towerofanimus | Doing it for a thrill

Characters: Marceline and anyone willing to have the red drank from some of their possessions.
Setting: Anywhere and everywhere.
Format: Starting in prose but I'll match you.
Summary: Marceline has dealt with this food all she can. It's time for a little bit of a snack. And a few shades of red are sounding pretty good right now.
Warnings: Marceline being a butt. That's about all I can think of.

Marceline had had it up to here. Strawberries, apples, raspberry red every morning, tomato soup and whatever red she could get from the lunches, and then whatever she could get from the dinners. It was almost enough to make a girl go back out to hunt, and she'd done so well not drinking blood until now.

If it meant variety, a decent meal, she'd almost consider it. Except for not wanting to drink from any of her fellow inmates in this tower prison (she made a note to use that in a song if she ever got out), and not being sure if the monsters even... actually had blood. And if she could drink it anyway. The problem kept her lying in bed, thinking, until an idea hit.

Red was red, wasn't it? And she'd eaten the shades of red from clothing and other stuff before, hadn't she? Well, there was tons of red to be found around here, surely, she just had to look! That was enough to get her out of bed and looking around, passing the cafeteria entirely. It was snack time.

Suzaku saw the girl and nodded at her, he had seen her around before but not spoken to her. The bottom of his cloak is sort of red, as are some of the jewels of his uniform. He began continuing on his way after nodding to her.

Marceline waved, vaguely registering that she'd seen this guy before. It wasn't until he was on his way that she registered the red on the cloak.

Hm... burgundy tone. Looks pretty tasty... she mused, a grin coming to her face, and she carefully started following him. Wouldn't do to give herself away.

Suzaku had been trained by Toudoh and trained again by the Britannian army, when he sensed someone behind him he looked around.He didn't see anyone so continued. After a little bit though he was sure there was someone there. After a while he stopped. "Who's there?"

Marceline wasn't one for hiding and hunting- that sort of thing was best left for someone who had to do that. That wasn't to say she didn't enjoy the hiding and stalking.

Keeping her laughter down was hard, but she wasn't quite ready to attack yet. Besides, she was having too much fun already!

Suzaku frowned looking around. There didn't seem to be anyone there though. He continued walking, not letting his guard down, wondering if it was one of the monsters. They usually weren't sneaky though, usually just attacking on sight.

As fun as being sneaky and trying to scare the daylights out of her quarry was, Marceline was getting impatient. She wanted that snack, dang it, and she intended to have at least a bite. With that in mind, she darted from her hiding place, fangs bared.

Suzaku span round, kicking out at his attacker instinctively. Shock registered on his face though when he saw who it was, not a monster at all. Even with the fangs...

"Marceline?"

Marceline wasn't used to her prey trying to attack back, but she knew well enough to dodge. A quick swoop and she was back a few feet, an unashamed grin on her face.

If she was going to get caught, she sure wasn't about to look sorry.

"Hey, Suzaku." she grinned. "Guess trying to sneak attack a soldier wasn't my best idea." She held up her hands in surrender.

"Hello..." Sneak attack? She didn't seem like a threat, but she had just tried to attack him, he stood upright but was ready to fight still.

"Why the sneak attack?"

Marceline didn't drop her hands, but she did have the decency to look half-ashamed at this point. She'd been beaten, and while she wasn't too pleased, she could at least accept that it was her own fault.

"I was feeling kinda hungry. And the red on that cape looked pretty tasty. It's more fun to hunt than to just go up and ask if I can have a taste." she admitted.

"Hungry?" He blinked in confusion and looked down at his cloak. "And you eat clothing?"

"What? No." Marceline said, laughing. "I eat shades of red. Rather than blood. I can drink blood, yeah, but I prefer the color." She couldn't even remember the last time she'd had blood, and that was fine with her.

Wait what? She drank blood? But also ate shades of red? He blinked, but really it wasn't that much stranger than anything else he had experienced here. He unfastened his cloak and handed it to her, "You could just ask, you shouldn't have to be hungry."

"It's not so much hungry..." She tried her best not to look ashamed, because she shouldn't be really, but she certainly felt it. And it probably showed in how she stared at the cloak. "I'm just tired of eating the same thing all the time..."

She held it up and stared at him. "You're sure this is okay? I won't take much, and I'll try to keep it hidden."

"Of course it is," despite how strange it was. He nodded at her. "Thank you," at her offer of keeping it hidden. He wasn't overly fond of the cloak. It seemed a little ridiculous, but he had so little from home and it served as a reminder.
