File 001. Why save a rookie?
Characters: Ronald and YOU LOT
Setting: Room 3-02 if you wish or the cafeteria!
Format: I'll match you!
Summary: A reaper falls out of bed and rambles about how he's been jipped.
Warnings: Nada! Fairly clean, all things considered but he may try to chat you up should you be a pretty young thing.
[ He's had better wake up calls from his alarm clock back home. Unlike those, however, this one causes his eyes to jerk open. Something wasn't right. Of course, there's the ensuing panic that sets in when he finds himself in the hold of sleep paralysis. Mentally, he's straining to get free, trying to will his limbs to move. This is worse seeing as no one's ever had a hold on a reaper like this before. But before he can even try to summon his death scythe, it's all over. That one burst of energy he called upon to release him renders him crashed out of bed and on the floor.
However, should you be fortunate enough to miss that cry of panic and the ensuing "Bloody hell, that hurt.", you would find him in the cafeteria. Here, he looks to be an absolute mess: poking at his oatmeal occasionally with a spoon while he mulls over the letter, free hand passing through his own hair to brush it out of his face. If you would chance upon him here, he'd be muttering away as he looks the information given over. ]
--World has been destroyed? That's a load of bollocks. You would have thought we'd be given a heads up as to when it's gonna be destroyed. Big number of deaths like that, there wasn't even anything on the To Die list. We've been bloody diddled if I'm supposed to believe th--
[ And a face as he takes a spoonfull of that... slop. ]
What in blazes is this stuff?!
[ Sliding bowl away. No me gusta.
Dare to bother a reaper his first day in? Ask about his ramblings? Make him eat? ]

She decides to open with the answer to the question she does know the answer to]
It's called oatmeal. You have to eat it before you eat anything else or you'll be ill. At least, that's what everyone says.
no subject
The cafeteria back in Dispatch had better grub though.
[ Absently stirring with his spoon. ]
Ain't there anything better around here? S'not exactly what I'd consider a good enough meal for starters.
no subject
[Inviting herself to sit at his table, don't mind her.]
Well, there is. And maybe once you've had your oatmeal you can have something else. But they're pretty strict about the oatmeal first part...especially if they're serving it past morning.
no subject
[ Ah well, no use denying it if it's what he had to do. Still looking at the bowl with distaste though. Human food was human food. He's taken to picking at it again though while offering his new companion a small smile. ]
So... Would I be right to guess you've been here longer? My first day in, y'see.
If it... wasn't so bloody obvious from the oats and this. [ Holding up the letter. ]

If it ain't a Legion here, or a swarm der, der be always someting looking ta end yer world no mattah how well ya be stoppin' da previous cataclysmic event mon.
[She chuckled as she placed her clean plate to the side and rested her head on her arm as she looked over.]
Ya know, if ya ain't finishin' dat I don't be mindin' extra helpings when der ain't much else ta eat. But, I be suggestin' ya be eatin' it regardless if ya plan ta explore da towah.
no subject
The world's gonna end, yeah, they told us that much. But a big number of deaths like that? The higher ups would've been absolutely crackers not to tell the Dispatch Department! Who reaped the souls of the dead from that disaster?
[ A glance over at the bowl though. ]
...I'm not gonna be able to eat anything until I get this down, am I?
no subject
[Xue smiled back and relaxed in her seat as she looked over.]
Sumtimes we don't ta know da why's or when's yanno. Whatevah happened in yer world, not much ya can do about now. I suppose ya can be thankful, or not, dat joo survived. Sum might tink dat is nawt such a good ting considerin' where we be.
no subject
I guess you got that right on one account. Not much we can do about it except make the most of it.
[ The last bit makes him a little wary though. There's the slightest perk of his eyebrow as he takes another spoonful. ]
What... kind of place is this here tower anyway?

Hey, I know that junk is gross, but ya might want to eat it. From what I've heard, they're pretty serious about that stuff.
no subject
Looks a bit dodgy to me. Don't suppose you had to do this too the first time around?
no subject
Yep, and I'm not supposed to be able to eat that junk. I was sick for a few hours. But that's just me, haven't seen anyone else get sick from it.
[She's not very good at this reassuring thing, can you tell?]
no subject
S'not exactly the most brilliant thing I've had in the history of forever but... I wouldn't be chuffed to hear it'd make you sick.
Sorry to hear the food gave you trouble, miss.

...oh hi, Mero. B3a
[ Stirring at the oatmeal though. Okay, so maybe it wasn't so bad. ]
Got any idea as to why they make us do this in the first place?
fjksdh HI it's a small world
8D Yes, yes it is~
[ Oh, now this was a perspective to take from. The oatmeal's forgotten a moment though. Ronald's now resting his head on his hand, watching Romeo with a measure of interest. ]
Someone giving you trouble then?

BUT when she was done giggling happily, she'll walk a bit closer to where he was sitting and actually say something.]
It's some magical breakfast goop that they make us eat because of reasons.
[BUT MORE INTERESTINGLY--] What's all that stuff you were talking about? Like a, "To Die" List?
Sorry I took so long! ;;;
Looks like bleeding oats to me. Not exactly what I'd call the breakfast of champions, eh?
[ Have a smile flashed your way as he sets his spoon down. ]
Just some stuff I needed for work. S'kind of a big thing with the world being destroyed and all... and us not being told about it. Enough to drive a fellow mad if you ask me.
pfftt, s-same XD;;
[But silly aside, she's kind of interested!] For work? What kind of work do you do?
XD It's all good!

When the boy takes his first bite of oatmeal, Richtofen makes his presence known.]
That would be oatmeal. [Is that a hint of condescention in his tone? Why yes, yes it is.] It's not very good, but I suppose it is better than the alternative.
<333 oh please~ Love him all you want~
[ Can't help but stir the slop firstly. Nope. Just because he has to eat it doesn't mean he doesn't have to like it. ]
You had to eat it too the first time around, I'd wager?
Ooh Mr. Knox, ooh~

He was just sitting on his own bed, sharpening his silver sword. One mustn't let their sword become dull, no? A fine blade needed constant work.]
No, it's cool! Sorry I took so long!
...ow... bugger.
[ But the sound of sharpening draws his attention. ]
Uh... 'scuse me sir but... what in blazes just happened?
