Setting: The library.

Summary: Romana went back to her own world. And she is a wreck.
Warnings: Tears, possible swearing, possible violence.

[For the few days that she had been back in the tower, Romana had managed to keep it together. Pretending to be find was a skill she had taught herself long ago, and one she used often.

But her scar aches under her clothes.

And she can't stop the images of her Italy in ruins, the once green hills and fields empty wastelands, her beloved Santa Chiara returned to rubble, like it had been after the bombings.

Venice, covered in water, Rome deserted, Vatican City burnt and broken to the ground.

And no where, no where could she find another living soul.

No where could she find her sister.

Finally, one day it gets to her, she can feel herself start to crack. And so she hides, up in a corner of the library, surrounded by photos pulled from her photo album. All of a smiling happy redhead, some with Romana by her side.

And Romana cries, arms wrapped tight around her, her whimpers muffled as she hides behind the stacks, praying that no one will find her in this moment of weakness.]

Uh pepperoni? Or sausage? Or both?

Yeah! Cuz pepperoni is spicy and sausage isn't! But there are spicy sausages too...

[Smiles faintly, even if it is sad, patting her on the head.] You can have both. If we can find it.

Yay, we're going to make pizza~

[Feels her lips twitch into another sad smile, as she continues to follow Molly] If they have everything I need...

Why wouldn't they? It's a kitchen!

This place sometimes only gives us ingredients for certain things, piccola. It's quite frustrating.

You should yell at them.

Piccola, there are many things I could yell at them for... the food is the last concern. Even if it is horrible.

What are the other concerns?

That we're here. Why we're here. What they did... if they're responsible for what happened...

Maybe they were just lonely. I'm sure our planet is okay.

[Romana pauses, swallowing slowly] I...

...perhaps yours is.

Nope, yours is too!

... I'm afraid not, piccola. [Tightens her jaw and starts to walk faster, her body clearly tense]

I don't believe that. [she smiles truthfully at her]

[Stops, closing her eyes and exhaling slowly]

I know what I saw, piccola. I know what I felt. Everywhere was destroyed, and I couldn't feel a single one of my people. My home is gone, my land, my people. I don't know how I exist, but I do, for some twisted reason.
