It's the end of the world as we know it.

Characters: Allen Ridgeley and YOU.
Setting: Around floor 3
Format: Starting with prose, but will match either.
Summary: A former innocent who's dipped his hand in blood to save the universe finds out it was all for nothing. Denial and guilt ensue, but mainly looking for details.
Warnings: Probably nothing? At worst he might curse a bit if he gets worked up.

It didn't make sense. Wilhelm had said they had time, and what reason would he have for leading them on in false hope like that? But he couldn't deny that something felt wrong here, nor could he ignore the fact that he couldn't contact Wilhelm or the other Testaments. Which meant he needed to find answers.

His footsteps echoed through the hallway outside the room he'd woken up in, cape trailing the ground as he moved. There had to be something here to tell him what was really happening...right?

Floor three, in the library primarily, was one of the places that Fi spent a lot of time, mostly studying the different languages available. He'll find the primarily blue spirit floating along just inside the library, book in hand, as he walks around the third floor.

Of course he would investigate the library once he found it, it would be stupid not to. But what he sees there is a surprise even for him. His first thought was Gnosis, but no...she didn't seem like one. Well...there was little point in avoiding people here, right?

"Excuse me, you're another refugee, right?"

Fi turned towards Allen, head tilted slightly. She set the book down on the nearest table, looking like she had no arms because of the 'wings' before floating a bit nearer him and nodding.

"That is correct. I assume that you have recently woken up?"

"Yeah. Is-" He paused to shake his head, fending off that part of him that didn't want to know the answer. "Do you know if it's true?"

"I cannot be certain of how accurate the letters were in regards to our worlds. Last time I was aware of anything, my Master defeated the only threat to our world before I entered a centuries long sleep." Fi was, sadly, designed to be honest and this was the most honest answer she could give.

She didn't like giving such a disappointing answer though, so she went on with her own theory.

"I do not believe it is possible though. My Master is currently present within the tower. As are his descendants. Had the world been destroyed and he rescued, then it would not be possible for the other Link's to be born."

That was definitely good news. If there was evidence that her universe still existed, then it was entirely possible that his did too. But that still left questions.

"So we're probably more like kidnapees. How much do you know about the tower?"

"I regret that I do not know as much as I would like. It is necessary for everyone to eat oatmeal as their first meal, monsters roam during the night, dying results in you waking up in your room the next morning. Each week, we are required to check in at the infirmary as a scheduled time for our collars to be checked." And just listing off what she knew so far. Surprisingly little for the few weeks she had been here so far but it was a start all the same.

"I am sure that there are others who have been here longer that would be able to tell you more. There are terminals around the tower that you can use to transmit messages."

His hand came up to idly brush against the collar. It was the one thing he hadn't been able to get rid of when he'd changed back to his usual outfit and the violet tubing was stark against the brown of everything else.

"What's the point of these collars?"

"We do not know. A short while ago, the colored liquid inside them was changed for several people, resulting in what abilities they possess going out of the owners control. It may be an equalizer for our capabilities but that is only a theory." And the only one she could come up with. Fi mimicked his movement, covered hands moving to touch her own violent collar before letting her hand fall.

It didn't bother her as much as it bothered others. Just like it never bothered her residing inside the Master Sword or having no roommates.

That was a scary thought, and he was glad for his mask hiding his grimace. If that ever happened again...his powers going out of control could be devastating.

"And there's no way to get them off?"

"Unfortunately, there is not. When I attempted to enter the Master Sword, the collar did not detatch and remained around my neck as soon as I emerged." Which was unfortunate. And strange, considering she was a weapon spirit, not a being like any of the current tower residents.

"With time, you will barely notice the presence of the collar." Except when you go to the infirmary.

Enter the Master Sword? He made a note to ask about that later, but he had other things to worry about right now.

"Do things like that happen a lot?"

"I can only vouch for my own experience." He'd be welcome to ask, it wasn't as though Fi had found any reason to distrust him and not to share that information.

"If you wish to ask more about their experiences, I believe there is a terminal somewhere nearby."

"I might, thanks."

[There's a boy carrying a giant spear heading through the hallway. He stops and stares at Allen. Weird outfit. :T]

*He knows it's a weird outfit, shut up. He notices he's being stared at and turns to look. Funny how he can see without any sort of holes in his mask, huh?*

What is it?

Your outfit is stupid.

[Blunt, but. He doesn't care. :| ]

I hope not. At least it seems like you can see out of it.

If I couldn't, I'd have an excuse not to wear it.

[ Ganondorf passed by the library quite often. Not half as often as Gandalf or Xehanort did, but he enjoyed reading books when there was... Nothing else to do.

That's when he spotted the Testament... Weird outfit. And a strange sense of power emanating from them. ]

*You do not look friendly, sir. But he needs answers, and at worst he'd have to port out to avoid violence, right? So he may as well call out to him.*

Hey, you don't have any idea what's really going on here, do you?

[ What with that man who doesn't know to recognize a great king of evil and speak with the respect due to him? ]

Do you mean the tower?

*He doesn't care if you're a great king of lollipops. You cannot be scarier than Albedo when he was insane.*

Yeah. I find it a little hard to believe my entire universe was destroyed without warning.

*Well, no, he doesn't. He just finds it hard to beleive that it was destroyed before it should have been. But he's not in the habit of handing out details of what he really knows like that.*

It's been destroyed. As has been mine and countless others.

[ Ganondorf doesn't like to waste time. And he's also rude, so- ]

Nothing can be done about it and nobody will help you, you better get over it.

Even if my universe is gone, which I still have reason to doubt, I don't think there's nothing to do. I at least want to know what happened.

*You don't destroy the Xenosaga universe and not expect the survivors to be royally ticked off at you. You just don't.*

On the 12th Floor. You can observe there the death of other universe. What happened to your universe is most likely similar.
