Dos
Characters: Spain, open to everyone~
Setting: Fourth Floor.
Format: Action or prose; I'll just follow along.
Summary: Spain comes back after being unfortunately brought away to 'visit' her home.
Warnings: TBA
It was downright horrible.
She didn't want to believe her captors when they said her world was gone, but the truth was laid bare to her when she was somehow brought back to her world without her knowledge.
It was exactly as they said; her entire home has turned into a complete wasteland, devoid of life. She could not feel her people, and the land was dead in her heart. But yet, how could she be sustained? It must have been some sort of magic her captors pulled on her, and she touched the collar on her neck instinctively.
Sí, this must be what's keeping her alive. This strange contraption.
Back at the tower, she curls up on one of the couches on the fourth floor, looking forlornly out of the window.

... I'm sorry. That you had to go through that.
[ And he is honestly sorry; he means it. He is quiet for a moment after his words, but... ]
For whatever it's worth... I don't think that this is true. Even if you saw it... there's no way to know for real if it's the case.
[ He knows it's hardly reassuring, given the situation, and what Spain saw, but... still, he is trying. And hoping, that it helps. ]

[ Her voice rises to an almost shouting, accusing tone, until she realises she's just talking to a young boy. Where were her manners? ]
... Lo siento, I didn't mean to shout like that...
no subject
... You have every right to be upset.
[ He pauses for a moment, contemplative. He honestly... is just holding out hope, that his friends--his family--were okay. He couldn't bear the thought of having lost them so soon. Not before they were supposed to be gone. ]
I don't want to presume that I know what you've been through. And I can't exactly say that I would understand. ... But I'd like to listen, if you'd be willing to help me understand.
[ Because, you see, he wants to help her. That's all. ]
no subject
What would you like to know then?
no subject
Whatever makes you most comfortable. If you'd... like to tell me about yourself and that's better for you, I wouldn't mind that either.
[ He can only listen. But Minato knows that this is a skill not everyone possesses, so perhaps it can help. ]
no subject
[ And then it occurs to her she doesn't know his name. He probably didn't know hers either, since she didn't introduced herself earlier. Instead she nearly shouted at him. ]
Ah, first things first... I'm Spain. What is your name?
no subject
My name is Minato. It's nice to meet you, Spain-san.
[ He sincerely means it, smiling a little despite himself. It was an odd name, sure, but he'd heard weirder, and he was sure if she were to let him, he could ask, perhaps, later. ]
no subject
[ She smiles, nodding. ]
My apologies again, for earlier.
no subject
[ And he does mean that. ]
I suppose the best place to start would be with your name. I'm assuming you weren't just named after the country. Am I correct?
[ It's a shot in the dark, sure, but he's... well, he's seen far stranger. ]
no subject
Sí. I am Spain, the embodiment of the country. I was formerly Roman Hispania, but that was my past, I guess.
no subject
I've never really heard much about the country before now. Is it nice there?
[ She seems a little brighter, at least. ]
no subject
[ A sad smile. Oh, right. ]
It'll be silly to bring you now though, since it's all gone.
no subject
... I don't doubt it was hard on you, and you don't have to believe me, Spain-san, but...
[ He does give her a very, very small smile. ]
I stand by what I said earlier. Even if you saw it, we don't know for sure that was your world, or even if it was real. Your country may still be out there; I'm sure it's lovely. You seem very fond of it, after all. It must be.
[ ... He isn't trying to be smooth, it's more--sincerity. ]
no subject
[ her smile gets a little brighter now. ]
Enough about me. Tell me about yourself, Miño.

... Well--my friends and I are [ Renegade assassins? Vigilantes? Persona users? Being slowly murdered by either their subconscious or the pills they use to control it? HIGHLY entrenched in illegal activity? ] usually together... this is the first time I've been without them. I lead a team of Persona users.
[ ... He saw no reason not to be honest there. It was true, after all. ]
no subject
[ Tilts her head slightly at the term he used. ] Persona users?
no subject
[ How does he put this... ]
Would you believe me if I told you there's an extra, twenty-fifth hour in the day that few people are aware of, Spain-san? A hidden hour, called the Dark Hour. It occurs between twelve o'clock a.m. and a minute after.
It's... somewhat complicated, but... in short form, a Persona is a manifestation of your inner self used for protection.
no subject
So... in essence, you are pulling out a part of your inner being as a shield.
no subject
[ Although... after his time here, he has come to realize that the method in which they summon would appear very... unsettling.
There is a short pause. He does not normally say all that much unless he deems it necessary, and he does not normally... talk about himself, but he supposes a Persona isn't talking about himself so much as all of them. He... figured she didn't need to know EVERYTHING, right? He wasn't lying, so it was probably fine. ]
My Persona ability works here, although... the Persona and the way it's summoned might appear a little unsettling to some people. They tend to take the shape of mythological creatures. They're capable of advanced magic as well.
no subject
Does everyone have a Persona, or does it take a special skill to summon them? Or is it only for a selected few?
[ It does seem exciting, the thought of an inner self being the protector of your flesh. ]
no subject
Not everyone, no. Though I suppose if one had the potential and woke to it, they might be able to. What it comes down to is whether or not they would have the resolve to continue despite the method of summoning. We're used to it by now, but it's hard on your psyche and very tiring at first.
[ He's very good at hiding how he feels here, luckily. ]
no subject
So... You have to shoot yourself to summon your Persona.
no subject
I suppose that would be one way to say it, yes.
[ He is quiet for a moment. ]
I... never understood why it bothered everyone as much as it does. Evokers do what they're supposed to do. Given that... we could die at any moment, if we don't protect ourselves, I don't think it's surprising they need to be as impactful as they are.
[ But he also wouldn't want to... let anyone else do that to themselves. He was used to it, even enjoyed it, in a twisted way, but... it could hurt others. ]
no subject
[ she leans forward to give him a little hug. ]
The one thing I like about humans is that they never give up. Even when they're about to die. But it seems cruel to have to shoot yourself just to bring out your protector.
