Floor Fifteen

[He had been working on this for a very, very long time- almost since he first arrived nearly two months ago. It wasn't perfect like Daidara-san's work - no, not by a long shot, but he was finally putting the finishing touches on his own blade. Though, he had decided to take a break from finishing the hilt earlier... if the item beside him was any indication.]

Your Choice

[It's April 27th... and someone's birthday. He definitely made them something, but the question is... where to find them?]

[> You begin your search for a certain detective, but will it only be Naoto-kun that you bump into?]

Floor Fourteen

[He hasn't been to this floor for a long time, but right now... he doesn't mind the break. Yu sits in a corner of the room, watching others playing video games with one earpiece on and the other lying there, hanging off his jacket. People from his world may recognize the voice as "Risette," but really-- he only knows her as Rise...]

[So many of his friends have been hurting lately, and he has no idea where to begin to help them other than continue to lend a helping hand and an ear to listen. Sometimes he wishes they would see that he's never too busy to help them, but other times... What do you even say to someone who can't tell you the problem they're facing?]

[...Maybe he should join the others and play something for a change.]

Floor Twenty-Eight

[The music floor...]

[He really has no problems with it, the instruments sometimes playing on their own. But this time, he finds an instrument that he knows well enough- something he hasn't played in a few months, now. If someone stumbles upon him, they'll hear a single trumpet playing something both hopeful yet melancholic, just a little louder than anything else around.]

Floor Thirty-Eight

[At the end of the day, he can be found on the thirty-eighth floor, staring out the windows to the outside with his newly-forged sword at his side. The height doesn't scare him, and the view isn't too bad... but it partly reminds him of being up on the hilltop overlooking the small town he made so many memories in.]

[Yu is silent, simply sitting there in one of the over-sized chairs with a small notebook in hand. He's almost done with the account of their journey, one no one would ever believe aside from their own...]

[Hey, Izanagi and Izanami only invited him to. He is still line-facing at all of them Yosuke, though.]

I've noticed Arisato-san really isn't, too. [He sighs in agreement, having tried to offer the olive branch once before but not truly succeeding.] It's odd, huh.

[thanabro]

It really is. Minato's never been the most friendly person, but he's never been... cold like that. I wish I knew how to help him.

[pitiedthefool]

I wish I could help him too, but he's shunned every attempt I've made so far. [He sighs, understanding a little bit... but he knows it has to be harder with family members. Who cares if they're from different realities?] I think the best any of us can do is try to reach out to him. It's still him, just behind a thick wall.

[Yes, yes he did see how he cares for his team.]

[thanabro]

Yeah. I can see his kindness behind it... if I knew what happened to him I might be able to help him better... but I don't want to pry.

[Ughhhhhhhhhhh. Minato why are you being so frustrating? :c ]

[He pauses, nodding to the bean bags nearby.]

...He explained a few things, the second time I spoke with him.

[thanabro]

[He'll take the hint and start wandering over to them.]

What kind of things?

[Yu joins him, having put his book away.]

How much did he say to you before? [Comparing notes time, it is a go.]

Not a lot... he seemed shocked when I told him Thanatos is my Persona, but he didn't seem to know what I was talking about when I mentioned Death or the Fall. He hung up pretty quickly when I told him what I knew about Strega in my world - which really isn't much. Most of my information is secondhand.

[pitiedthefool]

[Death... the Fall... Mother of God, what else had happened only a few years before he awakened to his power?]

...That may be because he's their leader in his reality.

[thanabro]

[He opens his mouth, and then closes it, thinking for a moment.]

... Oh. I... didn't know that.

[pitiedthefool]

[Brain broken again, Ryoji?]

I didn't either, at first. [Then again, he didn't know anything about SEES or Strega before coming here aside from his predecessor to the Velvet Room becoming the Seal...]

[thanabro]

That must mean... didn't Strega get used as experiments? I -

[And suddenly there's a flash of understanding.]

... That would explain a lot of things.

[pitiedthefool]

[He nods faintly, even though he really doesn't know much about the events that occurred before he awakened to his own power other than what was explained.]

Guess it would for someone who knows what happened then.

[Yu is nothing but empathetic, because how could he ever understand something like this?]

The group that used them for experiments is the same group that caused the Dark Hour and the Shadows.

[pitiedthefool]

...What do you mean.

[After a pause, he adds:] I knew of the experiments, but they caused the Dark Hour and the Shadows to appear in your world?

[This is Yu. This is the sound of Yu's brain breaking. This is also the sound of Izanagi-no-Okami confirming these fears and- well, neither one of them is very happy, if you catch his drift.]

[thanabro]

Ten years ago... they were trying to bring about the Fall... I don't know all of their logic, but they were trying to call the goddess Nyx to Earth to end all life. To do that, they... well, there were Shadows already, but they made a lot more. They tested them. And they brought together Shadows, trying to resurrect Death to call her.

[He shakes his head.]

There was an accident. You can't hold that kind of power in one place for long. The explosion from the lab made Tartarus and the Dark Hour. Death was split into different parts, and one of the parts ended up being sealed in a child who was injured in a nearby car accident. At least in the world I'm from... that was me.

[pitiedthefool]

[Yu listens silently, letting it all sink in. He thought his own time was messed up, but this? This definitely takes first prize, especially when he hears Izanagi's voice in his head again loud and clear.

He winces, placing a hand to his forehead.]

...That explains Izanagi's reaction.

[thanabro]

... Oh?

[He's a little curious. He's still not terribly good at listening to Thanatos yet. :T It probably takes time.]

[pitiedthefool]

[He chuckles a bit.] ...Izanagi is the one who has been within my soul since the beginning. It was my role to encourage hope and save those who were on the brink of death. He's never thrilled- [Understatement, Yu...] -to hear that a part of humanity would cast aside life for any reason.

He is the god who invites creation, after all.

[...Whoever is the cause of this had better hope they never come here, or they would have to face one who could grant 1,500 lives and just as easily take them. Goddammit Izanagi, stop yelling.]

[thanabro]

[... He nods, and smiles a little bit.]

I remember reading about Izanagi. Most of the books I have are focused on Greek and Roman gods, since that seems to be what most of our team has, but I've read some of his myths, too. I can imagine he wouldn't be that happy with that kind of thing.

[pitiedthefool]

Most of my team's seems to stem from those who were born from his and Izanami's story of partings. [a pause.] ...He's also empathetic since he apparently made up with his wife recently.

[Over a thousand years later... Geez, bro. you couldn't have done that when you were not in my soul?

'No.' ...Damn troll of a persona-god. - -u]

At least he finally did, right?

[He nods.] Yeah. [Though now he wonders if he should get a masters' degree in psychiatry...]
