catching up with the sad posts i have to make in three parts
Characters: Ven, Aqua, [OU] Sora, Roxas, [OU] Xion, and Open on the parts that are
Setting: Floor Two Infirmary, backdated to before the Labyrinth [CLOSED-ish]
Room 1-16, backdated before the Labyrinth
Floor Three Library during the Labyrinth Event
Format: Starting prose 'cause ~DRAMA~, but I can do whatever.
Summary: Ven deals with the aftermath of Vanitas' impromptu heart surgery not as well as he did the first time. And watching the events of the labyrinth on the monitors doesn't help much at all.
Warnings: Tower of Sadimus, sad blonde lump being sad.
[Floor Two Infirmary - CLOSED sort of to [OU] Sora and/or those involved in the Heart Catastrophe & BACKDATED]
Ven was laying on an infirmary bed. He'd been doing so for some time. He didn't feel strong enough to move. He didn't particularly want to. His chest didn't particularly hurt anymore. But he felt the same feeling of slipping away. Again.
His eyes were dull and glazed over in blue, half-lidded. He stared at the ceiling. He didn't feel up to moving much.
[Room 1-16 - BACKDATED & OPEN]
He hadn't left his room in awhile now. Sometimes he went on the elevator to go down to the Cafeteria to get something to eat, but sometimes he just didn't want to. Ven hated himself for being so down about this-- he wasn't slipping away anymore and he wouldn't, he wouldn't, but-- well. If he understood everything he was feeling, he wouldn't be as depressed. So for now he was simply sitting on his bed, staring at some book that was openo n his bed, but not really reading it or paying attention. He hadn't bothered to shut the door entirely, so if someone were curious or peaking in, he sure wasn't going to stop them.
[Floor Three Library - ACTUALLY PRESENT-DATED OH SNAP & OPEN]
So his spirits still weren't totally up to snuff, but Roxas had at least convinced (see: forced) him to get his butt out of his room, and so here he was, sitting at the computer terminal with a few companions, clicking and watching some of the video from the labyrinth.
And resting his head on the desk in front of him as if he were a mopey, tired, computer student. Man he hated this Tower so much.

Room 1-16 SINCE I AM TAGGING ERRYTHANG
"I hope you're hungry, Ven."
YEEEAAAAH
"What's this...?"
WOOOOOOOO
No, duh.
"I wanted to cheer you up, so..."
Roxas pulled the dome up with a half-attempted flourish, displaying...a cheeseburger with fries. Classy.
"I got you something good, instead of those bar things."
/guitar riff
"You didn't have to do that," He said, rubbing the back of his neck a bit. "I'm fine."
/drum solo
"Don't lie, Ven. I'm worried about you." Wow, he didn't want to have this conversation, but he sort of had to. "You're...well. You're my best friend here. I don't like seeing you upset like this."
/also pyrotechnics
"...Thanks," He said, smiling again though a bit sadly still. "I just...don't, feel well I guess. I'll get over it." E, ventually. Yeah.
/Gas Chamber is jealous
"...can you really just, get over something like this? Are you sure there's nothing I can do?"
/they can't handle dis
"...It's happened once before," He said idly, taking another bite of the burger to avoid having to keep talking.
/bitches be flockin' to dis
"Didn't you have more help for that? I just don't want you sitting and waiting if there could be something I could do now."
Yeah, broski over here is in a hurry to make sure you're 100% okay. He's sort of banking his own sanity on this.
/like milkshakes
He's just kind of staring at the burger now. Talking about feelings is kind of making him lose his appetite. "I'm mostly just...made at myself for letting it bother me so much I guess."
/also yards
Roxas sat up, nudging him with his elbow. "If you beat yourself up over letting it bother you, it's going to keep bothering you. Blaming your feelings isn't going to help."
A pause, and he put the metal dome on Ven's head. "Eating that hard-earned cheeseburger will, though. It's magic, trust me."
/damn right
"I.. guess." Although he was pretty sure the cheeseburger wasn't magic, he did let out another chuckle. "I just...hate that I'm letting Vanitas get to me I guess. And I don't think cheeseburgers are gonna ward off the Unversed very well."
/eff yeah
Yeah, he was being sarcastic there too. He just didn't want to risk eating it on the way to bring it to Ven. But, on to the less ridic topic.
"He's sort of made to get to you, anyway. You could always put in a request to make him go scrub the floors, or something. Never know, they might do something."
Like give them another month of ice cream.
/shades
Even though ice cream would be pretty sweet.Sadly he was back to being a bit dour once more. "Yeah but... I thought I finally beat him..." He took a bite of his cheeseburger again (not that he was really paying attention to the taste anymore) and then--
"Wait...how do you know? I didn't tell you everything about him, did I...?"
/prescription shades
Sweet, I see what you did thereRox actually frowned at the conversation turn himself, popping another fry down the chute in time for Ven to actually add two and two together. Had Ven told him...? He couldn't really remembe-
Oh crap, it'd been Aqua, hadn't it?
"...uh." Time to just, uh...crap how do you subject change from th- eureka! "I can't really remember."
Flawless defense.
/what a loser
I know I am so clever. He took a bite of his cheeseburger while Roxas formulated his flawless defense and...did not find it so flawless. "Who else could have told you? Did you talk to Master Xehanort or-- Aqua or something?"
Please let it be Aqua please let Roxas have not talked to Master Xehanort??
/cries
"I'm pretty sure it was Aqua. Seriously, who else could have told me? Realistically, I mean." Ergo, ruling out mentor of creepsville. "It was a while ago...I forgot she told me and you hadn't."
And a sigh, as he stole more fries.
"My memory's not the best. That's not the important part, anyway."
haha
"That's...good I guess." It was better knowing that Roxas had just been talking to Aqua about it instead of Master Xehanort. Though the fact that Aqua had apparent told Roxas about him was weird, and got an awkward rub to the back of his neck.
"So call me crazy for wanting to know why my mysterious identical twin knows about my adolescence," He said with a facetious shrug, taking another bite of the burger. Hey, at least he was a little more light-hearted!
but our friendship :'(
Oh, Ven was taking this conversation somewhere else. Sweet!
"Hey, hey. At least you know yours, okay? Maybe I wanted to borrow some of it so I wouldn't feel so left out."
A pause, and a chuckle.
"...borrow some of the good parts, anyway."
this is the foundation of our friendship what are you talking about
"H-Hey... I kinda need a nice share of the good parts, you know.."
...Yeah this was kind of pretty morbid-ish humor from his perspective, so he's just gonna fill the next gap by finishing off his cheeseburger.
okay true
I hate myself."Okay, fine. You can have them." His laugh was a touch awkward itself, mostly because he was actually half-serious with the rest of this discussion. "I dunno who's better off...you've got a lot of stuff, and I've got none."
A pause, and he half-frowned. "I'm actually glad you have the happy parts. I would be a lot more worried about you if you didn't."
<>
You should."Who's worried about who here? You're the one that can barely hold his Keyblade right," He teased, still kind of on the somber side of the tone spectrum, but definitely getting better!
He idly looked at the plate on his nightstand, reaching over to take a fry twirled it a bit before speaking again. "I dunno... There was a long time when I didn't have anything either," Twiiiirly twirly.
"But...that didn't really matter that much, because I had Aqua, Terra and Master Eraqus, you know?" And he bit down on the fry, stil not directly looking at Roxas for now. Honestly, he wasn't sure if he preferred not remembering Master Xehanort or not.
