catching up with the sad posts i have to make in three parts
Characters: Ven, Aqua, [OU] Sora, Roxas, [OU] Xion, and Open on the parts that are
Setting: Floor Two Infirmary, backdated to before the Labyrinth [CLOSED-ish]
Room 1-16, backdated before the Labyrinth
Floor Three Library during the Labyrinth Event
Format: Starting prose 'cause ~DRAMA~, but I can do whatever.
Summary: Ven deals with the aftermath of Vanitas' impromptu heart surgery not as well as he did the first time. And watching the events of the labyrinth on the monitors doesn't help much at all.
Warnings: Tower of Sadimus, sad blonde lump being sad.
[Floor Two Infirmary - CLOSED sort of to [OU] Sora and/or those involved in the Heart Catastrophe & BACKDATED]
Ven was laying on an infirmary bed. He'd been doing so for some time. He didn't feel strong enough to move. He didn't particularly want to. His chest didn't particularly hurt anymore. But he felt the same feeling of slipping away. Again.
His eyes were dull and glazed over in blue, half-lidded. He stared at the ceiling. He didn't feel up to moving much.
[Room 1-16 - BACKDATED & OPEN]
He hadn't left his room in awhile now. Sometimes he went on the elevator to go down to the Cafeteria to get something to eat, but sometimes he just didn't want to. Ven hated himself for being so down about this-- he wasn't slipping away anymore and he wouldn't, he wouldn't, but-- well. If he understood everything he was feeling, he wouldn't be as depressed. So for now he was simply sitting on his bed, staring at some book that was openo n his bed, but not really reading it or paying attention. He hadn't bothered to shut the door entirely, so if someone were curious or peaking in, he sure wasn't going to stop them.
[Floor Three Library - ACTUALLY PRESENT-DATED OH SNAP & OPEN]
So his spirits still weren't totally up to snuff, but Roxas had at least convinced (see: forced) him to get his butt out of his room, and so here he was, sitting at the computer terminal with a few companions, clicking and watching some of the video from the labyrinth.
And resting his head on the desk in front of him as if he were a mopey, tired, computer student. Man he hated this Tower so much.

HOPE YOU'RE OK WITH HIPPY DIPPY DREAM SEQUENCE
All of a sudden that same, bright warmth overcame his heart like it had before. Pieces were being put back into their places, and safety ropes being integrated so that no more would fall until he got his real heart back.]
Thank you.
[His mouth didn't move, and it wasn't until after the words had left him that his eyes opened again. Yet there his voice went. And when he opened his eyes this time, though his pupils were still light and barely there, the life had returned to his countenance.]
S...Sora....?
ALWAYS
It felt right, as if everything was sliding back into place. Like things would be okay. If his own heart could keep Ven's going until it was truly whole again...then this was right.
He didn't respond. He just smiled and closed his eyes again, and then...
Light, but a different kind. Sora blinked, slowly letting the fact that he was still in the infirmary with Ven sink in.
Ven...was he...?
That's when he heard his name, and his head was up in a second.]
Ven!
no subject
The same event, the same light.
Ven seemed to be collecting his bearings much quicker than last time how; he sat up abruptly, staring forward with confusion on his face, before turning to look at Sora.]
W-- Where did you say you were from? What was your home like?
no subject
Well, maybe he is trying to figure out what happened.
He rubs his head a little, looking off to the side as if that will somehow help him put everything together.]
I...I'm from Destiny Islands. And you said you'd been there before, right?
[And, even though Sora knows that he doesn't remember...]
...I do know you, don't I?
no subject
You... You were that light!
[Could it really...?] The last time this happened-- I was saved by a light that said it was a newborn Heart, it-- it said it would help mine and keep it from falling apart until I could fix it...!
no subject
[Of course, Sora didn't remember. He couldn't, since everything happened before his heart or his mind could hold real memories. But the heart has a different kind of memory, too, and perhaps it was that which gave Sora a feeling that Ven was on the right track.
Newborn...so, on the day he was born? Could he really have been able to do something like that? If only there was a way to make sure - did different worlds keep time the same way? Probably not.
But maybe he didn't have to be sure. Maybe he could just trust that part of him that told him that he had rediscovered something important.]
I can't say that I know for sure, Ven, but I think you're right. I think that was me.
no subject
[His memories of that time were... still hazy, even after he had remembered the rest of it. But he felt like he was right, in that weird, spiritual sense.
Actually it didn't make very much sense, but nevertheless Ven was smiling warmly.]
Thank you for that. I think that's long overdue.
no subject
So Sora returns the smile, feeling a certain lightness to his mood that he didn't get as often anymore.]
Anytime.
[It may seem like too casual a response for something like this, but what just happened proves that it's exactly the opposite.]
