==> 001

Characters: Equius Zahhak and any who feel like dealing with him.
Setting: Floor 38.
Format: Starting with prose, action is just fine if you like.
Summary: Waking up in a strange place with a collar around his neck has not agreed with Equius, to put things lightly. He's found his way out of his dorm and down the stairs to the lounge - and left quite a bit of destruction in his wake.
Warnings: Equius being grumpy and unmanageable.

If you are anywhere near the third floor of the dormitories, you probably heard the sounds of violence and rage. Equius, now at least dressed in his own clothes, has noticed the fact that there is a collar around his throat. This, adding to his disorientation and lack of a Moirail around to keep him in check, has not gone well for just about anybody. Especially the local architecture.

Walking down the halls of the third dormitory floor and the stairwell down to the lounge, one may spy a few holes torn in the wall. They seem to have been formed with someone's bare hands. Drywall and flecks of wood leave a trail where he's walked, and the railing of the stairs is now noticeably warped and broken in a few places where his grip got the better of him. The trail of destruction continues into the lounge itself, with a few pieces of furniture already hurled across the room and broken into pieces.

In short, Equius is in quite a state. He's calmed down, somewhat, settling in a pile of cushions that was once part of a couch. His hands are at his own throat, tugging at the collar with all his strength. It refuses to budge.

Do you dare approach the angry alien boy?

Neither. We're in a Tower of indeterminate origin, and we all are from different universes and planets that have supposedly been destroyed. Naturally many of us doubt that.

[Should Kuja tell him everything or... oh, he'd find out anyway.]

Unfortunately, our shadowy captors seem to like to "experiment" on us, most often with dreadful consequences.

aw fuck that smile gets me every time ;3;

You would have cause to know?

[Not that Kuja tried to destroy a universe or anything... All hush hush.]

They range from merely odd to horrific, from what I have gleaned. Only recently a number of us have been forced into a maze for eight days to murder each other until one winner emerged. The losers remained death and experienced horrific nightmares until our revival at the end of those eight days.

"Oddly adorable" describes Equius as a whole I think XD

Is that right? I had no idea whole worlds could be destroyed so casually.

[Kuja stands up, walking around the couch so he can speak to Equius more easily. He seems to have calmed down, after all.]

"Culling" is quite appropriate, but it wasn't a ritual, as such... Usually the strong prevailing over the weak isn't so deliberate. Furthermore, since all of us revive in our beds whenever we die, such culling is pointless.

I'm sorry to hear that. I can't imagine how it must feel to lose your whole world on top of that tragedy.

[To an average person, Kuja appears sincere. He isn't lying, exactly, but his personal feelings don't extend much further than obliged politeness.]

No, we wake up as we were, completely restored. Why would we have new skills?

[Which only reminds him further of Terra. Sadly, some Genomes did slip his grasp, but he didn't begrudge overlooking that too much.] Well, that's something, at least.

This Tower is much unlike many worlds, it seems. For instance, we have yet to step a foot outside the Tower itself.

Others have tried, to no effect. Even floors that are open to the air negate any ability to safely coast down. Merely dropping isn't an option since we just fall to our deaths and revive. It's an ongoing problem, as you can imagine.
