001; lay me down in the bed that i've made. ( open! )
Characters: Leon Kuwata and you!
Setting: Dormitories (room 01-16) and wherever you want as long as it's reasonably safe.
Format: Action brackets really preferred, but if you want to prose that badly I can match.
Summary: Leon finds himself in the tower for the first time and has clear priorities.
Warnings: Possible swearing and general dumbassery.Balls.
( room 01-16 )
[ It's a good thing Leon always wakes up so slowly - it's why he hardly even notices the sleep paralysis among the lazy waking and the surprise that he can still even be conscious in any way. Still, a few moments after it disappears and the full realisation settles in that he's alive and can move, he jerks up until he sits in the bed.
There's a few things he has to realise here. The first is that somehow he's alive despite the fact there's no way he could ever have survived that, he's sure he died. Especially with how painful it was, just thinking back on it is enough to make a shiver run down his spine. But.. that means that right now he's dead yet alive, right? So then this must be.. the afterlife, huh? He can only see the room through tiny slits - opening his eyes fully feels so tiresome right after he wakes up - but it sure isn't anywhere he recognizes. And he can even feel that damn collar (he doesn't bother to look at it to see the difference) around his neck. What is this, humiliation even in the afterlife?
... Ah, well. You know what, it doesn't even matter. If this is the afterlife, then that's just it, and he'll find out what exactly happens in the afterlife later. More importantly he's in a bed right now and finally being out of that school means he can finally really sleep without anyone interrupt it. Yeah, that's right, everything else can come later. The afterlife can wait a few more hours for Leon Kuwata. So he just drops himself backwards again to catch some more (in his opinion finally well-deserved) sleep. Finally there's that nap he wanted all along.
This is why roommates might find the new guy completely sprawled out on his bed while sleeping as if he nearly passed out on there (he did sleep much less than usually the last few days for him, okay!!) and snoring loudly. ]
( elsewhere in the tower; pick a location )
[ Unfortunately Leon can't remain in his oblivious bliss forever, so after waking up later and actually finding the letter and the like (and some possible explanations from roommate(s)) he's trying to get some grasp on the situation by thinking about it and meanwhile walking around to see some more of the place. He's sticking to the safe parts since he's not completely stupid.
At least he put on his own clothes (seriously, what the hell was that other thing he woke up in, he's so not ever wearing that again). He doesn't still fully trust the situation though, so that baseball bat he found in his trunk? Yes, he's carrying it with him just in case. He's not going to let himself be taken by surprise again, not like last time. ]

When Leon arrives in the cafeéteria, he might notice a very familiar face just. Poking at a bowl of something that probably should be oatmeal, and looking very. Very. Zoned out.]
no subject
And it's more out of some sheer first instinct curiosity that he wanders over immediately, staring down at the boy sitting there despite how zoned out said boy looks. ]
.. Naegi?! [ don't be so loud, Leon, you'll get the entire cafeteria's attention at this rate.. ] What are you doing here?
[ Even if this isn't the afterlife after all like he found out (although that makes him being alive even weirder), why would this guy be here too? Did they pull all of them in the 'academy' here? ]
no subject
[That reply came out automatically as he continued to poke at the food inside the bowl, before he immediately started back up in surprise when the fact registered to his brain that Kuwata-kun is also alive.]
...!!!
[Good thing he didn't spill that food all over the table too.]
K-Kuwata-kun!?
no subject
Yeah, it's me. [ At least he seems reasonably calmer now, but almost a little.. pouty in that Leon way. ] What, is it that strange to see a dead man walking? Would've rather not seen me again?
[ Naegi's the one who got him executed through the reasoning for the most part, after all, but Leon doesn't take it particularly personally. It was either him or the rest of the entire group, after all, so he can't blame him. ]

[First Oowada-san, and now him, this tower is certainly strange, but it did prove one thing.
They can take anyone dead or alive, and dump them into this place.]
no subject
Leon is just going to plop down on the seat at the table right across from the other boy, laying down the bat on the table as well and dropping his head for a moment on the table out of sheer laziness before raising it again. ]
I'm not so sure about the first one. I'm pretty freaked I'm alive too, y'know.
no subject
[There was a nervous laughter as he recalled his previous encounter with the previously-dead Oowada-san, which would partly explain his... normalcy with Kuwata-kun.]
I met with Oowada-san earlier on, so...
[...Makoto, he doesn't know that Oowada-san is dead]
no subject
What, did they take the entire group to this place? Is this something that bear did?!
no subject
[.../bombshell time.]
Oowada-san was dead when I arrived here.
no subject
[ .. Casual answer interrupted since slowly the realisation starts to settle in.. give him a few moments.. ]
He was dead-- but why?! No way anyone would've dared to kill that guy, so he got.. you know, the same thing as me..?!

Watch it, you little shit-
[Oh-- hey, hey, he knows this guy!!]

Give him a few moments, he's trying to say somthing but it doesn't.. quite.. want to come out.. okay there. ]
Y-.. you?! [ Don't take it personally, Mondo, it's what he'd tell any of their 'classmates'.. ]
no subject
That how you greet a classmate, Kuwata?
no subject
[ Despite first instincts, he's so freaked out that he can't help but snark/yell back just a little all the same.. although it helps that Mondo isn't bringing up anything about his little murder incident, because he was more or less expecting the guy to yell at him (or more) for it considering how much he was raging during the investigation about 'finding the fucker who'd hurt a woman'.. It's still fresh on his mind after his 'execution', after all. ]
no subject
...You just get here too? Aren't you used to waking up in some weird place by now?
[Yeah, about that... Murderer...bros...]
no subject
Hey, this is only the second time! [ okay no it might have happened at a party before.. maybe.. but ssh. ] And at least last time I wasn't..
[ His voice trails off, and he has to gulp when he thinks back on what happened. No way he could've survived that, right? No way. ]

You died too, Oowada? [ And that can (to Leon) only mean one thing; that he must've killed someone too and got executed for it. No way anyone would go after Mondo of all people, they'd rather get an easy kill without risk, right? So him being the victim is simply not logical, but.. ] Y-.. you killed someone?!
[ It's not really in an accusatory way (because wow, Leon has no right of speaking there) but more.. surprise.. since Mondo was always the one ranting about A MAN'S WORD and RESPECTING WOMEN and all despite being a scary gang member. ]
no subject
[He grinds his teeth in irritation with himself, why you so stupid, Mondo?!!?!?]
Yeah. But...I didn't mean to do it! You get me, right?!

So when he first passes by the workshop, he only peeks in a little, and actually pretty subtly for once. It's difficult to see through the smoke, but since he's so generally used to the sight the thing that is being made inside there is the first thing he spots, even half through the smoke. The other thing is not difficult to spot yet either, but it brings an entirely different reaction. That bear is right here, in this room, even now, even after everything that happened..
His blood can't help but start boiling a little as usual and it's why he discards all the carefulness, instead just fully standing in the doorway and beating his bat against the frame (just a little, not enough to cause damage but enough to make a firm sound) to draw the bear's attention. You know, in case the shouting wouldn't already help with that.
"Hey! .. You!"
no subject
"... Who? Me?"
no subject
"Yeah, you! W-.." He swallows, trying to force out more words. Come on now, Leon.. "What are you doing..?!"
no subject
His tone turns a little serious for just one moment. Perhaps it's about time to turn Leon's fear into his advantage. It's not that he isn't curious either, really.
"What are you doing alive, you bastard?"
no subject
His fist clutches the bat a little tighter. "Why should I know that?! I just woke up like this, no way in hell I expected that..!" If he was being a little less emotional he would have realised this means Monobear doesn't know how most of this is happening either, but his common sense drops a lot once he's worked up.
