Summary: Sakuma's not exactly happy with being here so he's trying to look for better explanations than stupid pieces of paper
Warnings: nothing yet

[There is absolutely no way he's going to believe some letter telling him his world got destroyed. There has to be a mistake somewhere, never mind the fact that he's now in some weird place, because accepting that would mean accepting the people he knows are gone too. And that's just too terrible to even think about.

So he sets off to find who's in charge here. And maybe challenge them a soccer game or something when he finds them because that's obviously how you solve problems. By beating someone in soccer.

[As he listens dread grows in his stomach like a heavy stone. Part of his mind rejects that any of this had happened and yet, what reason did Kidou have to lie? He was told there were monsters here before but he didn't believe it. And now...

It scares him, more than he'd want to admit. Not because he's afraid of going through things like what Kidou described but because Kidou's already suffered and will continue suffering if they stay in this damn tower any longer.

The hand that's sitting on Kidou's shoulder clenches slightly. Seeing Kidou like this made him regret asking what happened.]

We need to get out of here.

We can't.

Why not?! There has to be a way.

There is no way outside of this Tower, unless we are sent back to our "destroyed" homes by accident or request. People have tried to leave to no avail.

[He looks up at Sakuma, a strict frown set on his face]

We have no choice but to stay here and wait to see what happens, as much as I don't want to say it.

[Sakuma returns his frown.]

Maybe no one's looked hard enough. I refuse to believe that these people hold that much power.

There are people who have been here for months, Sakuma. Perhaps even years. I'm sure they would have found something by now.

But--

[His mind draws a blank because Kidou has a point. He's barely been here that long at all and he's already deciding things himself without knowing anything.]

Things have calmed down, for the time being. As I've mentioned before, we just need to wait out and see what happens.

[Kidou takes Sakuma's hand, squeezes it for a moment, and gently removes it from his shoulder.]

Anyway we should probably get something to eat.

It still doesn't feel right just accepting things as it is but... If you say so. [Shrugs.] I don't know if I can eat but I guess we could go.

I should show you around the Tower, anyway.

[He smiles and stands up, fixing his cape and shorts a bit before walking past Sakuma and holding open the door for him.]

[Well, he can't deny that he'll need to get used to this place since he's stuck here now too so he follows after Kidou.]

How long have you been here, exactly?

About 7 weeks.

[Seven weeks, that's terrible.]

Huh, I guess that kid was right about time working weirdly here.

[Although he's saying this more to himself than anything.]

Kid?

[He turns his head to look at Sakuma]

You mean Link?

Yeah, I think that was his name. He was looking for you, actually.

He was? Did he say why?

Just that you were angry and that he didn't want you alone in a dangerous place like this when you're upset. I didn't believe him, you know. That it was dangerous here.

[He turns his head to his feet as he continues walking]

I didn't believe anyone at first, either.

It's hard to. Suddenly being told all this, it's kind of overwhelming.

...I'm sorry.

Why are you apologizing? None of this is your fault.

[No, don't be like that. You'll make him feel guilty.]

[He stops walking and turns to face Sakuma]

I'm apologizing for being inconsiderate. You had only just arrived here and caught me in such a bad mood, I didn't even consider how confused you must be hearing about all of the terrible things about this tower at once.

No, you shouldn't mind it. It's okay, really.

[Okay, going to stop complaining about being here now.]

Come on, weren't we going to go get food?

Yeah.

[He's still going to fret and worry but he starts walking again.]

Before you can eat anything else, you need to have some of the oatmeal served here. I'm not sure why but if you try to eat anything else, you will almost immediately vomit.

That's weird but I can live with it. It's just once, right?

[Because he's not that fond of oatmeal.]
