And If all our days are numbered, then why do I keep counting? [Closed]
Characters: Strega
Setting: Around the tower
Format: Anything goes, bros
Summary: Suicide kids have a family breakfast, and then hang out.
Warnings: Strega, likely mentions of suicide, violence, and nightmare punishments.
[Kitchen]
[There'd been no time to do this before, what with her confrontation with the Condesce ending the way it had... so Chidori decided that late was better than never and woke early to start in on the breakfast she'd promised her teammates. Getting Ken out of bed had been the easy part, considering she could just use Medea to speak to him without disturbing anyone in his room. Getting him dressed and down to the kitchen? Also easy.
Figuring out something to make for breakfast with what they had? Considerably more difficult.]
...any ideas, Ken-kun?
[The Meadow]
[In the end, she and Ken had managed something simple for breakfast, and after some cajoling (and threats) they'd gotten Jin and Minato up and with them to the flower meadow. Contrived and trite, perhaps- but a little pleasantness in their lives was needed at the moment. Perhaps even vital. Besides, there weren't too many other places to go besides the cafeteria, and Chidori didn't want to deal with the other residents of the tower much at the moment. She settled back on her heels, handing out utensils, and then handed out plates (covered with other plates, since there weren't exactly picnic baskets and containers to carry things in), allowing her expression to soften marginally for the first time in what felt like an age.]
Breakfast is served.
[Media Room]
[When it came to communication among the members of Strega, Chidori and Jin were probably the worst at it when having to deal with each other. But even they had their ways of doing things, which is what brought them to the media room, and more importantly, to one of the consoles set up for videogames. Jin took care of setting things up while Chidori simply settled, a controller in each hand, and handed one back to him as he sat next to her, still silent.
She taped her fingernails against the plastic of the game controller as the loading screen appears, and slid her gaze sideways, looking at Jin askance.]
Your turn to pick the map, if I recall.
[Not the best of starts, but it was better than none.]

[Kitchen]
[No. It's just nutrition bars.]
Why don't they ever give us good stuff to eat?
no subject
All there is are things left over from before.
[She exits holding some rice and tilts her head toward the refrigerator.]
Are there any eggs?
no subject
[He climbs down off of the counter to help examine them.]
no subject
Let me know. I'll get the pans.
no subject
[He takes a minute and looks them over, and gives them a sniff.]
They seem to be okay, as long as we cook them all the way through.
no subject
[She set down a pot to make the rice in (for all it had, a rice cooker wasn't one of the things in the tower) and a pan for the eggs.]
Omurice will do nicely, don't you think?
[Meadow]
... Thanks, you two.
[ It's just nice being out of that fucking Labyrinth and somewhere with... wildlife? Plantlife? He's a city kid, so you didn't get this that often, either. ]
no subject
You're welcome.
[It really is nice here. It's quiet, and the flowers are kind of pretty. He's not used to being out in nature either.]
no subject
Yeah, thanks I guess. [Which was actually pretty heartfelt, given who it was coming from. Regardless, he wasn't gonna waste any time digging in!]
no subject
[Not really, at least. Finding something to make that would fill them all up and taste half-decent with what they had to work with had been a challenge but it had been worth it.]
Go on then. Best not to let the eggs get too cold.
no subject
He is glad everyone is together, okay? It's nice to see everyone just... be together. Do this.
Also he has a surprise, because he saved the stuff from last time since he didn't get to make them, but he'll wait until everyone is done before he unveils why there is a small box with him. ]
[Media Room]
[It was a fine start for Jin at least; he was prefectly alright not talking about things, as long as Chidori was here and OK and all that jazz. He didn't have as much energy as he usually did when invested in interesting activities, but he was sitll game for it.
He took a seat next to Chidori once everything was set up, took the controller and scrolled through the map selection for a minute, before settling on a map that looked like a desert wasteland. Mostly flat, not a lot of cover, and wide stretches of land.]
[Media Room]
Probably what he was going for, honestly, the sneak.]
Try to last more than five minutes here.
[A boast and a challenge all at once, even as she loaded her weapon and prepared to start.]
no subject
If it were anyone else, he would've scoffed, but since it was Chidori, he let out a sardonic half-chuckle.] You act like I've never played before-- or beaten you before.
[And once the game was all loaded up, off the virtual characters weeent.]
no subject
That was then. This is now.
no subject
[Wasn't taking his attention off the screen though; he had learned to deal with the default weapons, so he was off to collect resources and go for the remnants of some building that was still standing.]
no subject
[That's one of the reasons he's better than her, honestly- Chidori is very picky about how things get done. That doesn't stop her from keeping her sights on that building off and on- no use playing if she's just going to get herself sniped for not paying attention.]
no subject
[And with that, he was perfectly content with settling into a comfortable silence. Honestly, neither of them were usually very talkative, and for as much of an ass as he could be, Jin wasn't much prone to trash talk. Well, mostly.
Luckily for Chidori, he wasn't attacking yet, he was darting around to collect stuff, until he finally settled on a structure to hide and continue scoping.]
