Characters: Claude Faustus
Setting: Starting in Room 3-16, possibly the libraries (19 or 3)
Format: I'll follow you!
Summary: To add to the string of newcomers, a spider demon has come to the tower. Of course, it might take a bit longer for one to get that out of him.
Warnings:Nada. Just Claude being Claude.
Room 3-16
[ He takes his awakening easy enough. More than most, truth be told. There is simply no panic, no reaction whatsoever save for the barest glance over to the letter. This too is read without much of a reaction. Except for the barest hint of a frown. Clearly, it unnerved him if only by the slightest. But then the paper is easily folded away and set aside.
However, were you to chance upon him much later, you would probably catch him doing something quite unusual. On his bed are gold plated knives and forks. All of them seem to be common tableware save for the fact that they're shiny and gold and carry a rather particular family crest at the tip of the handle. He's seated nearby, polishing them all to a flawless sheen. ]
--
Libraries:
[ This would have him rather busy: bustling about here and there as he begins to thumb through several volumes here and there. His selections seem random at the most; art, literature, cooking, science. The science volumes make the slightest frown come to his features however and those are quickly reshelved before he moves on to something else. However, he seems pay attention to books on crocheting for some particular reason.
But above anything, he seems more on a hunt for information though. ]

Floor Nineteen Library
Hey lookie Hitoshura! The History section's all gone! Like that network post guy said!
[She's right!...how odd.]
no subject
...so it seems.
[ And a glance over at Naoki though. ]
My apologies but I couldn't help overhear that little statement.
no subject
Oh you're so polite! Nice to meet you! I'm Pixie the Fairy, and that's Hitoshura.
3-16...roomie...
after a long moment of consideration, he steps into the room at last. ]
You've missed a spot.
[ approaching the bed on the opposite side of Claude, he picks up a spoon. he can see his own distorted reflection in the bowl of it as if he were looking into a tiny golden fun-house mirror. but when he turns it over, the other side isn't quite as bright; it's something that anyone with a less discerning eye might miss simply because they don't know any better. but Ciel knows better. without further comment, he holds the utensil out toward Claude for inspection. ]
no subject
Room 3-16 - Passing through ... sometime or another.
He observes Claude only briefly, before taking a seat on his own bed. He stares for a long moment before finally speaking.]
You just wake up, too?
no subject
Claude Faustus, butler to Alois Trancy. If I may be direct, however... what do you both make of this?
[ And a glance at the missing history section. ]
=v= hi thar roomie. broski. babyyyy.
But those eyes glance back to the spoon the earl's got before he sets down the knife with just the slightest hint of a frown. So he did miss a spot which is promptly polished away following a nod. ]
My apologies, Earl Phantomhive. I wasn't aware you were in residence.
no subject
Kind of pays to be a six foot something demon, doesn't it? ]
Anytime~
I would suppose.
[ Setting said knife back down after inspecting it and slightly adjusting his glasses. ]
Would I be correct to assess we all awake in this manner?
no subject
He looks to where he points and rubs Naoki rubs his hand on his chin.]
That's what I told him! Kinda weird, you know? Maybe they didn't want us to find something out...
[Those were his exact feelings, to be quite frank.]
no subject
Fuhito clears his throat softly before speaking. His tone of voice is low, but it has a penetrating quality.]
You haven't found what you're looking for.
[A statement, not a question.]
no subject
It would seem so. Same way of awaking, same letters...
...all nice and organized, to start with at least.
...uuuugh
[ that gets an upward tilt of his chin and a suspicious narrowing of his visible eye. he's certain that he's never met you before. ]
How?
[ at least he polishes the spot away without question--and without comment, too, snide or otherwise. it's nice to hear silence, for once, as opposed to the usual irritating retort. ]
no subject
[ He was hoping, at the very least to find something -- anything on the tower but to no avail. Of course, there was always the thought of asking other people but then Claude was never one for socializing.
But he shelves yet another book. ]
Would it be wise to wager you in turn have yet to find what you seek?
no subject
An interesting beginning, to say the least. However, if one is to believe such things, this would be another matter entirely.
shh babby. No disgust, only love.
As a real butler should be.
But the question however, were he to answer truthfully, it would be a bit of trouble for him and his highness should he arrive. So he chooses to go the most vague route possible. ]
My master the Earl Alois Trancy, is quite familiar with your name. It would be difficult to mistake the noble they refer to as the Queen's Guard Dog.
no subject
I wouldn't put it past them.
[ Glancing at the books again. ]
There hardly seems to be anything around.
no subject
Oh, thank you very much!
nope nope nope
I cannot say I have ever had the pleasure of meeting your master. [ he would remember if he had--especially as even his butler seems familiar with his title, which isn't exactly common knowledge in most of polite society. ]
Though what may I call you?
no subject
So, you don't buy what they're feeding us either, I presume.
[The way he says it, it's definitely not a question.]
nononocat.avi
Claude Faustus.
no subject
Is there anything here pertaining to the tower?
no subject
What they've said of our worlds being destroyed?
[ Look of consideration. ]
Not a word.
no subject
Yes, there's clearly a lot more going on here than we're seeing. What we see even just up front doesn't instill a lot of faith in their truthfulness. Then I hear about creatures roaming around this place, and death games...
[He furrows his brow.]
A friend of mine... Hidari Shoutarou... He's here, and yet the time he remembers coming from is months before the last thing I remember. Beyond that, he says he was apparently sent back to a ruined version of our world before being pulled back here yet again.
Even in spite of that, he doesn't seem entirely convinced, I don't think.
You saw nothing. >3>
Interesting.
[ And he muses on this a moment more, continuing his careful polishing. ]
I'm afraid I've yet to hear of the creatures or the... death games... as you so plainly put them.
no subject
[ this is all rather unnerving, actually. there's something off about Claude, and the fact that his master knows Ciel but Ciel has no idea who his master is only serves to further his suspicions.
he'll get to the bottom of this in one way or another. ]
no subject
Not really. All of the history books on the Tower have been taken out.
no subject
[ And he's watching Ciel a moment with those eyes, eyes as gold as the cutlery he was polishing before the earl called his attention. ]
Were he, I am quite certain he'd be more than eager to make your personal acquaintance.
no subject
[ This brings a measure of emotion to those eyes if only but a fleeting minute. A hint of irritation, just the smallest one. ]
How curious.
[Gmail sees ALL. ... And then life keeps me from tagging. /sob]
Nor how difficult such things will be to fend off.
;u; don't worry about it~
It would be a rather obvious advantage were one to explore the tower armed, as it were. There certainly can be no telling as to what awaits us.
no subject
Only all of us with collars and the monsters at night! I don't think they are demons either...
[She seems almost disappointed...]
no subject
Demons, you say? Of what sort?
no subject
Right.
I've got that covered well enough.
You?
no subject
Despite the fact they seem to be ordinary butter knives, they've managed to embed themselves in rather deep. If this is due to the knives or the demon's strength, who knows really? But that should be enough of an answer to the question of him being armed.
Showing is better than telling, of course. ]
(apologies for dropping this! jury duty!)
[He glances at the volume in the other man's hands. Crochet.]
At least from my perspective.
My name is Fuhito. I'm newly arrived here.
[Well, I'M impressed]
Impressed a bit, the corner of his mouth starts to almost curve up in a smirk, but it's only there for a fraction of a second.]
Good.
The more people that can fend for themselves, the better.
[As a mental note, he should probably get an idea of the sorts of people who COULDN'T fend for themselves here. If only to see who needed to be looked out for.]
[ =u= That's the Trancy butler for you. ]
Mortal men have underestimated more. ]
Certainly so.
[ Taking a moment to look at one knife in the light before setting it back down. His eyes glance slightly back at Ryu a moment. ]
Would I be correct in assuming you've seen the Tower for yourself?
[ Because really. First thing he did was read the letter then polish his knives. ]
No worries! Welcome back!
[ How curious.
But turning his attention to Fuhito before offering a small bow back with a hand to his chest. ]
Claude Faustus, butler to Earl Alois Trancy who unfortunately doesn't seem to be in residence at the moment. Newly arrived as you are.
no subject
Heard enough comments from others to infer that this is most certainly not the safe haven they want us to wake with the impression of.
Not even close.
no subject
Certainly not. It appears there could be far more than what they've allowed us to see.
[ But allow him to scoff a moment. Humans. Always thinking themselves so powerful. ]
no subject
[ okay you can stop looking at him like that, Claude. those eyes are more than a little unnerving, but he looks straight back at them, bold and confident. ]
As I would be to make his. [ if only to sort things out. ] But as that isn't possible at the moment, it is best that I make yours in his stead.
no subject
Which is precisely what I'm looking to find out.
[Certainly, he's not the first person to think such a thing and he realizes it. But he's completely serious all the same.]
no subject
[ Because there's way too much, he figures. This is a big-ass tower anyway. ]
