Characters: OU!Riku and OPEN~
Setting: Floor 3 and Floor 19 (Daytime, around Noon), Floor 29 (Daytime, until Nightfall), All around the tower (Nighttime)
Format: Action, but I'll match
Summary: Daytime: Riku has decided to get on with his quest to learn light magic. He is not very successful yet. Nighttime: Time to hunt down monsters!
Warnings: some violence maybe? Will add as needed.
[A - Floor 1, Floor 3, Floor 19]
[The days between Sora's death in the labyrinth and his revival are still a blur of numbness to Riku. It's better now that the presence of his scent has re-set itself in his heart, now that the blend of shock, despair and cold furry has kept him moving in those days has faded away.
What remains is some anger (at the tower and its games, at himself and his own helplessness) and an iron knot of determination to finally put all those gathered thoughts on Darkness, Light, the Dawn and their relation to himself into practice. So, right now after he got up sometimes around noon, he sets out to pick up some nutrition bars from the cafeteria, then to the libraries - first the one on the Third Floor, then the one on the Nineteenth - ready to raid whatever books he can find on light magic.]
[B - Floor 29]
[Once he's got what he needs (and potentially dealt with all distractions), Riku settles in the far corner of the garden behind the labyrinth, a place that he thinks should be a.) private and b.) peaceful enough for what he is attempting.
He is frowning down at his books, his legs crossed, blindfold removed and re-purposed to a bookmark - he knows he can probably forget learning how to access his light by book, but maybe they can at least give him a pointer.
About an hour into this he first leans back, eyes slipping close as he tries to reach for the light.
He knows he can do this.
He doesn't even think about the how every time the light wraps around his blade when he invokes his final limit.
Even so, drawing on raw light is different, more difficult, than drawing on darkness - at least to him - and so it's no wonder that he's frustration starts to show itself about half an hour later, the shadows around him darkening and tightening until he releases his breath.
He slowly opens his eyes and frowns down at his hands, then sighs.
Well... he's already known that this wouldn't be so easy. No choice but the try again.]
[C - all around the tower]
[Later that day, after nightfall, Riku is wandering around the tower, his hand closed tightly around the Soul Eater's grip as he follows the darkness-scent trail of roaming monsters. He may still have troubles with using the light, but darkness?
Darkness is his element.
Now that it has settled across the tower, he might as well take advantage of that, right?]
[ooc: Laaaate edit, but if you haven't please take a look at Riku's permission post!]

Yu nods back, lowering his katana even though more focused on making sure nothing sneaks up on them. It's so much harder without someone like Teddie or Rise with them...]
Hey. Guess you saw that, huh.
[He sighs. Not ashamed, no, just... Well, this would be the first time anyone aside from Nanako who didn't have a Persona who'd seen his power outside of those who also had the ability. It's not an easy thing to explain, especially since his is even more complicated than most of his friends'.]
no subject
He tilts his head slightly, shrugging.]
Would you believe me, if I said 'no'?
[Because well... he's more 'seeing' than seeing, but. Technicalities.]
.../late orz
[Considering that aspect of him serves as a tie to everyone, well... Welcome to being confused for quite some time, Strength-bro.
Yu cleans the blade while he can before sheathing it. If anything tried to attack, there's always another summon.]
After all, there's many different ways to 'see.'
[....How else would Riku have been getting around without walking face-first into a wall or falling down/up the stairs? It only made sense, even though the image was kind of funny and Alice was giggling somewhere in his soul.]
It's okay! <3333
There is still the elephant that is Yu's powers in the room though and even Riku really would like to know more...]
...I won't deny I'm curious. But... if you'd rather not talk about it that's fine too.
[It's really just returning a favor, all things considered. Yu had never asked him about the deal behind his blindfold either after all.]
(cozy) <3333
... I don't mind. At least, not as much as others might.
[Riku, if it were someone else, there would be a saying about a certain cat. Especially since his foil...]
Beelzebub is what's called a Persona; a part of myself I can use to protect myself and others. [Not a good first impression, he knows. That's why he adds:] He isn't the only one, though.
no subject
There's a faint frown flickering over his face - not due Beelzebub's appearance or scent; every heart holds darkness after all - but due the nature pf those Personas in general. Though... he supposes Soul Eater works similar... it was connected to his heart after all.]
A part of yourself? ...Like of your heart?
no subject
He'd chosen to follow this path, so he doesn't really mind them as much as he probably should in some cases. After all, he did have demons. The term 'heart' throws him off slightly, but then he remembers the different worlds.]
Yes and no. It's mostly a part of the mind and the soul, though one does exist in the heart.
[His true self. It seemed right, after all. He waves his hand over his face once again, the tiny blue lights and, now that Riku is closer, he can probably hear a small clink of magic forming like a sort of invisible mask over the other. He'll show it, the truth that exists within him.
The darkness gives way to light with the small noise as he switches Personas, and if Riku pays close attention... the amount of electricity is suddenly that much greater. After all... this one was called upon by all of his emotional ties to others.]

There is a faint charge of power lingering in the air, of strong light, just hinting of what that Persona within Yu was capable of and given what he had seen of that other Persona... he probably wasn't even sensing half of it.]
....Impressive.
no subject
...Nah, he probably would never run into them, anyway. Hopefully. And not on a bad day.]
Thanks. [Really, saying "not really, because truth doesn't remain hidden for long" seems like a dick move to someone who's wearing a blindfold when it didn't look like he needed one before.] Though, finding your way around with a blindfold on seems more impressive than a couple card tricks.
[...Okay, maybe he should lay off on the Tarot puns.]
no subject
So sure about that? Whelp then... let's hope you are right about that, Yu. Also thank you for not calling him on that, because yeah... it's not so much about hiding the truth as it is about buying himself time. It's complicated, okay?
He shrugs.]
Only when you don't know the trick.
[Okay whelp, no one besides Riku knows 'the trick'
not even his mun orz, so maybe it's kind of impressive after all.]no subject
He shrugs back.]
I doubt many know the same tricks.
[No one can summon Izanagi besides him, after all... no matter how similar certain skills may be at times.]
no subject
He nods, Yu does have a point there after all.]
True enough.
[But that's what made everyone different. Unique. Even if you take one person and copy their skills, memories and personality... the result is still not going to be the same. Nobody knows that better than Riku.]
