[o6] ‸^‸ Sixth Song.
Characters:
Link (Woods) and whoever happens upon them!
Setting: Floor twenty-five aka the Meadow Floor!!
Format: Action.
Summary: Link is training, because it takes their mind off of things, and because there was a lot to digest from that Q&A session, as well as the accidental post later.
Warnings: Flowers and training and also Ocarina playing! Oh, and if this counts as a warning... Link is a girl. She is hiding it, though. So unless your character has x-ray vision and can see her boobs or knows the truth, she will probably not admit it and will be otherwise lowering her voice and continuing to pretend she's a guy. ... Yeah.
[ One, two, three. Sword strokes, training, practicing, making sure that the sword in their hand... was worthy of being there.
When fighting, Link didn't need to think about all the things that bothered them. It was just them, and their blade.
Link had been making arrows, practicing with their bow, and fighting every night they got the chance. The monsters only grew stronger, but their resolve had only increased to not give up.
Eventually, Link moves on from the sword-training, rolling, jumps, and flips, to pulling out the various items and weapons the hero was known for.
The bow was first. Targets that Link had carved, strategically placed all over the floor, sometimes in very difficult spots, were where they were aiming. After not more than a minute to catch their breath, the Hylian began practicing their aim.
One bullseye.
Two misses. They'd gotten rusty due to getting accustomed to only one eye and compensating, so relearning to aim properly with both eyes now would be very important.
Every day, Link would come to this place, traveling the long way. Jogging, usually. They had a routine, it provided structure that the Hero of Time so desperately needed.
Navi was also gone. It wasn't fair, but they wouldn't give up.
Soon, the targets were all full of arrows. Some shined with a brilliant light. Some were on fire and subsequently put out. Some had icy sort of magic on them, freezing the targets solid. However, even Link gets tired, and runs out of arrows, so for now, the hero puts their bow away, sheathes the Master Sword and the Mirror Shield, and simply finds a spot in between the flowers so as not to harm them, resting, hoping to enjoy the peace.
... If you're particularly lucky, you may even come across Link playing their Ocarina later, still on the same floor. ]

... I suppose not. But I must say that this makes me appreciate our gift all the more.
[ Link feels very, very gifted to have been raised in the environment of the forest that they had. There is nothing more dear to the Hero's heart now, to be honest. ]
It is quite strange to meet some of the people here that I have, I must admit. My hope is that someday the things that we know might reach whoever follows the Hero of Winds, and whomever else that will listen. Surely we were not given ears simply to be deaf to our surroundings!
[ ... Eeeveeen if Link is a bit jealous of the kid, at times. ]

I spent much of my time listening to the Wind and Sea after I left the Forest. [And a bit of a nod.] The Great Sea is just as magical as the land of old.

[ After all, they'd never seen more than a Lake. ]
I am sorry for not truly speaking to you when we met earlier, but the circumstances were... not all that amiable.
[ You know, breaking into the Labyrinth. ]
no subject
Worry not, I take no offense. [Besides how much the Princess had been stressing, it was definitely not a good time.] Being able to speak with you now is a pleasure all the same. I hope you have been as well as you can since then, despite the outcome.

[ Courage, and all that. ]
Given the chance, I would gladly lay my life on the line for any of the others here repeatedly. I only hope it is not wasteful...
no subject
[aka courage =/= hardheadedness.]

[ The gaze here doesn't quite... meet Fado's. Link's smile falters a little, and it is hard to be honest here, but Link would rather not explain their own feelings.
Mostly, it wasn't selflessness so much as Link valued others far more than they valued themself. Of course, having no idea about the Triforce means that Link is entirely unaware of the whole "Courage" thing, simply believing it to be a notion from the idea Farore had chosen them.
Ridiculous, in their opinion. Courage wasn't everything. They... still had fears. ]

Has something I have said troubled you?
no subject
They'll have to work on that.
It's too easy to be off-guard around a fellow Kokiri (even if Link is Hylian, truly, they were their family), so Link needed to be more careful. ]
... It is just that--when you say "holder of Courage"... I do not feel that it is... quite accurate.
no subject
Why not? Do you not feel it is an accurate descriptor of your journey and your duties?
tags things from July during September like a pro
It... never mind.
[ It's not... really important. ]
only professionals up in here.
You needn't be so reserved or bashful around me, young Hero. I am merely a servant to you and the gods.
1-800-BACKTAGGERS where we tag things 2 months in the future
What could possibly be said? ]
... I would like to play with you sometime. Perhaps we could also rope the Princess into playing with us. She has a Harp, after all.
[ Wow look at that subject change isn't it great!! ]
