[o6] ‸^‸ Sixth Song.
Characters:
Link (Woods) and whoever happens upon them!
Setting: Floor twenty-five aka the Meadow Floor!!
Format: Action.
Summary: Link is training, because it takes their mind off of things, and because there was a lot to digest from that Q&A session, as well as the accidental post later.
Warnings: Flowers and training and also Ocarina playing! Oh, and if this counts as a warning... Link is a girl. She is hiding it, though. So unless your character has x-ray vision and can see her boobs or knows the truth, she will probably not admit it and will be otherwise lowering her voice and continuing to pretend she's a guy. ... Yeah.
[ One, two, three. Sword strokes, training, practicing, making sure that the sword in their hand... was worthy of being there.
When fighting, Link didn't need to think about all the things that bothered them. It was just them, and their blade.
Link had been making arrows, practicing with their bow, and fighting every night they got the chance. The monsters only grew stronger, but their resolve had only increased to not give up.
Eventually, Link moves on from the sword-training, rolling, jumps, and flips, to pulling out the various items and weapons the hero was known for.
The bow was first. Targets that Link had carved, strategically placed all over the floor, sometimes in very difficult spots, were where they were aiming. After not more than a minute to catch their breath, the Hylian began practicing their aim.
One bullseye.
Two misses. They'd gotten rusty due to getting accustomed to only one eye and compensating, so relearning to aim properly with both eyes now would be very important.
Every day, Link would come to this place, traveling the long way. Jogging, usually. They had a routine, it provided structure that the Hero of Time so desperately needed.
Navi was also gone. It wasn't fair, but they wouldn't give up.
Soon, the targets were all full of arrows. Some shined with a brilliant light. Some were on fire and subsequently put out. Some had icy sort of magic on them, freezing the targets solid. However, even Link gets tired, and runs out of arrows, so for now, the hero puts their bow away, sheathes the Master Sword and the Mirror Shield, and simply finds a spot in between the flowers so as not to harm them, resting, hoping to enjoy the peace.
... If you're particularly lucky, you may even come across Link playing their Ocarina later, still on the same floor. ]

Does this mean I can't stay in your blind spot and make mean faces at you anymore?
[It's meant to be a joke, but... this isn't really a fun subject is it, so he turns serious fairly fast]
No, really though. I'm glad to see you're alright. You had me worried for a while.
no subject
The things you don't know, Yosuke.]Unfortunately, I probably would have seen it through the reflection in my gauntlets, Yosuke.
[ It's not a blindspot if you're creative, hehe. ]
I am doing much better now, though. There is no need to worry. It takes far more than losing an eye to bring me down.
[ Not going to mention they had to die another time to get it back, though... ]
no subject
the things he doesn't know could fill a book, shush][His mouth falls open slightly though, and he has to laugh as well]
Well crap, I knew you were good, but I never would have thought of that. Remind me to bug you for lessons in being clever sometime.
And... good.
[He rubs the back of his head awkwardly, looking away]
Don't make me worry anymore, alright? You're a good friend, and I don't want to see any more good friends losing eyes or legs or any other body parts. Deal? I know, you're awesome and losing limbs doesn't slow you down, but still.

But oh Goddesses above give Link the strength to properly say this to him... how to tell him that some version of Zelda had nearly murderized them because, apparently, in their world, they were evil? The thought is still... hard to swallow. ]
It was... an unfortunate misunderstanding that caused that wound, or otherwise, I would not have received it. But I will try not to, in the future. I am sorry for worrying you.
[ ... Well, they're not promising not to die. Which they seem to be doing a lot.
And that aside, Link will never raise their weapons, truly, against an innocent person. Even if it meant their own death. Which is what caused that problem. ]

[A misunderstanding?]
[You have just made Yosuke's jaw drop. No way he can leave that just sitting there]
The hell kind of misunderstanding was that? I've had my share of misunderstandings, and I've been kicked in the nuts, I've been smacked, I've been pushed into a river, I've had people talk about me behind my back, but I've never had a misunderstanding that ended in someone losing an eye. I won't push if you'd rather leave it alone, but... what the hell, man? That's one hell of a misunderstanding freakout.
[Seriously. What the hell]

I... would prefer to leave it be. The person responsible thought they were doing what was best for everyone here. They did not know any better, and had a... lapse in judgement because of it.
[ Link is not going to add how they nearly died from being burned terribly upon... other... things. ]
I would be concerned that people would think of them wrongly if they knew more about it, that is all. I hope you understand.

You're too freaking nice, man. Protecting the person who took your eye out like that.
[He rubs his temples with his hands - what the hell is he going to do with you Link, seriously. Nobody is that nice. What even...]
Fine, fine. I won't think too badly of them - just that they're an idiot. I can't be quite as nice as you are.

... Truthfully, I am not one to hold a grudge against people, even with things such as that. I do not think there is anyone who could have been as bad to me as the Gerudo King of Evil. When put into perspective, it makes forgiving others a lot easier.
It would hardly be fair of me to... hold lingering dislike for someone. Though when it first occurred, I had a hard time believing it myself, and I was very angry.
no subject
Alright, you got me there. Anyone with 'King of Evil' in their name was probably a lot rougher on you.
Just... I don't know, man. I think of the worst person I ever knew - a lying, murdering bastard - and even if I saw him, I don't think I could gouge his eye out and call it for the best.
You're really something special to understand that kind of reasoning, Link.
no subject
[ Oops Link didn't mean to give the gender away amsldkfhg!! Okay okay backpedaling. ]
It was a case of highly mistaken identity involving an arrow. It was not as though... I could stay mad at her.
[ Link is a little embarrassed now... ]
And I... do not think it is all that special. I think it should not be, forgiveness, I mean. I think everyone should be able to forgive.
no subject
Well, I'll just hope I never get shot in the eye and have to put my forgiveness to the test.
But enough about that anyway. I didn't stop to bother you just to talk about your eye. It's been a while since we've had a chance to just chat! We need to catch up, Mr Hero!
no subject
[ Giving you an amused and pointed look. YES YOU ARE A HERO, DEAL WITH IT. ]
no subject
Woah, woah! You're way more heroic than me, and that makes you the hero in this room!
no subject
Please. You do not give yourself enough credit.
no subject
H-hey, I think I'm plenty awesome! I'm amazing! I'm just not quite as heroic as you.
