towerofanimus | I've got darkness and fears to appease.

Characters: Taiwan / Open
Setting: Stair-wells in the dark.
Format: Whichever! I'm good with third or first.
Summary: Taiwan's still rather new and afraid of the sudden darkness so she's blindly feeling around and proceeds to take a tumble down the stairs.
Warnings: None yet. Subject to go up though.

Somehow during the fiasco of everything becoming dark, Taiwan had been able to grab her trunk and dig through it only to hear the soft mewls and whines of a cat. Blindly, she touched the creature only to tell it was one of her wild cats that seemed to of stowed away in her luggage. "Ah- I'm so sorry! I didn't know you were there...It's okay now." She frowned, petting the kitty while keeping him safe in her arms.

Standing, she took a breath and grabbed the door handle and opened; she took a step outside in to the hallways and held her breath. It was dark...so very dark. "Come on. We have to find sister." She said to the small creature in her hand as she slowly walked along the darkened hallway as if it were a tightrope. Step by step was made cautiously until she was able to find another door.

"See, progress." She said to the kitten that mewled again in her sleeves. Opening the door up, Taiwan blindly felt around before taking a step and then another only to realize- uh oh- there's no step there.

Turning quickly, she held the cat tight against her as she tumbled and rolled down the stairs, going end over end before slamming in to the wall at the bottom with loud thud. Groaning, she made sure the animal was safe and when it curled up in her arms protectively she smiled weakly and pushed herself up. "I hate this place..." She murmured, feeling all the more dizzy in the dark.

"I'm alright, Kumario seems to be acting as a sort of helping guide. Do you need some help?" Canada edged out slowly, trying to make sure she didn't miss a step and take a tumble as well.

"Ah, just like male Canada. His bear thing is Kuma for short. I think it tries to eat him but then again- what doesn't." She shrugged before she shook her head and reached blindly out to try and find her way back. Carefully, oooooooh so carefully, she slid one foot in front of the other to make sure she wouldn't topple down anything else. "No it's okay, I'll come to you so you don't get hurt yourself. Just- hold out your hand please."

"...Eats him? Really? Huh--Oh sure! Sorry."

Canada held out her hand, watching for Taiwan to come back up. She steeled herself for the hand that would suddenly appear and grab her own. Everything has set her on edge and she is trying not to freak out Taiwan a little more.

And rather than a hand, her sleeve finds her hand. "Ah thank you." She said as she took a few more confident steps forward. After a moment, she reached out and gently touched Canada's shoulder before giving a sigh of relief. All the while, her kitten gave a small mewl of encouragement.

"So- what happens here, if I may ask? Are there any candles or lanterns anywhere?"

"It's no problem--Oh a kitten? Cute." Canada reached out and gave the kitten a pet, smiling fondly. Her smile hesitantly dropped at the questions.

"I don't know. There's lights in the rooms, sort of, but it's not something you can see by or remove."

"His name is Iriomote. Japan was kind enough to share him with me but- he's really rare now." She said while she nudged her head to the kittens that gave a small mewl.

"Maybe we should stay together in a room? At least then we can keep an eye on one another and if you want, I can keep watch and you can get some rest."

Canada gave her a wan smile, glancing back towards her room.

"That sounds nice...Rest and not dealing with these silly voices for a little...while would be nice."

"It's a deal then. I'll keep watch until you feel rested, okay? The worst thing that could happen with us being too cautious is getting exhausted." She said while her sleeve gave a small squeeze to Canada's hand before she blindly felt around on the wall. "Now...our room's what way?"

Canada looked around, peering at the rooms in either direction. She had no idea.

"I'm not really sure. It all looks the same. Shall we just walk around until we find it?"
