When things go bump in the night--

Setting: Stairwell and the oh so lovely cafeteria
Format: Starting in action, but I'll match you!
Summary: Neku wakes up in a terrifying tower and is immediately pissed off to high hell.
Warnings: I have a feeling you guys will be bringing the warning's to me.


Stairwell:

[People die.]

[People die a lot. He's seen more of it this week than he ever thought he'd see in his entire life, but it's one thing to watch someone die, and entirely different to watch someone die because of you.]

[Understandably, he's notably upset. This isn't where he's supposed to be. No explaination. Some random, psychotic freak out and he's wandering the halls, jumpsuit discared already for much more familiar, comfortable clothing, a reassuring chink of pins in his pockets--]

[Before walking straight off the edge of the stairs and doing a series of amazing, mildly painful tumbles and summersaults. And hitting someone.]

[It's really not his day.]



Cafeteria:

[And from bad to worse, this offically Is Not His Day. Perhaps it's morbid fascination that has his shoving the oatmeal around in his bowl, nose wrinkling as it squealches unpleasantly, looking like something a cat ate-- and hacked right up again.]

Right. [Pitiable offering or not-- he wasn't eating that. No way in hell.]

[He'd rather have a lumbo pack of muffins than touch this crap.]

[ If only he were a little less self-centered he might have thought of that.. he's more worried about his own neck, really, but everything seems fine. His ears are just buzzing. ]

Hey, if that means I get to be left out of it.. [ At least he's making an effort to stand now, if not just because what will happen if a girl walks by and sees him that pathetically..!! He's also dusting off his jacket a little before staring at the guy on the ground.

... After a deep sigh, as if it's almost bothersome to do this, he at least sticks out a hand to offer to help him up. ]

As long as he doesn't tell Neku what he... did. We're all good 8|;

[Talk about self preservation. Neku wouldn't have been able to take him seriously except... well, no; he'd always figured everyone was like this. It's a little jarring to realize after two weeks of seeing the complete opposite, that he's still right, in a way.]

Good attitude. [Ignoring that hand, he uses the wall to help himself up, dusting off his clothes and checking to make sure they hadn't torn. Shiki would kill him-- and she wasn't there to fix them, either.]

So... [Neku's timer is frozen, though he's not sure what to make of that just yet. It's a good indication that he's still in the Game, and if this guy can see him.] Where's your partner?

[He seems a little too conceited (and concerned about his own wellbeing) to be a Reaper, at least.]

LMFAO it's fine, he won't tell anyone if he can help it!!

[ .. He makes a bit of a face when the hand is just ignored. Sure, he finally tries to be nice and then this happens, huh? This is why he usually just doesn't bother!!

But even so, it quickly fades to make place for surprise at the question. Seriously, he looks so clueless it's practically comical. ]

Partner? ... You mean like.. my girlfriend or whatever? [ not that he has one.. ]
