That he did.

[He sighs, gaze returning to the floor.] ...Never thought it was possible to miss my family even more.

[AND THEN RUANA WAS STILL DOING THIS TO THEM ALL MENTALLY... at least that's what Yu suspects to be the case.]

Was it? [He doesn't give a damn whether Jin curls up within himself more, because no matter what he does or says it will probably never reach his ears otherwise.] Can you honestly say you were yourself when you did all that? That it was your choice?

[It's funny, how his voice can take a sort of icy coldness when he's angry yet won't shove it all off on someone. It wasn't Jin he was mad at, after all...]

[and then everyone was like this whenever the Admins did anything.]

[Luckily he's not that deterred by the ice in Yu's voice. He's kind of used to it, given who he hung out with normally.]

I-- [Were they? Even he didn't know. He had conciously made his own decisions up to this following moment, didn't he...? Hadn't he made his own decisions?]

N-- No... I don't know what I was thinking. [His arms steadily grew heavier, and they fell down to rest on the ground in front of him.] What... why did I... why...

[The more he thinks about it, the more he realizes; what happened this last month?]

[Yu lets him think on it for a little while, watching the gears turn in his head so to speak. Really, he's surprised it's even getting through at all, considering their ~~Social Link Rank~~ distance emotionally and philosophically.]

You weren't. [It's as simple as that.] Just like I wasn't the end of the first week, or anytime after that.

[But unlike Jin, he had no excuse.]

[But then everyone tried to rebel and they were like aw hell no.]

But I...! I still did it...! Why didn't I think to stop myself...?

[His thoughts were not his own, were they? He should be used to that sort of thing, after being forced to hear the words of his other half as if they were his own thoughts. But this time....

He groaned miserably, half in exhaustion and a bit of pain, bringing his hands up to cover his face. At the least, he wasn't the wreck he was a moment ago. His mind was still clear enough to think on his own now. At least, he thought so.]

What did they do to me..?

[ Here, he makes no comment to that. He feels he has no right to, after what they've gone through. He's not going to say, "Hah, I knew it!" or "I told you so"; no, he feels those aren't necessary things to say.

... After all, Yu is merely experiencing what he felt the first time this happened to him.

But unlike Yu, he knows two things now that he did not then:

One, that his sister is alive. And two, that she is in this Tower, not in these damnable pods, and that gives him some hope. ]

... When I was younger, that was all I used to think during the project. Someday I'd wake up and find out all the things that had happened would be over and my sister would be next to me, and my mother and father would still be there, telling me to help them with taking care of something or other. Or that a foreign relative would show up and free all of us. I had all sorts of thoughts about it, but I was just a kid, so I didn't really know any better.

_{[Sayaka had bristled indignantly (but silently) at Ruana's selection of prize, partly because of her altered vocal chords - and partly because the real person to be indignant on behalf of wasn't there right now, had been stifled and replaced by someone as good as one of the tower's drones.

Then the-person-who-wasn't-Jin did something strange.

He dropped the toy doctor's kit, and then fell straight to his knees in a purely anguished pose.

It took her mind a moment to actually catch up with what her eyes were seeing, but when it did.. Sayaka darted toward Jin in a frenetic mess of sound. Oh, yeah. That whole surgical alteration thing. Her potential words die in her throat before they can take on a single ♪, and Sayaka feels a long moment of profound aggravation.]}

_{[She had to clip his name in the middle for it not to turn singsong. She wants to say you're finally back, but she doesn't want her words to come out poisonously chimed.]}

_{[Life officially started being weird either when the mustachioed cotton balls showed up, or really started being weird when she woke up in a doom tower. Can't decide which was the turning point, there.]}

I don't like having all my emotions messy like that♪.

But if everything's the right thing to feel, I guess it can't be helped♫.

[The sounds Sayaka made as she approached him was enough to make his posture subconsciously veer off to the side-- dear god the cacophony the noise it was so loud it almost hurt-- making it even worse when he remembered it was his fault.

And dear god he just wanted people to stop saying his name stop stop stop--]

...all my fault....

[He himself wasn't sure if he wanted to apologize or absolve his guilt or something, he just wanted the world to stop]

_{[...Oh no, no way, NOT all your fault, mister. There's a bubble of angry in the back of her throat that pops into words, regardless of her earlier inhibitions:]}

No, it's NOT♭♩!

Don't start that, c'mon, don't start that even for a second--♫

If it's all your fault, then everything I did, when I turned into..♪

_{[She falters, for precisely the time a regular beat would be measured on a metronome. There's so many people here. Jin's been drawn into the limelight by Ruana, so of course they'd hear if she mentioned it -

...

You know what?

Like she cares.]}

...when I became a Witch. If this was your fault, all that's my fault! But it's not, right♬?!

[Her comment actually gets through to him, at least a bit. Moros isn't here to be noisy, so he still has some room for his own thoughts.

It gets him thinking enough to at least move his hand and idly wipe the edge of his mouth even though there was nothing there. As much as he can think between fluctuating levels of sickness and an utter disdain for all of the noise.]

...You didn't-- You don't-- remember... what happened. I-- I still remember everything... C-- Cutting everyone open... removing body parts, adding things that don't belong--!!

[He doesn't say anything as Arisato shares that little bit of information. Really, he should probably have seen it coming by now after that comment he accidentally said aloud, but it didn't change the fact that he was more than likely going to never remove that picture frame from beneath his pillow ever again.

Because they're not in this dreaded Tower. Because he's missing a crucial part of himself without them.

Because they were the first relatives he trusted like he does his old man...

Yu clutches his stomach, ignoring the sensation in his chest far too well for sanity's sake. The only hope he had was that they were either safe back home or at peace in some way, and even if he doesn't say it... that thought terrifies him. Especially since they almost lost Nanako once before...]

...I'm sorry to hear that. [He manages a weak, guarded smile.] You have your sister now though, right?

[Ken just raised an eyebrow and sat down near him. He wasn't going anywhere.]

[He just... sighs.]

Then get up. Stop regretting what you can't change anymore. Start doing what you can. 'I'll fight for what's right, no matter how much evil there is in the world.'

Yes, that was really scary... [He rocked a bit more, this was scary as well but it was better he thought... At least Ken seemed okay except his heart kept popping out and he was strapped down]

"He does, I bet he was a great hero wasn't he!" Romeo nodded and frowned, it had taken a while to heal, "But it was okay because I got to stay with doctor Casella and he was really kind, and Bianca was there and I got to spend Christmas there," it had been a very long time ago and he missed them.

[Ken reaches out and puts a hand on the back of Romeo's wooden neck, patting it a little.]

It'll be over soon. It has to be.

[Romeo couldn't feel it but he could see Ken and knew what he was doing, he couldn't smile either but he was a little happier.] It has to be, we've been here for ages!

Taiki blinked at him, not understanding the eye brow lift or that Legolas had even been speaking in a language he hadn't expected to be understood. "Me neither... seeing them... I understand why the gods of my world send kirin... so this can't happen..."

Except Taiki was a kirin, he was here but he was powerless to stop this cruelty.

Sorry... it's a disease... if the kings loose their way... become cruel or start to destroy the kingdom... the kirin gets sick and unless the king changes their way they will die, followed by the king...

...that sounds terrible.
