POD ONE: DAX

[On the first day of the second week, a squeal of revulsion will echo around the kitchen as the cook places Tara's breakfast in front of her. Three...eggs, yes, call them eggs...have been arranged neatly on her plate. But Tara looks absolutely horrified, her hands over her mouth. A look at the cook's face, however, is enough to confirm that there will be no appeal. Tara picks up her plate of balut and retreats to a table to eat her rather bizarre breakfast.

...if she closes her eyes and tries very, very, very hard not to think of the fact that she's eating half-living baby birds, they really don't taste that bad. But it's a bit hard not to think of the fact that she's eating half-living baby birds. Especially when she catches sight of them through the shell. An earnest attempt at trying to magically alter the taste of the food, or cast an illusion spell on herself so she thinks she's eating something else, does take the edge off. Anyone entering the kitchen after her will probably feel Tara staring at them, desperately trying to warn them with her eyes alone.

Tara looks at the treadmill with almost as much horror as she'd regarded the balut, before slinking off to the balance beams instead. As a girl who's spent most of her life studying the ideals of inner balance, Tara's outer balance still isn't that bad. In fact, when she only manages stretches of about an hour and a half at a time, before her legs start to hurt, she seems disappointed in herself, and will periodically return for additional attempts of approximately equal duration throughout the day.

As for the treadmill...well, Tara tries to visualize herself being chased by a vampire, or the Gentlemen, and, in doing so, manages nearly six miles after nearly an hour. But that effort will leave her exhausted physically and, most unfortunately, hungry. So, back into the kitchen for an equally awful lunch.. She realizes, as she tries to magick this into something less awful that she's low on power, again, and only likely to get lower...but, well, there doesn't seem any way to change that. Not without breaking the rules, and possibly getting voted out when she's something of a weak link already.

Even so, Tara occasionally finds herself staring at people, staring almost hungrily, sizing up her chances, wondering what sort of power they might have for her to take the edge off...

As the days go by, Tara will only be sick twice, improve her progress by a handful of minutes every couple of days on the treadmill, and try to engage people in conversation on the balance beams. It does get a bit boring, after the first half hour. Given that it's a matter heavily on her mind, anyone who joins here there will probably get this question at some point:]

POD TWO: RIKI

[Wriggle had only vaguely gotten used to the strange distortions in her living space. Instead of spending her time crawling or laying on the ground she'd gotten used to it enough to walk upright, although she would still stumble and fall occasionally.

Even her ability to fly was slowly improving. While she tried to walk where possible, after the first couple of attempts she just couldn't be bothered with the balance beams and tried to skip them wherever possible.

She doesn't mind the running so much, it helps her gain her balance back. However, due to not using her legs much it isn't long before they become heavy and stiff. Still, she tries whenever she feels up to it. It helps distract her from everything else.

The food on the other hand, honestly she doesn't mind it at all. In fact she rather likes it. As much as she adores insects she's very aware of the fact that they often eat each other, Wriggle is no exception. Eating slugs and snails takes her back to her childhood, the nostalgia is pleasant but it makes her homesick. She seems to have developed quite a taste for hachinoko though and happily digs in as she watches the others in the common room]

POD THREE: JASON

[Thankfully, Hei had been given an oddly simple task to do. His body needed rest from time to time, but otherwise, he would maintain perfect balance, face remaining neutral the entire time. Oddly enough, this was actually slightly good for his body. At the same time, too much was just going to be damaging to his body, especially with a lack of good food; thank god he didn't need to gorge himself.

For now, he remains silent, standing on the balance beam perfectly still, unflinching. Not much else he could do really.]
