Characters: Count Bleck ([personal profile] bleh_heh_heh_bleck), OPEN
Setting: Library
Format: Starting with prose but will switch
Summary: Bleck is just searching through books, seeing if he can find anything interesting.
Warnings: None

The books in the library were all available to him. All but the ones that were removed by the administrators. And Bleck didn't mind that. For now. No, he was focusing on magic, dark magic. Spells that hadn't been available in his dimension before he'd killed his people.

He actually felt a bit guilty about that now, but not guilty enough to regret it. No, Count Bleck regretted nothing but allowing his father to take Timpani from him. So he'll be sitting in the library, a pile of books nearby. And the Dark Prognosticus floating alongside him, as always. As focused as he appeared though, he wasn't. He was thinking of a certain human woman he thought was dead, might not be, but most likely is.

"Timpani..."

"Well, I mean, not... everyone. Just someone in my situation." That's the downside of being completely powerless in a caste full of psychics. You have to come up with other things that keep an income moving.

Ooooh, gurlfran', you did not just go there.

"It's perfectly sensible, actually." Equius looks up from what he was reading. "There are caste divisions via blood in our society, and each blood caste has different abilities that make them most suited for one job or another. So it's really quite efficient. Everything has a place."

"Yes. And that's why everyone here is so miserable." His tone of voice suggests he believes this wholeheartedly. But in reality, making ridiculous claims like these was really as much a coping mechanism as anything else; knowing that there was once a time that he felt this was true was good enough for him. The tower had basically thrown a wrench in every fact he took to be true, and even if he was only talking about this because of force of habit, it still made him feel better.

"Well, that's part of it," Equius remarked. "They're out of their element here. They've lost their place in their world, among the people they know. And what it's been replaced with is, well... this." He swept a hand around. 'This' was the entire Tower, horrors and all.
