[Thief of Heart? Pretty much the stupidest title Terezi has ever heard in her entire life. Ever. And there is no way he can make this a decent date. He might have fancy blue blood, but he's still Karkat, right?

Right.

She is so not ready to be wooed.]

[He looks between her and the spot dubiously before plopping down with a soft sigh.]

That was stupid.

[She nods, tracing the stitching on her cushion with her fingers.]

I didn't smell anything, though. Or hear anything moving. It was just that stupid laughing, and then...

[A rough swallow. His arms are folded tightly to his chest.]

Yeah. Me either.

[She's silent for a moment, then leans over and tries to tug his arms away from his chest.]

So we just won't go up there again!

[There's heavy resistance from him initially, but eventually his arms go limp in her grip.]

Good.

[Slightly awkward. She frowns.]

So... What do you want to do?

Couch is good.

[He sits there in silence for a second before lifting one arm to take her hand in his. Its a bit clammy to the touch, but he's stopped shaking at least.]

[She tilts her head, considering him for a moment. Sure, that room was pretty freaky, but they weren't hurt. Is he just as jumpy as her Karkat is? Terezi gives his hand an automatic squeeze and snuggles into the back of the couch.]

What's wrong?

[In fact, he is. But the difference between him and Redkat is that he bottles it tightly beneath stoicism. So aside from the glance of acknowledgement, all Terezi receives is a polite:]

Nothing.

[That might even be more irritating. She scoffs.]

Fine, whatever, just lie.

[That's a dig, but he doesn't come forth with the information. Instead, he moves to take his hand back because awkward...]

[Not so much a dig as her frustration finally getting the better of her. She's been dealing with this stupid "NEVER TALK ABOUT ANYTHING EVER" attitude for six hundred hours now, and even though her Karkat did it out of some weird delusion of what a leader is supposed to be and unparalleled self-hatred, it's still the same shit. Terezi doesn't try to stop him from pulling his hand away, she simply crosses her arms and falls silent.]

[Sorry Terezi, Karkat is still cagey Karkat. After a few moments of this, he speaks again.]

Has anyone told you what the deal with this Tower is?

No.

[She shifts her weight and sighs.]

Just that our worlds were destroyed and we can't leave.

We knew the first one already.

[There's a deeper inhale on his part before he seems to lose most of his tense posture. Karkat leans back and puts his arms behind his head, staring at the ceiling.]

[She nods.]

But I guess the Incipisphere is gone, too.

I guess anything is better than that.

What were you doing before you got here?

[Somehow 'Killing my best friend' sounds like a mood killer.]

Checking to make sure the humans hadn't done something stupid to fuck us over even more.

[Well the mood can't really be killed any more than it has been.]

Like what?

[He would take that bet.]

Like stopping to play cards or something, I don't know. I wouldn't put it passed them.

That's stupid! Why would they do that?

Because they're dumb humans! Half, if not all of them, are fucking insane.

Well... They did mess up their session pretty bad. But they can't be that dumb.
