Summary: Newbie having something like a quiet mental breakdown in the library. Approach him during any part of his information gathering.
Warnings: None.

[As soon as Tim had arrived in the tower, he was determined to find out why he was brought here. Sorry, but he's not buying anything about his world being destroyed. He's helped save it far too many times to accept that.

So, the only logical place to go (besides interrogating various workers and other kidnapped people) is the library. Unfortunately, there was no section on the history of this place or even other worlds, so now Tim is striding quickly through the aisles of bookshelves, pulling books down at random to hold in his arms. That's not all of them, though -- just outside one of the aisles is a group of stacked books, unnecessarily high, where Tim is dumping them all.

Eventually, he sits cross-legged in the middle of all the stacks and starts to flip through the books at speed, skimming them for information. He doesn't particularly care if he looks odd; it seems like a good portion of the people here are just as curious about this place as he is.

As he reaches the end of a rather thick encyclopedia, he discards it a bit roughly and groans to himself.]

Oh, come on, there has to be something useful hidden in one of these books.

[Circling Tim again, and smiling, and poking him, AND INVADING ALL OF THE PERSONAL SPACE for science]

Oh man that is so cool! You have a cape? I've always wanted a cape! I suppose I could get one, but River would shoot it. She does that, you know, shoots the things I love. Like my Fez and my Stetson and and and--

But on topic! You're a superhero! Do you have superpowers? Or are you like Batman? No powers, no kill, yes cool. With all the night and the robins and the gravely voice and the capes. Very awesome. I always liked him best. Does what he has to, even if people hate him for it. Good man. After my own heart...s. 'Course I'm not much like Batman, more like Gandalf, only less beardy. [MAKES LONG BEARD MOTION] 'suppose I could grow one, but I'm afraid River would shoot that too, and well...Beard is on my face, bullets would go on my face...not fun! Very much unfun, actually.

But you! You could grow a beard! You're a superhero!

...Don't grow a beard. You're more a Batman than a Gandalf.

[Oh good, he got it. ...Except now he's shouting it out to the whole library. And wait--]

You know Batman and Robin? [Is he fictional in his world like the Doctor is fictional in his? This is bizarre. He makes sure to lower his voice.] I was Robin.

And I would appreciate it if you didn't let the whole library know.

'Course I know about Batman and Robin. They're famous. The Dynamic Duo! There's comics, and movies, and t.v. shows. They protect the place with the 'G.' What'sitcalled. Greenland, Germany, Galway, Galveston, Ganganagar, Glasgow, Gomer, Goshen, Gotha, Gotham! That's the one!

[LOOKS LIKE HE'S ABOUT TO YELL but doesn't] Ooooooh, right, it's a secret. Secrety secret identity.

You look different in real life, you know. The hair's floppier, the eyes are bluer, and slightly farther apart. The face is a different shape. Actually. You look completely different. Same basic traits, but distinctly separate.[squints] I think the name's wrong too. The t.v one was a color. Redson. Blueson. Blackson. Greenson--Grayson. That's it. I remember.

--wait. Was? Why was? Are you not anymore?

Dick Grayson was the first. [At the mention of his brother, Tim's face goes blank. Better not to think about it.] I was the third. Now there's a fifth. [And now a subject change.]

Movies and TV shows? Are they good?

Five. [ WHY SO MANY not that he has room to talk, with all of his companions]

...the quality varies! Ups and downs. Goods and bads. Always like them, though, I do.

Five. [He smiles.]

You seem a little too happy to be a Batman fan.

And you seem to be too much of a good person to be a fan of someone like me.

Don't be ridiculous.

I'm not a hero, Tim. Keep that in mind, regardless of how I've been portrayed.

I'm not a good man, and I'm not invincible.

[And subject change]

So you've only seen up to the tenth then, eh? I'll try to avoid the spoilers, as River would say.

[He understands subject changes.]

I don't mind spoilers. It's not like I'll be able to watch the new episodes anytime soon.

But there's loads of spoilers, big spoilers, flying spoilers, kissy kissy smoochy smoochy spoilers, timey wimey spacey wacey spoily oily spoilers.

[DRAMATIC PAUSE]

We're a thing.

[YOU MAY NOW APPLAUD MY SUAVEOSITY]

What? [His eyes widen. That isn't the spoiler he was expecting.]

But isn't she...? [Dead.]

No--well, yes, except not. She's a time travellor too!

[WHY AREN'T YOU EXCITED FOR THE SPACE MAKEOUTS]

[He still looks mildly shocked, but he's in the process of composing himself.] That's one way to beat the system.

It's the best way to beat the system.

But that's River for you. Brilliant River. River Song. My companion.

She's your companion now? Or was, before here.

Well. No. Sort of. A little.

It's complicated.

But you, you're a superhero. I bet you've got a girl. Oooh, a girl. You've got to have one. All superheroes have one. The Mary Jane to your Peter Parker. The Catwoman to your Batman. The lady to your gentleperson.

What's her name? I bet it's nice, like River. Wait. No. River's not a nice name. River's an evil name belonging to a mean woman who shoots hats and tells me to turn the parking breaks off and is the best at smoochy smoochy and--

Not the point! The girl is the point! Is she cute? Do you fancy her? You do, don't you? You fancy the pants off of her!

Do you want to talk about it? We can talk about it. Eat crisps and talk about girls. It's a thing I do now.

Well, tried to do. Ish. Kazran wasn't really ready for it. Of course, it's not like he needed my help. Just ran off for smoochies, and left me all alone with Marilyn Monroe. Very rude of him. I don't know how I survived. I almost got married. Again. She's very persuasive.

I don't have anyone right now. [He has the decency to look regretful while admitting this and runs a hand through his hair.] I kind of screwed that up majorly.

Oi, what's all this then? Why are you making that face? Screwing up is only temporary, you know. You can always always always always fix things or move forward. That's one of the wonderful things about humans, they're quick to fix and to forgive.

I can't exactly fix things now, can I? [Aaand subject change is a go. Acting like that part of the conversation didn't just happen.]
