01 - The Beginning Of Things
Characters: Kanaya and everyone!
Setting: Starting off at room 2-07 then continuing to anywhere
Format: I'll follow you
Summary: Kanaya wakes up and starts exploring
Warnings: None yet, but may involve green typing if text is involved
[A young woman, barely more than a girl, with gray skin and candy corn horns steps out of room 2-07 after taking the time to change from the bodysuit into a nicer outfit that seems to coordinate with the color. If she must wear the unfortunate thing, there was no reason to have it clashing with her outfit. There's a small amount of fear and uncertainty in her eyes but she puts on a calm and friendly face. Generally better to not start out in an unfamiliar place by running around like a squawkbeast with its head cut off. Instead she calls out in a clear, enunciated voice.]
Hello? Is there anyone around that could provide me with some assistance?
[If there is no answer, she continues to explore the tower, an inconspicuous bottle of lipstick clutched in her right hand. Some systematic wandering may turn up some answers, right?]

Aleph was just about to return to his room nearby when he heard her call, and instead stops and answers her.] What do you need?
no subject
To put it quite simply, what is this place? How have I been brought here? And for what purpose?
no subject
Sorry for the lateness! My family kidnapped me for a reunion!
No worries!

want to try your luck, girl?]
no subject
Excuse me, but might you be able to help me? I'm afraid that I am unfamiliar with this place but as you do not seem to be in any haste may I assume that you are more informed about it?
no subject
[hahahaha oh Kanaya you naive girl you. Rose doesn't look up from her book, voice flat and disinterested.]
Whatever. The letter's a bunch of shit, the tower gets off on making us as miserable as possible, you can't die, and you can't leave. Did I use too many words for you or is that good enough?

[Yes. It would.]
[On his way up to the forth floor however, he can't help but notice the grey girl and stop two floors early. Clearly he's dealing with another member of Karkat's species here. Trolls, right? Yes. Though not the kind that live under bridges. He makes a small detour in his trek upstairs in order to go talk to the grey alien girl instead.]
You wouldn't happen to be a friend of Karkat's by any chance, would you?
Hi there cutie face! 8D
[But a strange hornless person! At least this one seems friendly. She smiles warmly at him...and then proceeds to talk his ear off.]
You know our fearless leader? Yes, he is a friend of mine. Is he here then? The last I saw him he was shouting about our forthcoming interactions with the humans but then I seem to have lost consciousness and awoken in this strange place. Do you know much about it? The letter I found by the oddly shaped and slimeless recuperacoon was terribly vague and uninformative about.
hello! ouo
Not very well, I only spoke to him once and that was on the day I arrived here. It's just that you are a troll as well so I figured there was a chance that you two knew each other. Anyway, I am fairly new to this place myself so I far from the master of the tower's mysteries or whatever. But I do know a few things.
[He starts counting off on his fingers as he lists off the random tidbits he's learned over the past few days.]
For starters, there are monsters that roam the tower though they are far more active at night. They can't get into dorm rooms for some reason though so it's best to stay inside after dark. The tower seems to be run by five people and possibly some shadowy lab men on the side, nobody's really sure. They sometimes do really deranged "experiments" [Air quotes for good measure.] many of which have the unfortunate side effect of horrible and painful death. For your first meal you have to eat oatmeal otherwise you will puke and nobody wants that. The collars [He tugs on the violet tubing around his neck, which is sadly still not blue. Which, in addition to being the best color there is would match his suit wonderfully.] have to be checked on certain days and if you don't go willingly, you will be knocked out and dragged there anyway. Let's see, what else? Oh! There's a media room on the fourteenth floor though their movie collection leaves a lot to be desired and two libraries: one on the third floor and one on the nineteenth floor.

tries to beis, Jade makes her way down the hallway towards the source of the voice.]'Sup.
[Huh. That...kind of looked like Kanaya, it did sound like her....
...]
Where'd you get the new duds?
no subject
New...duds? To what are you referring? This is a preexisting outfit of mine, only slightly altered to cover the strange collar I awoke with as there seemed to be no simple way to remove it. And orange is such an audacious color, it is very difficult to coordinate much to it.
[There she goes rambling again.]

She already talked a lot more nicer/formally than her roomie did, although she still rambled just as much.]
Isn't your zodiac symbol usually red though? Apparently it was a Big Fuckin' Deal.

Hi there! Are you lost? ...not that I would really be able to help much with that but hey, we could get lost together and therefor find our way around together. And that would be better than nothing, correct?
no subject
Perhaps not lost so much as I don't know where I am to begin with but I agree that being lost together is more enjoyable than being lost alone.
[She watches the strange thing bounce around a moment longer before asking,]
Are you by any chance one of the humans? My intent is not to be rude but I cannot help but notice that you lack horns. Unless you lost them in an accident in which case I am deeply sorry to have brought up such a sensitive topic.
[The lack of grey skin was another matter entirely. You can't just ask someone why they're white afterall.]
no subject
[At least, not in tact.]
[Kanaya looked confused. Lost. It had been so, so long since he'd seen her in the Tower - and even then, they hadn't interacted. The only time he really got to speak with her was briefly through text before she disappeared. He wasn't really certain how the whole "sent back" thing worked. It would be interesting to find out - if he wasn't feeling so God damn atrocious.]
[A spark of energy flitted through him, before abruptly dying out. The innocent, hyperactive boy he used to be wanted nothing more than to run up to her, honking all the while, welcome her back, and offer to show her around the place, babbling nonsensically through the entire tour.]
[But as soon as he thought about that, he thought about how he wouldn't be able to do it. He couldn't even muster up the enthusiasm to greet an old friend. One he'd been worried for since she'd gone.]
[He didn't even know if he wanted her to notice him.]
[
But really, how could she not, with glow-in-the-dark pink hair. But that's beside the point.]Ohmygod baby ;3; Come to Kanmama. No wait...that's next post. In the meantime:
GREAT HOLY MOTHER GRUB YOUR HAIR!
omg kanaya pls
[As down in the dumps as he was, he had not grown immune to his lack of preparation for loud, sudden noises, and Kanaya's outburst caused him to have one of his own in turn.]
HONK HONK HONK HONK HONK!!!
[Holy fuck holy fuck wow she yelled pretty loudly fuck shit.]
[Gamzee had sprung back as quickly as he could, punctuating his flailing limbs each with their own honk from his hoarse throat. It had been unintentional, but the honking and flailing and childlike surprise had actually managed to lift his spirits a little. Even if he was still flailing.]
Why don't I have I have an icon of her laughing?

He put the controller down though, hearing Kanaya.] It's pretty far out to be asking for help. Your roommates dicks or something?
no subject
Roommates? I did not see anyone in the room I awoke in but I left rather quickly after putting on more suitable attire. What is it that you are playing?
no subject
I have no fucking clue, but it's a good time waster. [He wonders which one she is.] Dave. I'm not really doing anything, so I guess I can help.
Sorry this is so incredibly late!
Take your time! :)

She wants to know for sure, so she starts heading toward the source of the sound, calling out as she gets closer...]
Hello? Kanaya, is that you?
no subject
Aradia, I'm so happy to see you. Do you have any information on this strange tower? I've only just arrived and don't know much about-
[She stops suddenly and stares at Aradia.]
You're actually alive...and not a robot?
no subject
I haven't been here all that long either... I haven't even explored all of this floor yet.

It's time she's made to face facts, it's just as Eridan had told her. ]
Oh.
You're... You are Kanaya, aren't you?

Yes, I am. I don't believe we have been introduced yet however.
