(no subject)

Characters: Yuri Tsukikage & anyone who happens by.
Setting: Room 1-11, Dorm Halls, Floor Three/Library
Format: Prose, but can roll with anything in replies.
Summary: Yuri wakes up. Let's try and fight depression, shall we?
Warnings: None yet, besides Yuri probably being sort of emo at first, will add more if anything crops up.

*Room 1-11

Yuri knew what her friends would expect of her, and that they wouldn't want to see her shaken. They wouldn't want to see her cry.

Resisting all of that was pretty difficult as she sat on her bed, pouring over this letter again and again.

After everything they had done, after rescuing their world when it had been reduced to nothing more than a literal desert... To think that it all could have been for nothing, and everyone - her friends, her mother, and everyone they saved - could just be gone in a snap, just like Cologne and her father...

She folded the letter up, sliding it into her jacket pocket alongside the Heart Pot's lid.

She took several deep breaths, trying to compose herself. She recalled Tsubomi's words when they faced Dune. She tried to focus on that, and draw strength from it. If she was going to figure out what was going on here, she would have to keep control of herself and her emotions.

If she lost it, then she might as well have no hope, and then where would she be? She couldn't let herself become that person again.

She refused to.

*Dorm Hallways

Once she had a better hold of herself, Yuri left the room to explore. Not knowing what she might possibly be facing, she kept her transformation items within quick reach.

This could easily be a trick, or some type of trap. She wasn't naive enough to think Dune's defeat meant the responsibility of the Precure had also left. There could always be another enemy.

A situation like this certainly rewarded that paranoia.

*Library

Inevitably, after mild exploring and a trip through the cafeteria - where she consumed her oatmeal without complaint - Yuri instinctively gravitated towards the third floor Library.

It was a small comfort to find something like this, honestly. She quickly took to exploring its contents, more than anything looking for a means of distracting herself while she pieced her mind together.

Enoch couldn't imagine what it was like. It was no wonder, really, that Gandalf had such a grim view, for all his stance as a wise leader. And to think all their worlds may look that way...he reached out to put a hand on the stranger's shoulder - the shudder hadn't gone unnoticed.

"Others say they've seen that our hosts may delay the destruction of a world, and the way people are brought here proves they are outside of time..."

Enoch tried giving her shoulder a reassuring pat. "If they can access the world at any point in time, perhaps they will find a way to prevent it."

It surprised him, how easily such a concept came to him. Spending three months in Meridian, with someone who was from his future and thinking on the repercussions of what might change under his hand...would Lucifel be proud of him? ...If Lucifel was...alive?

"We all will." Enoch relaxed a bit. If he'd brought someone hope, well...it was all he could do, in a place like this.

"We need to hope for something here."

He gave her a smile and a nod in return.

"Giving other people hope where I can is the least I could do."

It was really closer to the most he could do, or that was how it sometimes felt. But that was that, if all that was left what was a part of his old duty as a priest.

"I can't always offer guidance, but I will always try."

He had to try. Often as doubts and grief crept in on his hope for himself, lately, he had to know other people wouldn't suffer the same.

*Not introducing himself was a habit he'd picked up thanks to immortality - that was the first step in getting attached, after all. Too bad his ability to avoid the other steps while actually keeping up a conversation was rather hit-or-miss.

At least he wouldn't be rude when asked for his name.*

Ah, I'm sorry; I tend to forget. My name is Enoch.

Sorry for that random style switch.

If Enoch asked about names that seemed odd to him, he'd be asking nearly everyone he met about their names - as it was, it wasn't necessarily something he'd bothered himself with unless it was something unusual even for him. After all, some angels had some odd names in context. Armaros in particular had a name Enoch couldn't place a meaning to, sounding close to but not quite the name of a mountain on Earth of all things. Lucifel's name mixed two usages - thankfully part of the same language due to there only being one language in Enoch's time in his world.

"Nice to meet you," Enoch returned politely. "Stay safe."
