Characters: Link and Fi
Setting: Exploring the depths of the tower
Format: I'm writing prose but don't mind other formats~
Summary: Despite Fi's words, Link goes in search of his Zelda within the tower.
Warnings: ~~I calculate the chance of death in this thread to be 95%.~~ nm nm chances for Link entering the Bucket Soccer World Cup is low but the chances of him sulking around the Tower being sulky have risen astronomically.

Link emerged from room 3-16 in his Knight Academy uniform, the Master Sword strapped to his back, Adventure Pouch strung around his waist, and the Sacred Bow in hand. He found carrying the bow to be...cumbersome, but it was a far better ranged weapon than his Scattershot.

He looked to Fi once he stepped out of his room, a nervous grin on his face. "It's gonna be weird having you out like this all the time," he said, amused. "Not that I mind."

"If her name is not connected to any of the rooms on the dorm floors, than she is not in the tower." A sad truth but the truth nonetheless. Fi couldn't help but worry about how Link would handle Zelda not being here.

"There are others here that will watch for her, if she is not."

He wouldn't handle it well. If that wasn't obvious right now.

"Then I'll search outside of it!" he says, starting to walk away from the door.

"Master Link."

Wow, she had almost forgotten just how determined he could be. She didn't really want to infodump him but at this point, maybe she would have to. If only to ensure that he wouldn't get himself hurt.

"There is no way outside the tower. There are no exits."

He turns around quickly. "Well she couldn't have just disappeared!"

When it comes to his Zelda? Yes, he's unstoppable.

Fi's never lied to him before, never told him things that weren't true or helpful, but... He just can't believe Zelda's gone. Because if she isn't here, then she's back in his world. And that might mean...

...that this is all a dream. It has to be!

"She could have Master, it has happened before. Several people have disappeared in the past. It would not be a strange occurrence if it happened once more."

Fi was incapable of lying to her masters. Or in general really but she was able to omit some truths if it was necessary and it had barely been so since she had arrived.

"But..."

She said could have. Could have. There's still a chance...

"I'm...I'm going to go look for her!"

He starts to move faster towards the stairs. Fi can't stop him, can she?

The spirit actually sighed, surprisingly, and floated right after Link. Her feet never touched the floor and wouldn't until they would end up on a floor that restricted her powers.

What point was there in arguing with him, and not even arguing really, because she knew very well how determined he could be. He wouldn't be the same Hero he was otherwise.

Link doesn't stop moving until they reach the thirty-seventh floor. It was pointless to search in floor thirty-eight. If she were there, this whole search would've been pointless. Someone would have seen her and told him where she was--or she would have answered his call on the network.

But once they reach floor thirty-seven... How's he going to find Zelda when he can't see anything?

"...Fi? Is the whole tower like this?"

"No, Master Link. Each floor is different. This floor is completely darkened, nobody would remain on this floor longer than it takes to reach the stairs and move on."

She was a bit excited for him to see the aquarium floor, that was a sight to see. And, undoubtedly, one that he would appreciate. Hopefully one that would distract him from his search long enough to meet with someone who could tell him the same as she had.

"You will find many strange things here Master. And many dangers."

"--are you positive Zelda's not on this floor? She could've gotten lost here. Easily."

People are certainly free to tell Link exactly what Fi's told him, but that doesn't mean he'll listen. He's sailing merrily down the river of denial.

"I am certain, Master Link. Her Grace is a very intelligent young woman, she would not have allowed herself to become to easily lost."

That river has to end eventually. Maybe in a crashing waterfall of reality?

"But--"

She's right. Zelda managed to survive being on the surface by herself, for the most part. Sure, she had Impa to help her, but Zelda... She was training to be a knight, too.

"--what's the next floor like?"

"The next floor down will be slightly more taxing, Master. The steps will fall and there will be large gaps that must be leapt over. I recommend haste when passing through to the set of stairs following."

Oh yes, Fi knew quite well of Zelda's capbilities. And the fact that she was Hylia reborn only added to that, knowing how well her creator handled a sword.

"Okay." He'll ask about the floor after that once they get there.

As expected, he's as spry and athletic as ever overcoming the obstacles of the thirty-sixth floor.

Once they're on the next floor, he stops. So this is what it looks like outside...?

Fi is surprisingly athletic as well, for a spirit that he's only ever seen dance about the air and on top of water. She continued walking after that, still incapable of returning to her usual floating and looked around at the floor and the floating island and lake.

"Impressive, is it not, Master Link?"

...

"..."

That would translate roughly into 'Fi why are you on the ground what how what what what what and also nani?!'

Fi tilts her head slightly, not quite understanding yet. She wasn't quite telepathic when it came to Master Link, as she was with Scrapper.

"Is everything alright, Master?"

"You're on the ground..."

Even if she could be telepathic with Master Link...

...would she want to be?

(On the other hand, it could be useful, albeit depressing, knowing what's not going on in that vast empty space inside of his skull.)

She... probably wouldn't want to be, no. Her thought processes were complicated enough, in design.

"I am, yes, Master. There are certain floors here in the tower that render me incapable of flight. It was disorienting in the beginning but I have grown used to it."

Well, then, he's just gonna... ... ...yeah.

"...what's at the bottom of that lake?"

"I do not know. I am incapable of scanning it." Or anything on this floor. She's not going to say that though. Omitting truths, hell yeah!
