"The time has come," the walrus said, "To talk of many things-"
Who: Xion and Sora, Xion and Reno
Where: Reno's room, then... floor 20
When: BACKDATED LIKE WHOA - ]August 5th
What: Xion has a talk with her heartdaddy (who just found out he is a heartdaddy) about the stuff he saw in her dreams.
Warnings: Talk of self-sacrifice. ALL THE SADS.
[Awareness seemed to return slowly once Xion finally woke up. It was sort of familiar in a way. When she finally blinked her eyes open... it was to see the ceiling. Which didn't say a lot, since all the ceilings were the same in the Tower. At that point though, she looks down, lifting her head a little to look around and frown. She'd... been dreaming hadn't she? What'd happened...?
At least she wasn't alone when she woke up.
-----
Later, once she finishes speaking with Reno, she can be found sitting on the edge of Floor 20, clinging to the reminder of the clock tower in Twilight Town. There was a lot going on inside her head - thinking about the dreams, what she'd seen, how much she'd missed... misses... eating sea-salt ice cream with Roxas and Axel...
And also about Sora. Sora, who'd seen her talking with Riku in that memory of hers. Sora, who now knew so much more than she'd ever planned on him knowing. Everything had been fine the way it was, why did it have to change?
She's also not really paying attention to her surroundings, too lost in thought to do so.]

But it meant that there were some things he had to do now. Some people that he had to talk to. Xion was one of them. Before, he hadn't wanted to push her into telling him something that she didn't want to talk about, but now...well, it was a little too late for that. There was no avoiding it - Sora had get everything straightened out with her.
He needed to really understand what had happened, who she was...and what she was to him.
Finding her on the 20th floor is a coincidence; he had just been going downstairs when he saw that the floor wasn't empty, and stopped completely when he thought he recognized the person he saw. There she was.
Well, no time like the present.
Sora steps off the stairs, and doesn't speak until he's just close enough to not have to shout.]
Xion?

No. Not this soon. She's not ready. She isn't ready for this now. She may never be ready and there is a part of her that is perfectly okay with that. That wants to run and hide from this forever, rather than face the reality of what Sora will undoubtedly want to talk to her about.
And it's that part she listens to standing up and... freezing for a second, staring at Sora's feet because she can't look at his face. She can't imagine the expression he has. Or maybe she can and she just doesn't want to face it. She knows by now, knows he won't hate her and won't be angry and will want to fix it but she can't face him because he can't. He can't fix this without sacrificing himself and she doesn't want to do that doesn't want to hear it-
And then she bolts, sprinting past him for the stairs, choking back a sob as she does.]
sobbing forever
[Sora barely has time to react when Xion runs past, though he turns around and watches her while trying to process what's happening. What's happening again, even though it's never happened with Xion (at least, not this Xion) before. For a few seconds, he can only stand there in shock.
She probably knows, then, what he's here to talk about. And she must really not want to talk about it. For a minute, Sora considers letting her run.
But...
There are too many questions. Too many things that he needs to know.
And maybe it's time he understood why people don't want him to know.]
Xion, wait!
[He rushes for the stairs, chasing Xion as fast as his feet will carry him.]

She can hear his footsteps behind her, loud against the walls stairway. The delay had let him gain on her a fair bit, she guesses. Please, Sora, please just let her go. She isn't ready, she doesn't want to explain this - doesn't know how.
She stumbles forward and up again.
Please.]

But he feels even worse when he sees her trip, especially with the way she's so determined to pull herself up and keep going. It makes Sora second-guess himself again, and were it not for all of the momentum he had already built up, he might have stopped.
He had to understand, though. He had to. And Xion was the only one who could answer his questions.
Eventually, he does catch up with her. Once he gets close enough, he reaches with the intent of grabbing her arm. It takes a moment to catch his breath, but he starts talking as soon as he can.]
Please, wait! Just for a minute, okay?

The reaction is instinctive, and exactly the same as it was last time... almost. It's only halfway through summoning her Keyblade that she realizes who this is.
Sora might see a familiar flash of light in her other hand, the telltale shing of metal appearing into thin air, but when Xion closes her hand, it's empty.
For a long time, she says nothing, every muscle tight and tense and unhappy. Then, finally, her voice very quiet - so much he might have to strain to hear her, unless he's listening carefully]
Okay.

The quiet drags on for moments after that, and Sora doesn't do much apart from waiting out the silence. He's tense as well, partly in response to the situation and partly because he's still nervously hoping that she'll say yes, and that they can just talk about all of this.
So, even though he isn't certain that he heard anything at first, it takes a lot of focus to hold back a sigh of relief when he realized that she just agreed.]
Thanks.
[He gives her a small smile, and tries to figure out where to go from here.]
We don't have to talk here, though. We can find a place to sit down, or something.
[The staircase is probably a bad place to do something like this, after all.]
She's subconciously doing the equivalent of mentally dragging her feet here
Sora knows the Tower as well as her by now though. He probably doesn't need her to say anything.
She'll follow where he leads, letting him hold her hand on the way there]
no subject
He doesn't ask her what she means when she looks up. Sora knows where to go. He keeps an even pace, forcing himself not to rush at a time like this. He's still holding onto her hand when they get there, too, until they find a place to sit down. He's quiet for a moment, trying to figure out where to start.
Well...he may as well just go for it.]
Xion...I saw that dream where you were talking to Riku. That was one of your memories, wasn't it?
no subject
Or maybe she was just thinking all too much about this. She didn't know.
At Sora's question, she nods, closing her eyes and biting her lip.]
Yeah. It was.

[Between everything he heard in Xion's dream, and what he saw in Riku's, his newfound understanding of his future wasn't much of an understanding at all.
He had traveled worlds. Kairi was asleep, and wouldn't wake up. He had fought with Riku. Then he was asleep, and Riku was trying to wake him up.
How did any of this connect? Sora didn't even know where to begin guessing.
And what, as far as his connection to Xion went...what did it really mean? But, maybe more importantly, was he right about how what she had said before ties into all of this? About her not having much time left?
He hoped that he wasn't.]
Did some of your memories really come from me?
no subject
Yes.
[She hesitates.]
I... can remember things, sometimes. Things that I've never seen. But they're not my memories. They're yours. Memories about you, and a girl named Kairi.
[She already knows that Sora will know exactly who she's talking about. Xion didn't actively seek out Sora's memories once she'd found out what they were; didn't riffle through them looking for information or amusement. Somehow doing so felt... like she was defiling them, somehow, touching something she was never meant to even know about, let alone handle the way she did. But sometimes the memories would come unbidden, most often in dreams and sometimes in her waking moments as well.
She knew that Kairi was someone very special to Sora.]
That's... that's why I look like her.
[Because of Kairi. Because of Sora. Sora made her who she is today.]
no subject
[So it wasn't a coincedence that she and Xion looked so similiar. It had been so easy to assume that it was, but maybe by now he should have started to figure out that things like that usually didn't happen by chance.]
She's one of my very best friends.
[Or maybe even more special than that, though now wasn't the time to figure out how to describe it. But that didn't matter right now, anyway.
What mattered was that the pieces of him that Xion was made from were some of the most important of all.]
So you look like her because you have my memories of her. But how did you end up with them, anyway?
[He's not accusing her of anything, because maybe she doesn't even know. But he still needs to ask.]
no subject
It might be what I was made to do, or maybe it was an accident. I don't know. It's not what I wanted.
[So far as she originally knew, she'd been a part of the Organization because she could wield the Keyblade; she could probably attribute that to Sora's memories as well. But could the Organization have designed her to absorb Sora's memories like she had been? Were they the ones who'd pulled them apart in the first place?
Though maybe...]
There's a girl here in the Tower. Her name is Namine... I'm not sure, but... she might know.
[Namine seemed to be pretty knowledgeable about this sort of thing - she'd known why Vanitas and Master Xehanort had seen her as Ven. Maybe Namine knew about this too.
And she had no idea.]no subject
But something else she said has him wondering...]
What you were...made to do? What are you talking about?
[The word catches his attention, because of reminds him of what she had said during the dream - about being a "puppet". Was Xion created by someone?]
no subject
What... do you know about a group called Organization XIII?
no subject
[He scratches his head, looking off to the side while trying to see if the name rang any bells.
...nope. We're coming up with a total of zero bells rung.]
Not a thing. Who are they?
no subject
[She has some doubts, for various reasons.]
They made me, because I think they wanted somebody else who could use the Keyblade. The only other one who can use the Keyblade in the Organization is Roxas.
But maybe they made me to do that too. Absorb your memories while they'd been scattered.
no subject
I get wanting the Keyblade, but...why would anyone want my memories? I'm not sure I understand.
[The Keyblade is pretty powerful, but why his memories? What was so special about them?]
