Summary: And then, just like that, the tower had another disgruntled magical girl.

[Room 02-13]
[Kyoko wasn't entirely sure what she'd expected following her death. In truth, she'd been been more concerned with taking care of Sayaka at present than whatever consequences would follow.

Her expectations had apparently been set high enough, however, as the momentary paralysis and the letters explaining the situation proved to be nothing but a disappointment. She found herself skimming the letter detailing both the destruction of her world and her apparent salvation without much interest before, rolling her eyes and making a noise of dissent, crumpling up and tossing it somewhere off to the side.

She wasn't the one who had needed saving.]

[It wasn't something that would normally find it's way into her diet and it was certainly questionable given the current striation, but Kyoko's never been one to turn down free food and this was no exception. So it was without any complaint that she was currently working away at the bowl of oatmeal in front of her It was bland, but it was still food. Besides, questionable as the entire situation might have been, it was still pretty far from claiming the title of the worst thing she's ever eaten.]

[Says the disfigured pink girl with a soul gem ring on her finger.]

[Sure is a little girl with a whole lot of freshly-made foods - scrambles, fruit, pastries - sitting down at your table. She saw the Welcome Oatmeal and decided to share her bounty.]

After you're done with that, would you like some of these? The oatmeal's pretty bland... but you have to eat it first.

[Welcome oatmeal, huh? Well, she doesn't exactly look like the friendliest camper in the world, but Yosuke figures he should at least try and extend a helping hand to a newbie stuck in this mess, so he walks over]

Hey, I'm guessing from the oatmeal you're new, right? I can try to answer any questions, if you want.

_{[..Well, she's pretty sure that if Feferi catches her blowing off one more meal, she'll be forced to eat at the end of a ridiculously oversized fork.

She's just clonked down with a tray of Something Somewhat Appetizing™ about four seats away, not really paying all that much attention to her surroundings - thinking about when she should go over the new network posts again, maybe, and if all her notes really made it through the attack.

[She starts to raise her hand in greeting at the familiar voice, but instead finds it slamming don on the table as she takes in Madoka's condition. And the ring on her finger. This girl, who has so many people who worry about her, isn't a person who should be in such a sorry state, wearing that ring.]

Ya contracted? Even knowing what kinda fate's in store for ya now?

[The chair slides back with a loud screech as she pushes herself up, fingers clawing at the table. It shouldn't frustrate her, really, but it does. This sort of stupidity.]

What the Hell happened!? Just what was so important that ya would go and sell your soul to that thing for such a cheap price!?

Yeah, I've been here long enough to see a lot of people come and go. I still wouldn't call myself an expert, but I like to at least try and help.

[Of course, there was no way that Sayaka of all people would escape her notice. It was a relief to see her alive, in one piece and undeniably human again. She considers just calling out to her for a moment before opting to move down a few chairs, plopping down in one right next to Sayaka.]

Gotchya. So, what can ya tell me about this place? That letter didn't tell me much other than how the guys in charge of this place are sitting up there patting themselves on the back.

Alright, basics! The person in charge switches every month, and Jason is a bastard who likes to do horrible things to people. The months he's in charge are always the worst.

Ya shouldn't be so nice to strangers, y'know. That's the sorta thing that people'll just take advantage of.

[Not that she's going to hesitate to take one of those pastries, now that her bowl is empty.]

How about the rest of 'em? I'm guessing they're not all that much better.

Dax is okay. He's the only one that seems like he cares about us as people at all. The rest of them are all bad in one way or another.

A few months ago there was this thing where a lot of us were sorted into different groups, one for each leader. One of the pods got a lot of psychological torture. Jason experimented on the people in his and turned them into...

[He trails off, then shakes his head and leaves it there]

Dax's pod was normal, though. He just asked us to do things, and he made it as comfortable as he could within the rules of the 'game' they were playing.

Got a couple of idiots trying to force 'em down on their knees and the other trying to kill 'em with kindness, eh? Sounds like ya a real group of winners running this place. Can't imagine why anyone wouldn't be happy to be here.

[The way he trailed off wasn't lost on her, however, so she adds,]

But y'know, ya don't have to tell me anything ya don't want to. Cause I'm stuck here with the rest of ya now, so I'm sure I'll figure it out for myself sooner or later.

Well I don't think I'll go into detail on that one, but you deserve to know what you're getting into.

Then again, even if you think you're ready, they always manage to do something here that throws you for a loop. I've seen this place come close to breaking people I never thought would even bend.

Hmmm... but it doesn't really cost me anything, and I might make new friends!

[Kazumi giggles as Kyouko takes one and she nibbles on some fruit]

[ a little distance away is another young girl - and she's quite noticably staring, although she herself doesn't seem to think the fact is very rude. nope, she just casually walks over to where kyouko is sitting, staring at her with a slight grin. ]

.. What, you're actually eating that? [ oh, of course she knows all new people have to, she just likes taunting people and it's worth a try. ]

[Madoka staggers a few steps back, a look of complete shock on her face.]

[and then it hits her. Timeline crap. It's always timeline crap.]

[She rolls her shoulders as she answers between bites, quickly adding.]
