i just want to see the light;
Characters: Fou-Lu and OPEN (except for one closed thread with Mami).
Setting: Ruins of Floor 13, floor 4.
Time: Morning for 13, afternoon for 4.
Format: I'll follow you.
Summary: Troubled by the recent events, Fou-Lu tries to find some peace. He also decides he needs to have a more or less honest talk with Mami.
Warnings: Godangst, Olde English
[Floor 13]
[It was only fitting that he would find himself drawn here again. Even through the wreckage, he could sense that this was a calming place. It was not a temple made for the Endless, but it was made for a similar purpose, and so he can appreciate it - at least a little.]
[Carefully, he starts to move some of the rubble to one side. Perhaps he'll break it all apart into manageable pieces later, but for now someone heading to that floor will find a slim man moving large pieces of stone.]
[Floor 4]
[Clouds. That's all they can see out here. Fou-Lu presses a hand to the glass once more, before turning away. He wants freedom, and yet this place traps him as if he is a common beast. It offends his dignity as an Endless. He is not meant to be trapped and controlled. He is meant to lead and cultivate.]
[… Or he was. Now the mortals simply seem to desire destruction - destruction by his hand, which he will achieve as soon as his other half returns to him.]
[The mortals here, though… perhaps they are different.]
[He turns back to the window to stare.]
[Private for Mami]
[Fou-Lu waits for the farmer at the edge of the fourth floor, watching for her arrival. He had asked her earlier in the day to join him here at this time, but he is strangely nervous about it.]
[She is the one mortal he cares about. What if she rejects him because of what he is? He does not want her to fear him… at least, not like he wants the others to fear him. Respect, yes, but not fear.]
[But she has to know in this place, lest she find out in a more… unpleasant manner.]

Floor 4
He finds himself lingering where he'd wound up when it had first started to sink in. That everyone was gone, that he might be the only person from Meridian here. He slips a hand into his pocket to remove the card, just to hold it and remind himself it exists.
He's drawn to the window, to the view of the fog he now knows protects them from creatures like that whale. The cage kept the cats out as much as it kept the birds in. He puts his free hand on the glass.*
I wonder how high above the ground we truly are.
*He isn't so unobservant as to miss the other immortal nearby. He glances over at him, wondering if he's feeling the weight of the months like he is.*
Private thread is a go!
She'd known he wasn't a normal human at all, but she hadn't quite expected that. It wasn't like he had scared her at all - after all, he was still Ryong! - but it had certainly been unexpected.
So, she arrives on time, giving Ryong a curious look as she does.] Aye, Ryong, Ah'm here.
no subject
T'would be difficult to tell without some manner of reference point.
[The way mortals marked the passing of days did not matter much to him. Still, he could feel the passing weeks wear on him.]
The fog be far too thick to be able to find such a point.
no subject
We attempted to tell thee once, of what we were. T'was not the time... but now the time be appropriate, given what thou hast seen.
... T'is indeed true. Thou art in the presence of an Endless.
no subject
Oh. ... Oh.] By tha' ye mean ye're a...dragon?
[She seems more curious than distressed, really. Okay, she is a bit nervous because hey, dragons are supposed to be really powerful, but - this is still Ryong.]
Floor 13
Lezard at first doesn't exactly show-up, just looking at Fou(Lu from a distance as he enters the cathedral. ]
...
[ He then smiles and walks close to the Dragon-God, looking at the pile of rubble. ]
Such a shame what this monster did. Causing such senseless destruction for no reasons that we can tell.
no subject
[And yet...]
If... thou still art attached to the name Ryong, we will respond to that if that be thy wish.
no subject
[It still unnerves him.]
'Tis likely that it was simply a mindless beast. Though its destruction be great, we doubt that it had much knowledge of what its presence would bring.
no subject
*The monsters here were strong enough sometimes without having to deal with the monsters that had come out of the whale. A sigh.* ...It was strange, wasn't it, having the same goal as our hosts for once?
Floor 4
When she spots Fou-Lu, she waves a little.]
Good day, Your Majesty.
no subject
[He looks up for a moment, before chuckling.]
We doubt that their intentions aligned, despite the fact that the goals wert the same.
no subject
How art thou fairing? Thy personage seem to be mostly uninjured.
no subject
*He stares out, into the fog.*
They seemed to know the whale was approaching, but were unable to prevent it. I doubt we could convince them to tell us what they find through those means.
no subject
...She tilts her head slightly, trying to think...something. This isn't the Empire, but there's no reason not to be respectful - but she doesn't know how to do that correctly, she's just a farmer!]
...Ah'm sorry...but Ah dunna' know how ter...t' otherwise...
[Words, what are they.]
no subject
And were we able to see approaching danger, we couldst move the mortals in danger to safety.
[The worthy ones, at least.]
no subject
Thou art under our protection. We wilt allow no harm to come to thee.
We only wish for thee to continue being how thou art. 'Tis enough for us. We simply wished to tell thee to... bring things into a less confusing light.
no subject
what is it with me and playing tiny characters][Mami looks surprised for a moment before smiling again. Of course - Ryong is still Ryong, in the end. It's strange to know this, but...he's still himself. And really, this doesn't change anything - it just sheds a new light on things.]
Aye, an' Ah'm grateful ye tol' me, Ryong.
no subject
*He sighs, fingering the plastic-covered card still in his other hand before slipping it back into his pocket.*
...We knew what to do because we were warned, but what if they can't warn us, or the one who seems to have a sense of decency isn't watching over us?
no subject
It's not like this guy is secretly planning to turn your loved one into an undead, nope.]I will have to agree. At the very least, the monsters were mindless.
[ He smiles and walks around. ]
The whale itself is quite a mystery. It was drawn to the tower- Much like how flies are attracted to light. But more than that, it attacked the tower rather than just flying around it... As if it wanted to destroy the light. Quite mysterious don't you think?
no subject
I don't know, you're taller than me.][His expression softens a bit more. Good. At least she is still all right with talking to him.]
... Thou art welcome.
[This... this is a little awkward now though.]
no subject
[Not like he could intentionally do anything, but his aura worked on the lesser beings in his world... perhaps it could have done the same here.]
no subject
no subject
[ Better keep your thoughts to yourself Fou-Lu, because that's the kind of thought that would pick Lezard's interest even more than it already is. ]
Oh, but I forgot my manners. [He nods politely to Fou-Lu.] I am Lezard, Lezard Valeth.
no subject
[He holds back his titles for now, though he wants to say them just out of habit - people here won't know them anyway, so he shouldn't waste his breath on them.]
no subject
[ At this point, pretending he didn't feel Fou-Lu's divine aura was useless, and he assumed Fou-Lu felt the same. ]
no subject
Indeed.
What bringeth thee to this place?
[Or is it just to feel him out? Because honestly he can't say he wouldn't do the same.]
no subject
*Yeah that was half-rhetorical. It's all right, really. He just wants someone to talk to about these things.*
no subject
[ He nods respectfully, see he's a totally honest
Godman. ]no subject
[He sighs, closing his eyes for a moment.]
This world be... strange to us. Not only the setting, but the devices used here.
[Even the... waste facilities are strange.]
