[It wasn't the fact that she'd wound up somewhere far away from that village that initially concerned her, not the stark white walls or the strange bed or even the temporary paralysis. It was the absence of her sister that tore at her as she looked around the room and the letter that had been left for her, leaving her head spinning. If it had been destroyed...if she hadn't been saved...]

...Mayu...?

[Her voice echoed softly through the room and she bit her lip, looking around it once more, as though doing so would make her sister appear.]

[It had been hard to leave the small room that had been given to her, with the possibility that her family might be gone forever, but she couldn't let herself stay idle. Not when her sister might have come with her and not when she still had hope that she would be able to see her again. No--she was certain that Mayu was still there, waiting for her, in that dark place.

It was that thought that kept her moving through the tower, worn down camera in hand, taking in the sights, occasionally raising it upon seeing something unusual come into view.]

[She jumps a little at his greeting before settling into an uneasy smile. It had been, at one time.]

Mm...it was. [Her eyes move down to it and she finds herself fidgeting with it.] I was hoping it would help me find something.

[Three seconds in and he's already made her jump and look pretty nervous. Clearly he's batting a thousand already, so he tries to dial the Yosuke back some]

Oh, you lost something? I wouldn't mind helping, if you need a hand. Yosuke Hanamura, at your service!

[His level of success at 'dialing it back' is debatable]

Well-- [She considers correcting him, but decides against it. There are more important things to consider. An edge of desperation is beginning to creep into her voice.] I was actually looking for my sister. I don't know if she's here, but if she is--I have to find her.

[Something's about the mood's definitely changed, and with her words he can understand why. Yosuke's pretty sure he understands the situation though, and he nods]

So you must have just got here, right? I know an easy way to check for your sister, but you should eat the oatmeal first. You have to anyway, so it's best to get it over with.

Oatmeal...? [She stares at him for a moment, visibly puzzled by the sudden turn the conversation had taken. After a moment she nods, however.] Okay.

[It's only now that it occurs to the young man that he might want to explain to the distraught young lady searching for her sister why she needs to eat the oatmeal]

Sorry, that sounded kinda weird... but you get sick if you try eating anything that isn't oatmeal when you first show up. If your sister's here, then she went through the same thing too.

N-no, I don't mind. [She forces a smile, trying to smooth things over, though it fades quickly as she thinks of Mayu. She shakes her head, trying to focus on what he had told her.] That's a bit strange though, isn't it...?

There's a lot of things about this place that are strange, in the 'don't make sense at all' kind of way. The oatmeal's just one.

Go ahead and grab a bowl! I can sit and chat while you eat, there's a lot to catch you up on if you're new.

Um, where is...? [She'll be looking around, obviously more than a little lost, before catching sight of the kitchen before she can even finish asking her question.] ...ah.

[He smiles as she answers her own question. She seems like the shy type, but that's fine. There's a certain charm to it]

Go ahead and grab some - I'll find us a seat, alright?

[And he goes to do just that!]

[She nods once more, before disappearing into the kitchen. Shortly later she'll be sitting down across from Yosuke at the table he picked, along with a bowl of oatmeal.]

Ah, um...Yosuke, was it?

Yeah, that's me!

[A moment, then-]

Crap! I forgot to get your name!

Oh, no, um--I'm sorry, I forgot to introduce myself, didn't I... [She offers a sheepish smile.] I'm Mio Amakura, pleased to meet you.

[He returns her smile with one of his own]

It's fine, I'm usually the one who forgets to give a name.

Anyway Mio, I'm guessing I'm not the first person you've met here. Someone's told you the basics, right?
