Ken showed up at about one in the afternoon, bringing both spears with him. He wasn't sure who was going to turn up, but he hoped it would be enough.

Really, he didn't want to have to deal with a bunch of people on his own. He could handle it, but it would be kind of a pain.

[Ken decides to warm up on his own. He takes one of the spears, and starts with a few practice stabs, working his way up to a flurry of attacks. He then runs forward, slams the butt of his spear on the ground, and whirls around, kicking at imaginary enemies.]

[Romeo is a little late, he got distracted at the new floors. He doesn't like the jail floor, cells terrify him. The room of bars was hard to get through but he liked that one, and he had run through the dark squirmy room with his eyes shut.

He arrived in the meadow to see Ken practicing with his spear. He ran up to him but stopped a safe distance away.] Hello Ken!

[Ken finishes his routine, and stands up straighter, waving to Romeo.]

Hi. How are you doing?

[myblueskies]

I'm good! How are you? I haven't seen you for ages!

[Well the best part of a week, but to Romeo that's a long time.]

I'm doing... pretty well, actually. My Persona changed.

[myblueskies]

It changed? [Romeo still didn't really understand what a Persona was but he knew it was a thing that lived inside Ken and helped him fight, a little like when Momotaros helped him fight against the whale.] How did it change?

I was talking to Shinjiro and...

[Wait. Romeo doesn't know about Shinjiro, not really.]

One of the others told me that it can change when you do - when you reach a 'new resolve'.

[myblueskies]

[Romeo didn't know about Shinjiro but he guessed it was one of Ken's friends, Ken had a lot of friends.]

A new resolve? [Romeo blinked, not understanding.]

Like... when you make a big decision in your life to change how you've been doing things.

[He thinks. Probably.]

[myblueskies]

Oh! [He thought for a moment] What big decision did you make?

[miseris_socios]

I...

[He goes quiet for a moment.]

I realized that Shinjiro really... wasn't at fault for my mother dying. Not as much as I thought he was, anyway. And even if he was, she wouldn't have wanted me to spend time tracking him down and trying to kill him like I did. She would have wanted me to move on.

[myblueskies]

[Romeo nodded solemnly. He didn't know who Shinjiro was but you should forgive people, even though Romeo would be really mad if someone killed his family he knew that revenge was not good. You had to keep going and couldn't live your life angry all the time.]

So when you learned that then you grew up more and your persona changed?

[miseris_socios]

Pretty much.

[He puts his Evoker to his forehead and pulls the trigger, a woman in armor holding a spear appearing in front of him.]

[myblueskies]

[Romeo's eyes widened, he had never actually see Ken summon his persona before and he knew that guns were dangerous.] Ken!

[He skittered back a little when the woman appeared, guessing that this must be what Ken was talking about.] Hello miss...

[She smiles at Romeo, and then disappears.]

Nemesis was... a lot different. She was pretty scary, actually.

[myblueskies]

[Romeo smiled back, because she seemed nice.] So now you got a nicer one, because she doesn't seem scary at all!

[miseris_socios]

She is.

[He summons her again, and lets her stab at the air, as if she were fighting an enemy.]

[myblueskies]

[He doesn't look too scared actually] But people can be good at fighting and not scary!

[miseris_socios]

Yeah, that's true. Like you'll be one day, if you want to be.

You too Ken! You're a good fighter and not scary at all! [Sorry, if scary was a thing you wanted to be Ken]

SWORDS (Glowy ones, at least)

[Sonata had made her way up to the meadow with very little trouble, and was now keeping herself occupied while waiting for a training partner to show up. She had a micsaber in hand and activated, and was going through practice exercises with a very serious look on her face. Swing, swing, block, step back.... swing, swing, block, step back....]

Wow they are pretty! [Romeo came over to her after his training with Ken.] What are they called Sonata?

[littlesound]

Romeo! [She stops at the end of her next swing and gives a cheerful twirl, careful to keep the glowing blade away from him.]

It's my micsaber! They gave it to all of us when we did our auditions! Sonata's probably gonna have to use it a whole lot, here!

[myblueskies]

What's an audition? [He peers at the blade carefully.]

[Sontata's nose scrunches up, and she looks confused. He doesn't know what an audition is?]

It's a try-out! To see if you're good enough to do something! Sonata auditioned for AKB0048 and got in!

[Wait, maybe he didn't know what that was, either.]

....and AKB0048 is an idol group.

Oh! [He had never heard of that before, and he didn't understand the next thing she said either.] What's an idol group?

[Sonata looks supremely unimpressed. What kind of kid didn't know about idols?]

An idol group is a bunch of girls that sing and dance and bring happiness to everyone! AKB0048 is the BEST and ONLY idol group, and we go from planet to planet and do guerrilla concerts on planets where music is banned, and... [She stops to take a breath.]

...and it's really important! The most important thing ever!

[myblueskies]

[This kind of kid obviously. Romeo listened and his mouth dropped open, he didn't know what guerrilla concerts were but she went to different planets! And sung when music wasn't allowed!] That sounds really amazing! You should sing here!

[littlesound]

[Sonata goes from righteously angry to beamingly happy, when Romeo makes his suggestion.] Yeah! Yeah, Sonata wants to sing here! I sang karaoke when I first got here.... A concert! There should be a concert!

...but it's no fun alone. Does anyone else here sing...?

What's a concert? Is it fun? I like singing! We used to sing all the time in the Black Brothers! We even had our own song!

[littlesound]

A concert is when we're all up on stage singing for lots and lots of people! Aaah! Romeo sings, too? What was the song, what was the song?! Sonata wants to hear it!

[myblueskies]

Oh like when people sing for a king! Oh! I can sing it if you like! [And he begins to sing a song proudly.]

[Sonata smiles as she listens to him sing, nodding her head in time with the music. He has a nice voice! And it's not often she hears boys singing.

When he's done, she applauds.]

Yay! That was good! Sonata should teach you more songs! [Then she pauses.] ...what do the Black Brothers do? You're singing about chimneys, so...?

You would really teach me? [Romeo grins] We were chimney sweeps!

Chimney sweeps! Sonata's read about those in stories... but we don't have those where I come from. That must be hard work!

There are chimney sweeps in stories? [Romeo's eyes widened] Really! I didn't think anyone wrote stories about chimney sweeps!

[He thought for a moment] It is hard work, and the bosses are really mean but as long as you have friends it's alright!
