☆ Dawn

Characters: Al Saiduq and Jun (also England?)
Setting: Forward-dated to ???; morning on Floor Twenty-Nine.
Format: Prose?
Summary: Temporal discussions and the birth of new flora. In other words, really pretentious girly stuff.
Warnings: Jun and Alcor being ridiculous. Also, probably Alcor being depressing, since that happens every time these two thread anyway. Potential onset of Britishness later on.

Sometimes- well, most of the time -Alcor missed Sol. Being the next closest star, as well as the more conventional one, gave him a sort of unspoken bond with the celestial body that would have been hard to put in human terms. Frankly, the Sun didn't give him any of the benefits it gave mankind, as he was too long-lived to really bat an eyelash at a 'day' passing...but it still had an effect on him. More like a comforting wave from a neighbor, if he had to simplify the phenomenon.

But, Sol was not the light shining down from the heavens here. To be frank, Alcor wasn't sure he wanted to try and divine how any sort of sufficient light got in to the various outdoorsy floors, but the plants seemed to grow all the same. He had been concerned at first, knowing full-well that they also required a certain amount of nutrition that Alcor was simply not equipped to supplement, but his worries were for naught.

It was most likely that he was still thinking too hard about all of that however, as a simple outing of "let's go plant more flowers!" had become yet another contemplative philosophy moment for the star. A small seed was pinched between his fingers as he carefully placed it in to one of the newly dug holes. It seemed he was placing them individually in some sort of pattern...?

"Perhaps I have underestimated plants, as well. They seem quite able to thrive in such harsh conditions, even without the Sun's affection." Another seed was picked out of the pack, the star teetering in his crouched position to reach for it. "Maybe this place is not so devoid of life."

The difference between the two deities of the same name hadn't even occurred to Jun at this point. Chronos had always just been...Chronos. You'd think he'd have thought about this given how much of a nerd he is.

"Um... if you say so..." It wasn't like it was hard to bring Chronos out anyway, and the Persona seemed a bit amused at Al Suha's desires itself. So he brought his hand to his chest in concentration, and the Persona manifested above him.

"The Star Alcor, Sword of the Great Will and that which shines most dull and bright... I am Chronos. It hath been many years since I have spoken to one of your own."

"Time is the greatest illusion, the harshest curse, and the happiest gift that has bestowed on all living things and forces, be they mortal or eternal, animal or not. Even an old one such as you is not isolated from this phenomenon, whether you realize it or not.

"It is with the passage of Time that allowed your light to come, and with the passage of Time that moved you to action. Neither you nor the Great Will have lived within true infinity; nor the Crawling Chaos, nor mine harbinger Philemon. Though your realm extends beyond mortal comprehension, all flow with Time, and with Time flows Change. As does all within the World.

"Yet still, Time remains an illusion. An arbitrary measure created by humanity to impose Order. Though one may understand its linear flow, beyond that, its comprehension is not needed. You will change, as with all things in this universe."

"One man's time has always been short compared to those that transcend the common flow. You who have watched humanity from the heavens for so long... I wonder why it is now that you have come to this conflict?"

Though there seemed to be a slight ripple of discontent from Chronos, as to this topic-- the Tower didn't so much obey the passage of mortal time, after all--, he continues. "It is because of man's short time that he can accomplish more than the being that stagnates for centuries. Their short time is what forces them forward-- whether from fear of the Reaper or desire to extend it. To abolish it would to make them another still race, and take away one of the things that make them that which you have grown so fond of.

"Grief over their passing is natural, and to be expected. It is what has marked your own passage through Time."

There was a sound that rippled through the air from Chronos, that could almost be distinguished as a fond chuckle.

"For all the centuries that pass for those on high, there will never be one so old as to outgrow my bounds."

He shifted his position in the air, folding his hand across his own chest and bowing in mid-air towards Alcor. "I am Chronos, he who wields the unholy sickle and watches the days from prehistory; I look forward to the day you join us, you Aid of Humanity."

With those words, Chronos disappeared, and Jun sprung to attention again. Apparently he had closed his eyes and spaced out, to allow Chronos his part.

"Oh-- of course."

His smile was a bit sheepish though, at the latter part. Though it was pretty genuine compared to the other smiles he usually gave off.

"I don't know about that... Chronos is my Persona, but he knows much more than I do. I don't think I could even begin to come near him..."

Those are some pretty damn uguu thoughts brah

"Thank you for your vote of confidence, but..." His smile was gone at this point, and his expression grew distant and lost in thought. He had already proven himself time and time again to be more fool than wise man.

No need to dredge up that right now though. He shook whatever it was off, and smiled again. "Do you need any help with the flowers?"

Smoooooothly changing the subject aw yeah.
