Setting: September 10th in the afternoon, cafeteria.
Format: Action spam.
Summary: When Maya is hungry, she'll practically eat anything. Also, she's upset that she can no longer channel spirits.
Warnings: Shouting, complaining, and a bitter taste in her mouth.

[ Maya was actually unable to eat ever since she arrived on this weird tower. Sure, she knew that the things they said about the world being destroyed may not have been true, but that wasn't the big problem here. The problem was that she was all alone -- no friends, no family.

And she couldn't even channel spirits! What was the use of a spirit channeler if she herself couldn't even channel a single spirit? It was true that she missed her sister, Mia. But she missed everyone else, too. Nick, Pearly... even Mr. Edgeworth and Franziska von Karma.

This was a whole new problem for her, and she didn't know if it was all her fault. Being the Master of the Kurain Channeling Technique brought hardships to her. And even to her little cousin. But she had to be strong. There was no need to wallow around here, especially when other people were in the same situation as she was.

But there was one unshakeable fact: this wasn't the first time this sort of thing happened. She had indeed been kidnapped before, and even almost killed by her own cousin (though she didn't know it at the time). So, Maya Fey eats alone with a bowl of... disgusting oatmeal, stirring it with her spoon. She's eating, yes, but she's doing it really slowly.

If you're in the cafeteria, you just might have to bother her. ]

[Luke had crept up as carefully as he could, a cup held out and placed on the table in front of Maya.

Truth be told, he hadn't wanted to disturb her, but she looked like she needed the mug of tea more than he did right now.]

Huh?

[ Maya immediately looks up from her oatmeal (though truth be told, it almost looks like weird porridge at this point) to see the cup of tea. To be honest, she wasn't all that into tea -- but she knew what the sentiment was, so she decides to give him a soft smile, taking the cup in her hands and saying only one word. ]

[Wow, he was an old hand here. That was a sobering thought.]

My name's Luke. Are you here by yourself...?

Has anyone explained this place to you yet? I'm not sure I'm up on all the current theories, but I suppose I know the basics.

He paused, frowned, and puffed his cheeks.]

Though, I am most versed in the world-destruction aspect, really. For some inexplicable reason I spent quite a length of time there.

The world didn't really get destroyed... did it?

[She's kind of worried about that. She's been told about several things, but nobody has actually explained if the world truly got destroyed or not.]

I don't believe so, no.

[Luke crossed his arms, looking very deep in thought.]

Though I couldn't find any evidence that it was fake, I can't believe for a moment that so many worlds could be snuffed out- or more properly, that if such occurred, that anyone could be rescued at all. It's all very suspicious.

I guess you're right. Since I don't even remember seeing the world getting destroyed. I mean, if it were true, they would have videos or something like that, wouldn't they?

I heard they showed a video or something of the sort, but I've seen such things doctored and created more than once. Nothing they have given us is very reliable in the long run.

I don't think they're bad people- not all of them, at least -but they do seem to be lying quite a deal. The 'why' is more important to figure out. Or, that's what the Professor would say.

Yeah, you're right! I bet the reason why they're lying will be very important to figuring out what exactly is going on.

[... Too bad she doesn't have Nick's magatama.]

[ Ah, newbie season. He remembers it like it was yesterday. The oatmeal in particular isn't a good memory. But if he knew, he could empathize. Waking up here all alone without a single familiar face was terrible.

So don't mind him coming along. He's jamming his hands in his pockets as he does, offering a smile back to her. ]

Wotcher there, miss. Couldn't help but seeing a fair bird like you looking like she was in a spot of trouble.

[ What is with all these people trying to surprise her? Though it's true that she doesn't want to be left alone. Not right now, anyway. ]

[ Maya shakes her head, also feeling a bit apologetic before she manages a soft smile. She's used to being surprised, but at least... this time, anyway - was a good surprise. ]

[ And with that, he pulls a chair out for himself. ]

I'm Ronald, by the way. Ronald Knox. And you are...?

[ There's a slight pause after she says that. Of course, she knows that people from other worlds probably don't know too much about spirit mediums. ]

And this isn't exactly my first day... ha, ha.

Oh. Sorry 'bout that. Kind of assumed it was, what with the slop and all.

[ Small motion toward the oatmeal. ]

How long's it been then?

A few days, I think.

[ She... hasn't eaten since she got here, honestly. But it's not like she's been counting how many days she's been here, either. ]

Days? And you haven't eaten since then?

[ A look of disbelief. ]

Can't blame you though. All we've got are these nutrition bars. Not exactly fine dining.

Well, I usually eat a lot... but I can handle not eating for a few days!

[ She's dealt with a lot worse, that's for sure. ]

And yeah! Nutrition bars may be healthy, but you can't live on nutrition bars every day!

You might want to eat it as quickly as possible. The area isn't too safe for the past few days.

[Despite this, the youth is smiling in front of her.]

Huh? Really?

[ She blinks twice, kind of confused. Why would the cafeteria be considered 'unsafe'? Was there a reason behind it...? ]

[He looks at her again.]

[ She puts on a brave face, laughing sheepishly. She honestly doesn't get scared too easily, especially after that incident. ]

And what do you mean by "inner shadow"?
