001 ~ Idrial
Characters: Idrial and her roommates, Idrial and anyone!
Setting: Various places around the tower.
Format: Starting with action, will match yours in comments.
Summary: This elf finds herself in a strange tower….
Warnings: N/A
[Idrial wakes abruptly, sitting up straight on the bed and looking around the strange room in which she finds herself. She does not remember falling asleep here and has no recollection of ever being here. Then her eyes fall on the letters by her bed, immediately picking them up and reading through them. Her eyes widen as she reads.
Your world has been destroyed…
Any words after do not register with her, it is only those five that echo around her mind over and over again. Destroyed…but how could that be? Did the powers of evil finally overcome the light? No, she will not believe it to be true. After a few moments of sitting absolutely still her eyes focus on the trunk at the foot of her bed which she opens. Thankfully inside are a few changes of clothes of her own and she changes into one immediately. She cannot help but notice the green collar around her neck but she also places the necklace given to her by the Lady Galadriel around it. She looks down at it and plays with it between her fingers. She speaks to it as if it will give her answers.]
What is this strange place and how did I arrive here? Is it true that the whole of Middle Earth has fallen to the darkness?
[After spending some time in her dormitory she decides it is time to leave and take a look around this place. Maybe she will see something familiar or find something that will give her a clue as to where she is and how she got here. She is cautious of course, this isn’t a place that she knows well and she carries her sword with her for protection. It’s better to be safe than sorry after all. The place is strange and for a long while she finds nothing but strange shapes and shadows.
Hearing the sound of someone approaching her area from behind she spins around and instinctively points her sword in that direction. She remains steady and manages to keep her resolve. The unknown has always made her wary but she was not frightened. Don’t worry, she will not attack unless she has cause to.]

The creatures here take many forms. I have seen Uruk-hai on several rare occasions but there are many other creatures more common that do not hail from our world.
[Oh look, speak of the devil. Legolas grins at the sight of Haldir joining them and takes a step back. It was good to see Haldir smile, that the shadows hadn't taken their toll on him as it did many others.]
Worry not for my leg, it has nearly healed completely.
[Explaining a giant flying whale was not... quite the way to welcome her to the tower. Also, Haldir would probably revel in the chance to explain that princes carelessness.]
no subject
...Uruk-hai? That is bad news. However, I am sure it is nothing we cannot handle ourselves.
[Oh, what good timing you have, Haldir. She will greet him with a smile just as bright. It is definitely good to see him once again.]
Vedui', Haldir. I am glad to see you once again, it has been far too long since we last met. [She turns back to Legolas] And I am glad to hear that you are healing well, Legolas. I hope it did not cause you too much suffering.
no subject
He cannot help but hope that others of their realm were still alive somewhere in that bleak and desolate land. ]
Ah, yes. The Prince of Mirkwood has a fondness for trouble it would seem.
[ Haldir commented with a faint sigh. ]
He nearly lost that leg due to an Uruk-hai.
no subject
It should not be difficult to handle any we encounter. They do seem quite rare.
[Haldiiiiiiir! Stop making him feel like an elfling!]
I would not have lost my leg. It would have slain me rather than simply take my leg, had you not stepped in. And I've hardly a fondness for trouble, I can hardly be blamed that Ganondorf took insult and killed me.
[He still has nightmares about that once in awhile, actually, but he brushes it off.]
Your concern is touching, Lady Idrial, but I had Haldir to ensure I healed enough to walk again. [He's such a mother-hen.]
no subject
Yes and I am sure it was not the unpleasant kind of surprise. Rare? Well, at least there is that. Thankfully, I arrived here well armed with my sword and bow.
[Idrial glances at Haldir, smile still present at that. She did not take Haldir to be the mother-hen type but then she did not know him as well as others. She is finding it a little difficult to keep up with the rest but it can be revisited later.]
In that case it is fortunate that Haldir has been around. So, neither of you know where this tower is? It is not a place I recognize.
no subject
With such gusto you speak of your would-be demise so causally. You worry me greatly.
[ A tired sigh escapes him but nothing else. At least he won't berate the Elven Prince before their guest. ]
None know of where this tower is, my lady.
[ He quickly answered once his gaze rested upon Idrial again. ]
It simply exists as far as I'm concerned. The Administrators, a crafty lot who rules this realm, claim we've been stored away here for the sake of safekeeping.
no subject
It does not do to dwell on the past with such dark thoughts. I am alive and that is cause enough to find the good in such a situation. And I've the wisdom to avoid one who wishes me ill.
[He'll agree on the lack of berating. Thanks.]
It is as Haldir says. This tower is no place a ship can reach, no world we ever expected to know of. They claim to be our saviors but have proven to keep us merely as... pets, almost.
Be wary this month, Jason is in charge and he is no friend to us. And I recommend hunting for your own food, once you've eaten the oatmeal.
no subject
That is true. Do not focus on the dark, focus on the light.
[As if in response the necklace from her trunk, the gift from the Lady Galadriel shines brightly around her neck and she smiles just as bright. She only hopes that the Lady has not been destroyed herself and that she may turn up here eventually.]
And it seems the Lady Galadiel would agree with me on that matter.
[She listens to what they both have to say and a frown almost appears on her brow and her eyes flick between the expressions on their faces.]
There is no way to leave? So, we are kept here like prisoners? I hardly think that is keeping us safe. But I suppose it would not do well to fight against the people who keep us here. I will remember the name Jason and be sure to be wary of him in that case. [She is more than happy to hunt for her own food but must she eat the oatmeal?] I will eat it if I must...where can I acquire this oatmeal?
no subject
It's a comforting thought, one that brings another smile to Haldir's lips. ]
The light shall guide us always even in our darkest hours. I remember the Lady herself stating such words to me in my youth.
[ A faint chuckle came from Haldir once he remembered his first time with the horrid oatmeal. Honestly, if Legolas hadn't warned him about the consequences of not eating that horrid glob, march warden's pride would've taken a severe hit. ]
From what I last remembered, such a meal was served within the confines of the cafeteria. While it has been many days since I've last ventured there, I doubt it has changed much.
no subject
We all would agree on that matter, then.
[Legolas extended a hand towards the nearest stairwell. It was true indeed that the oatmeal could only be gotten from the cafeteria. The restaurant refused to serve anyone that hadn't been there and eaten it.]
We've many floors to reach it but I promise you that it will be worth it, if only to familiarize yourself with the tower. And, unfortunately, you must eat it. Trying to eat anything else first will cause you to become ill.
no subject
Yes, it seems that she watches over us now as she always has done.
[Her eyes move to the stairwell that Legolas points out and she nods her head. If it is something she must do then she will do so, she doesn't want to become ill after all and it is true it will give her a better outline of the tower.]
Then I shall eat it. Finding myself in this tower, I need all the strength I can get. Becoming ill would not be a good thing and I would like to see more of this tower. To the cafeteria it is then, my lords.
no subject
Aye, as she always has done.
[ Closing his eyes briefly, Haldir swore he could almost see the Golden Woods within his thoughts. How he longed to be returned home, to see the splendid talans that hanged high above upon smooth pale branches. He wished to see the sunlight dance upon the golden leaves once more and feel the moonlight caress his skin.
The march warden wants nothing else other to be returned to his realm but such a wish won't be granted easily. ]
Hm?
[ Opening his eyes once he heard the others make their way towards the staircase, Haldir followed with a wistful smile on his lips. ]
Very well. We shall take our leave.
no subject
He waited for Haldir and Idrial before descending the stairs, taking them as slowly as he could bear himself to but knowing that it would be unfair to rush their companion.]
If there is anything you wish to ask, Haldir and I can answer easily now.
no subject
Her eyes are constantly ficking around her as she moves, taking everything. Her eyes also frequently rest on Legolas and Haldir as if to check if they are both still there, still real. Questions...she has so many. But she does not want to bombard them with her questions all at once.]
This Tower...it is not possible to leave it? I suppose not since I do not think either of you would still be here if it was possible.
no subject
[ Despite knowing that the three of them are safe in this part of the Tower, the march warden still feels the need to keep watch. ]
no subject
[Legolas is on guard as well. There are floors that are not at all safe, that trick can a person and then steal their life from them. Gimli and Legolas had once found sport on the floor of perpetual night but that was hardly as dangerous as others.
Which actually brought a warning to mind.]
There is a floor here with no light at all. It is wisest if you remain on the stairs while there. Something lurks on that floor.
no subject
Then we are trapped with no way to return home...that is grave news indeed. 'Something', I do not like the sound of that and I will be sure to keep your advice in mind.
I suppose it is not safe to venture through this Tower in the dark of night at all?
no subject
How could she?
It wouldn't take long for the young elf to understand the gravity of her plight here. Of course the marchwarden plans to do what he can to protect Idrial, but there is only so much Haldir can do. ]
The night is dark and filled with terror, some of which we've never seen before. It would be a fools errand to embark upon these halls without so much as an escort at night.
no subject
[SORRY HALDIR, HAVE TO TEASE.]
I will accompany should you need anything at night. You only need find my room and ask me to join you. The dorm floors are not free of monsters at night but they are still the safest in the tower.
no subject
I thank you, both of you for you concern and your advice. I will make sure not to wander the corridors at night alone, it would be foolish to do so. At least until I make myself more familiar with the Tower and its many floors. Thankfully I arrived here well equipped.
[Yeah, she's pretty sure she can take care of herself but if it keeps them from worrying about her constantly...]
