The words stung, but the apparition disappeared the moment it said it, just as sudden as it appeared. To Lelouch, who had been a firm believer in facts before baseless guessing; The apparition was the very one that was mentioned in the post Yu made; which, if his words were to be believed.

"Wasn't it? Then tell me the answer-"

He spoke to thin air, just as the apparition appeared once more, his figure being a mockery of the chess piece Zero was based off.

"You, of all people should know better, about how I feel about her."

All the accusation did, unfortunately, was to cause the masked figure to shudder, before letting loose a surreal laugh, lacking any manner of sanity.

"Her? She's just something you used for a reason to take over the world! Hell, all you wanted was to let everyone feel the pain of being dethroned from their rightful position!"

To those wandering around the area, you might see the two of them arguing over their past actions.

Nunnally had been advised to stay in her room during all of this madness, but the curiosity that began to blossom from her arrival got to the point where it no longer could be ignored. So she would be out wondering when she happened upon the sight.

"Is... is that the truth?" She managed to say with eyes that look as though they don't belong on her even after all this time.

"Of course it was, ever since the day I was exiled from my own home. All I wanted was to take everything back for myself!"

The masked figure answered her question, while the man in white... Was not taking this well.

"Shut your mouth at once, cretin!"

At all.

His words struck her harshly in a manner she never thought possible, the girl slumping back into her wheelchair. A blow unlike any other left her completely drained as the gears in her mind struggled to keep up not with one mastermind, but two. Once again she felt like a prisoner, bound by shackles too heavy for her frail bones, stuck in place to watch yet another grand show.

A captive audience couldn't compare to a captivated one, Nunnally forcing her head to move to the side repeatedly.

"No..." Courage swelled in her chest once again. After all she had seen in taking her brother's hand, could she really dismiss them in favor of these revelations? "I refuse to believe it. There's no one in this tower that knows you better than I, brother."

Addressing the Shadow as though it were brother would be a bold move, but this was the same girl who held a weapon of mass destruction in her hands. The very same girl who broke her father's Geass out of sheer willpower alone.

And that girl?

She would be foolish enough to face on any incarnation of her brother with kindness as her sister Euphemia would. She would embrace him just as Clovis would have. With strength that Cornelia could only inspire, she would fight him. So many of their loved ones had been hurt (injuries and beyond, even to death) that it would be a disservice of their love for him to allow this to continue.

"My brother isn't so selfish a person. How could you be in having to care for me every single moment of your life? Even when I was insufferable by throwing tantrums, it was you that held me close to your chest until I couldn't hear my own sobbing."

The masked man stopped mid-tirade, all the while Lelouch stared in shock at Nunnally, who spoke as if she didn't hate him, when, by all rights, she should have cast him away into the hell, but-

...Ah, he was wrong- Of course she'd say something like that.

"...Of course, only you'd be brave and foolish enough to believe that, my dear sister, my sweet, sweet Nunnally..."

Zero(?) was the first to recover out of the two, using the time given by Lelouch's freezing to approach her, before kneeling down and cupping her face with his gloved left hand.

"But that smiling face of yours always sickened me- Yes, it always did."

It would be the first touch of physical contact she's had since his passing back home, leaving her startled and yet comforted in the same gentle stroke. If her smile brought him nausea, then how else was she to pay him in return for all he's done?

"I'm sorry, brother." A feeble voice managed to give him the apology owed. "I never meant to make you feel ill or guilty or anything of that sort."

"Of course you never meant to-, just like how mother never meant to die right in front of you."

Those words said, Zero(?) moved his hand to her neck, as if gripping her in a way that'd certainly make her choke to death.

"You woul-"

The Shadow ignored his true self, as he continued on with his tirade.

"The only reason I did all those was for myself. So I could have you by my side forevermore. Locked up like a bird in the cage. Forever mine to control."

While surprised at the mention of their mother, Nunnally found herself petrified in fear as those thin fingers gripped her in a way she's never felt before. It'd be easy enough to fight back against a stranger as her own arms move as though to counter him, her fingers wrapping themselves around his wrist. All she had to do was pull him away.

She wouldn't though.

Instead, it almost was as though her hands were there to steady his hold, like she didn't think he could do it all on his own.

"All I ever wanted was to live my life alongside you, brother." With a soft voice, she whispered, "You wouldn't have to chain me up for I'd remain there willing."

"..."

The hand relaxed its grip, the Shadow finding himself unable to inflict pain to what his true self holds dear, but nevertheless, Lelouch finally found his own sense of self returning as he grabbed Zero by the collar, pulling him away from Nunnally.

Flashes of memories flew through both of their minds, of days spent in peace- of her own laughter, of her own tears, as well as the good and the bad of those simple days.

"I've always longed for it- those simple days together, but I was too blind to notice what I was doing was wrong, but I had too, after all, I am not worth this world.

I wanted to change it, and if I had to taint my hands with their bloods I'll do it."

The apparition began laughing madly, his moment of lucidity gone the second the word 'it' left his mouth, pushing Lelouch away.

"That's what the Zero Requiem truly is- It was never to create a world for peace, it was to atone for my selfishness!"

Stop it...

Her hands sought out his own resulting in the girl almost falling from her wheelchair once more. She learned from the first time and managed to regain her balance soon enough, being left to watch in surprise from a distance.

"I never thought you were selfish, brother." With a wavering voice, she continued, "You were always taking care of me... It's me who was selfish, wasn't it? I've brought you into this desperate state."

"Oh, you have not seen everything~"

With that, the Shadow unmasked himself, one eye glowing with the curse of the Geass as words began to leave his mouth, words that a certain someone never wished to air to everyone.

"Milly should just die in a fire, she's an annoying woman who needed to be beaten to know her place."

"Stop it..."

"Rivalz, Rivalz, Rivalz... How I wish you stop with your worrying and disappear from my sight!"

"Stop it..."

"And Shirley... Her death was a death well-deserved, after all, she was-"

"STOP IT-!"

With that, Lelouch snapped. The man in white punched the man in black as he closed the distance with one- well, two- leaps as well as a well-aimed punch to the face.

"You're...

You're..."

No, he's a part of myself, I can't just deny i-

"- a bitch."

"No matter how many times I'm reborn..."

"Not."

"I'll always fall in love with you, Lelou...ch..."

"ME!"

He was really starting to get annoyed with his goddess right about now. Especially with his headgod dragging him along for the ride, and now with this-

It's unknown just how long the other was standing there, but soon enough a similar voice can be heard calling out.

"LELOUCH, DON'T-!"

...Well, too late. Yu isn't even sure why, but the Tower card crushes before his eyes without him even calling for it (son of a bitch he has a headache now). In a flash, Yoshitsune is there,placing himself in front of the girl he could guess was Lelouch's sister, sword at the ready as he raced to close the gap.

"Brother!" Her own shriek resonated throughout the hallway (after all, she was well known for her tantrums as a child) at the sight of him being punched. Even if it had been an illusion (one that could hold her so threateningly and tenderly), the visage was still Lelouch.

But now she faced an even greater "problem" as a being appeared between her and the two brothers she had in this place.

"What... what is this?" ~~AND WHY IS IT OBSTRUCTING MY LINESIGHT OF MY SEXY TWIN BROTHER ACTION, RUDE TBH~~

"Ha..."

A pulse of darkness- That was all Lelouch saw before his vision turned to black.

One of them stood up- The one in Zero's get-up as he began laughing, madder than before as darkness from within the fog was pulled towards him

"HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Yes, YES, after all, we're both different, which makes the solution all the more simpler!"

The mad sentence echoed in a surreal manner as the fog dissipated, depositing a giant, mechanic thing that floated, dark hexagons covering it as the echo continued to reverberate.

"I am a Shadow, The True Self! The world shall know my pain, and be banished to oblivion alongside my fake!"

It's almost odd how Yu's voice seemed to double in effect as his Persona casts Power Charge and Heat Riser on itself. He stepped up as he fixed his glasses, the red ring around his irises showing quite clearly if anyone dared to look.

"Protect everyone... ha ha ha. Hast thou forgotten that thou falls under the same command?"

Yu looked to the unconscious Lelouch, then the wheelchair-bound Nunnally.

"Are you alright?"

... Yoshitsune's right eye glowed red as he charged, slashing with Blade of Fury four times.

A weakened nod would be all she could spare for the man who sounded identical to her brother, Nunnally's eyes unable to vanquish the vision of her fallen brother. The way his thin form sprawled out on the floor left her feeling more helpless than ever that she couldn't rise to her feet, that she couldn't pull him into her arms and carry him from this dangerous place.

For a moment she wondered if he would even do the same for her now. The brother she spent her entire life relying on would have had her killed in the eyes of the public if it meant creating a world...

What kind of world did he want now? If this Shadow felt the same as her brother, if this was how Lelouch vi Britannia truly felt about the world, then why did she just want to hold him tightly in her arms?

"If that kind of place would make him happy... is it wrong of me to want it for him?"

If the Shadow heard what Nunnally just said; it certainly didn't do any actions that showed signs that it reciprocated her statement; rather- It just waved it's mechanic arm; and pointed at Yoshitsune as two more giant robots appeared from the shadows.

...

Well, they sure can charge pretty quickly, as both of them crossed the distance in no time at all-!

Would it...? To be honest, he doesn't exactly have an answer for it. Yet he knew one thing for certain. If he didn't change something and fast, they could all be in danger of death. Izanagi wouldn't have that at all, especially for someone who seemed to be defenseless right now.

It reminded him of someone else he knew.

"Change!"

Yoshitsune returned to being a card, the Arcana switching to Judgement before he could think twice of it. Lucifer appears when he crushes the card in his grasp, and in that instant... it's like his personality changed as well.

'Oh my gods I'm really about to fight mechs this is so cool.'

Also deadly, but hush.

"I do not know what kind of life the both of you have led up until this point, but make no mistake..." He flourishes his hand, Lucifer mimicking his movements to a T. "If this isn't defeated, he will die. He will end up worse for it when he returns, too."

And they can't allow that to happen, so they'll face this Shadow and the mechs with them. The idiot.

"LUCIFER."

Without a word from the giant blue, red and demonic monstrosity, they both crush their fists. A mind charged Mabufudyne falls all around them and toward the mechs. This would be so much easier if he knew the weaknesses, but he's willing to try them out one at a time if necessary.

"No, brother!" Rarely did she ever lose her cool, but here she would be. With a blood-curling scream and everything. "Get up!"

A world without her brother... Nunnally just left such a place behind. To think of not having him here in this place (despite the 'he returns' remark) left her sick in ways she never thought possible. Instead, she would consider leaving the safety of her wheelchair just to drag her brother's body back away from this abomination, from this twisted vision of his true self.

Lelouch was slowly regaining his consciousness; but nevertheless the raging battle did nothing to mute the sound of Nunnally's scream, which motivated him to stand up, albeit really slowly.

"I've always wanted to be the king of my own world!"

The Shadow roared as both the giant robots were pushed back, the red one even more so; it appeared that it's knocked down! It's a shame that the white one decided to do a jumping spin kick towards Lucifer, undeterred by that attack.

Yu braced himself, Lucifer taking the blow with unnatural grace though TV static began to form where he took the hit. Yet his user didn't seem to be allowing it to affect him. Lucifer cast Bufudyne on the red robot once more, earning them an opportunity to strike a second time.

Such foolishness...

He shook the thought from his mind as he commanded Lucifer to return to his soul, calling forth Kohryu in the prince of demons' stead. It isn't long before a Mind Charged Maziodyne falls upon all three targets. Never mind that a certain voice was growing even louder in his head, whispering...

The sight of a barrier repelling the thunder shouldn't really be surprising to Yu now, but indeed, that was what happened when the spell was cast. The black-leader type robot's hexagon barrier absorbed some of it, while the rest of the hit connected to it.

"-!"

It didn't do a lot of damage, though.

The white mech dodged it again, while the more cumbersome red one seemed to be knocked down; being unable to move as the Maziodyne dealt quite the amount of damage.

Fortunately, though, there's an opening within the white mech's movement that Yu can probably exploit if he saw it.

Lucifer cast Bufudyne on the red mech once more before glowing of the same blue light again. Yu noticed the changes, making note of them the best he could since he was the only combatant here.

"Change... Yoshitsune!"

The legendary samurai warrior appeared once more, left eye glowing red as it lifts his sword and strikes at all three of them with Hassou Tobi, the strongest physical attack it knew, six times each as red energy blades struck at them from all sides. He would attempt to exploit the weaknesses he knew the best he could, because he wasn't about to let Lelouch die here. No matter how pathetic this Shadow is to hide behind two pawns.

"A king who hath lost his love for his subjects is naught but a fool destined to fall."

...There is sadness and disappointment in his voice, but was it truly him that had spoken-?

Fortunately, the Hassou Tobi actually pierced through the barrier, stumbling the giant robot as it crashed to the ground unceremoniously as it pointed both it's wrist at Yu, shooting two large orbs of pure red energy as it tried to recover it's systems.

The other two, decided at that point to unleash their weapons; the white one a cannon of sorts, while the red one just propped it's arms towards Yu, before both of them shoot out well, bullets and giant beams to your face as well.

Hope you can deal with Almighty damage, Yu.

Son. of. a bitch.

It's a good thing his defense is high and that he has Diarahan available (an ability he just used as the smoke cleared from both attacks, courtesy of Sraosha). His glare was even more piercing than ever, now.

Enjoy the switch to Devil Arcana and thus Beelzebub, and what was that fly going to do but the one ability most Shadows feared above all else but a Mind Charged Megidolaon.

He mad. Yu very mad.

[Lancer stares at the arguing boys.]

Okay, quick question--is one of you a shadow, or are you just twins who can't get along?

Suzaku had been going to see Lelouch, to see if he was in his room. He hadn't seen him since the whale attack, he guessed that Lelouch knew that Rolo was here, and Nunnally...

Suzaku still couldn't believe that Nunnally had been brought here, he had to speak to Lelouch work out a way they could keep her safe despite the many dangers.

He paused at the voices. "Lelouch?" He had noticed the fog of course, and the strange happenings. But strange things happened all the time, but when he saw the two Lelouch's he blinked.

At this point, their argument has breached the point of-

"And what of your own friend, your own Knight of Zero? You doomed him to a live of eternal atonement, all for a plan that's illogical at all, I know it, after all, I am you. All you wanted to do was to have a figure of your own creation as the hero, just like any stories one could hope to create from that cursed nature of yours!"

The Shadow continued speaking, words pouring out as if it was accusing of it's owner on all it's own mistake.

Suzaku blinked and glared at the Lelouch who was speaking. "It's not illogical, there was no other plan."

He knew this, they had both known this. Suzaku had no idea what was going on though, why these two were arguing. But he knew that he deserved the life of eternal atonement that his world had not lasted long enough to give him...

"...Ah, was it now?"

The masked man said as it began taking strides towards Suzaku, as Lelouch realized that another person was eavesdropping on this baseless argument- Right, that's what it was, an argument with his own repressed self-

No, no matter how Yu explained it, it didn't seem proper, restrained, nor did it show any signs of being part of himself apart from it's appearance.

There was no way, no way for this madman to be himself! And yet here he was, unable to proclaim it to others.

Suzaku nodded, facing Zero with a glare. "It was, as you know." He didn't know why he was talking to Zero while Lelouch was right there, but he just turned to the unmasked boy. "What's going on?"

Suzaku might find a forceful hand grabbing him by the chin, preventing him to look at Lelouch; but rather at this man wearing the face of Zero. After all; Suzaku was his.

His, and his alone to control.

"Ah, ah, ah~ No speaking to the fake here."

"Lelouch?" Suzaku's glance was dragged away from Lelouch and onto Zero. He had assumed Zero was the fake one, yet he claimed Lelouch was. "What do you want from him?"

"Simple."

Zero, with a swish of his hand, just like the olden times; snapped his fingers, all the while saying these... words...

"I want to erase him from this world."

Suzaku's eyes narrowed and within a moment he had closed the distance, reaching out to grab Zero's cloak. "I wont let you do that."

"Of course, you'll say that to save your precious king, Suzaku, after the countless betrayals you have done to me."

If it isn't clear enough, the Shadow is sneering as darkness begins to pool below his feet, as Lelouch realized with wide-eyes that something bad is about to happen if that's left unchecked.

"Suzaku, get away from him, now!"

Suzaku's eyes narrowed, his fist tightened in Zero's cloak and he tried to ignore the darkness. Lelouch's words made him move though, he let go and moved over the room to stand in front of Lelouch, between him and his shadow.

And with that, darkness engulfed the Shadow as Lancelot Albion appeared, while Zero disappeared to who knows where.

"I am a Shadow, the true self. And I shall start by wrecking those you hold dear!"

Okay this had got even stranger. Suzaku went into a fighting stance; though fighting against the Lacelot was futile he knew. "Lelouch, get out of here."

"No."

...A refusal came out from within his mouth, if that Shadow really was what Yu warned all of them about earlier, then certainly it wanted to tell him something. Escaping it would be fruitless as in the end, that thing is a part of him, and of course it'd know where he'd be.

"This is my own problem. I should be the one to take care of it."

Suzaku glared at him, "Like you could fight it." He was ready, still stood in between Lelouch and the mecha. "How are you planning to take care of it? You cannot Geass a machine."

"Who said I'm fighting it?"

...That sentence does not sound like it is good news at all; which is the truth as Zero appeared before them once more, before running away from the both of them, as if egging Lelouch on to pursue it.

"Forgive me Suzaku, but it seems like I keep on piling burdens on you."

That said, Lelouch's going to ditch Suzaku with the Lancelot, who... surprisingly let Lelouch go before blocking Suzaku's path once more.

Suzaku blinked, and watched as Lelouch ran after Zero leaving him with Lancelot. Well...

Suzaku got ready to fight, fighting Lancelot... This place got more twisted every day.
