Thankfully, the little speech gave Sollux a second to get ready. As Eridan fired his rifle, Sollux switched his focus from holding the sea dweller to protecting himself. Eridan dropped, and Sollux blasted out with his eyes, catching the blast from Ahab and deflecting it in all directions.

The shockwave knocked him back a few feet as well, but he didn't get torn to pieces. So that was good.
