Characters: Ventus in Roxas' body so basically nothing changes but the clothes, and YOU
Setting: Room 1-16 and around there on the morning of the first day, and various locations that can be placed over the week of the event if you so chose-- just let me know!
Format: Starting prose, like everyone is forced to this week, I can switch
Summary: Ven wakes up on the other side of the room, discovers Kingdom Hearts shenanigans with his existence, and then puts on the detective noir fedora to track down some answers. Since Ven has switched bodies with Roxas, replies will come from Roxas' account (
lamentless)
Warnings: Kingdom Hearts Logic, Stupid Teenagers, Face Twin Shenanigans made worse because of account switching. (Sorry Wing)
[Room 1-16]
Ven had actually had the fortune to wake up in his actual room, but to a completely new perspective. Literally, a new perspective. Though he was still in his own room, he was on a completely different side. Besides that, he didn't actually suspect that much going on-- everything... felt pretty normal, if not a little bit off. It only took another minute to realize the lack of weight on his shoulder and then around his waist and then his feet and then OK what the hell.
An examination of the lack of weight, and he had Roxas' clothes on. What's more, his muscles felt... a lot...less...well, fit. His left hand was unusually weak, there were no callouses where there should've been, and he was sure that if he tried his usual sprinting and acrobatics, that he would fall flat on his damn face. After all, Roxas had done it when he tried.
So wait... was he in Roxas' body? Like his actual body?
Well, Roxas wasn't there, so that was annoying. He stepped out into the hallway, and well... He, had to find his stupid friend of course, but he also had to make sure he wouldn't get murdered if he ran into a monster. He knew Roxas had a Keyblade-- not a grip like Ven was used to, but hopefully it would do. A moment of quiet concentration, holding one hand out, and...
He...summoned two Keyblades. One in each hand. "Wha--?!"
How the fuck.
[Around the Tower]
After the initial shock of why-the-fuck-do-I-have-two-Keyblades, Ven had returned to the roomstolen borrowed Roxas' skateboard, and made his way off. If anything else hadn't convinced him of the body-swap, this sure did, because he was way more coordinated on this thing than he had ever been.
So at many points during the first day and over the course of the week, Ven could be found cruising along through the tower, hopping down the stairs, doing flips, and the like.
He was...probably having way too much fun with that.
[Library]
He had to meet up with Roxas eventually, and this was usually where they were anyway. Plus it was a pretty good place to gather information. So someone could probably find him, browsing through the books or looking on the network.
Detective Noir mode activate.
[Floor Eleven]
Ven didn't have his glidey bullshit anymore, he was in a completely different body that was neither left-handed nor ambidextrous, he was completely unused to the forward grip, and the body he was currently in, while not out of shape, was no warrior's build.
That all sure wasn't gonna stop him from training now!
Honestly, Ven was kind of interested-- confused, but interested. Roxas had two keyblades, and no idea why. Even with progressively worsening symptoms, someone could probably still find him there, in the early part of the day, trying to learn how to fight with two Keyblades. There was some muscle memory to help him, but not much...

"Hello Ven!" Romeo ran up to his friend with a grin, he had never met Roxas and if he had seen him around before he had just assumed it was Ven.
no subject
Needless to say, the fact that they looked the same made this all much less of a headache but... who was this guy he was pretty sure he'd never seen him in his life.
"Uh...I probably know you... who are you?"
no subject
no subject
Yeah, the height thing wasn't lost on him either, seeing as now he has to look up to talk to him. And in Ven's defense, he'd never met whoever owned Romeo's new body either.
"You must have switched bodies with someone else around here. It happened with me and my roommate too..."
no subject
"Oh... so are you not Ven?"
no subject
Huh. Guess Romeo hadn't met Roxas. Probably an oversight on Ven's part, whoops.
"Roxas and I... look almost exactly the same. People usually mix us up when we're not in each other's bodies." And he sighed in exasperation.

Floor 11
So while he usually doesn't stop in this room (something he'll have to remedy, given the nature of the contents), the presence of a familiar blond head catches his attention.] Ven? What are you doing up here?
[While he's somewhat aware of Roxas (if only because of network posts), he still automatically assumes 'Ven'. Lucky for him, right?]
no subject
(It wasn't but he's not saying anything).]
Uh, hey Riku... I'm trying to learn how to fight again, I guess. [S I G H] Roxas hardly ever knows what he's doing, so...
no subject
... oh, what the hell. If this winds up restarting their old prank war, then so be it.
That at least gets a bit of a laugh out of him.] No kidding; even with a year of practical experience, that's what happens when you don't have anyone to teach you.
[Staring at the two Keyblades now. No reverse grip, and longer than Ven is used to wielding. Add in Ven's natural speed, which Roxas doesn't really have... no wonder he's having trouble.] What does he need the most work on? I might be able to help.
[Just in case he bumps into Roxas properly. Once they're all back in their right bodies, he can possibly offer the kid some pointers.]
no subject
[A U G H] I think he only knows how to use one, and he hardly knows how to use that-- it's way heavier than the Struggle Bat he has. I don't think he knows how to use two at all.
[Yeah he'd just kind of...dropped one of them and was just holding one of them normally.] I hardly know how to use more than one myself, and they're way heavier than anything I've used. You wouldn't happen to know how to use them, would you...?
no subject
... He steps up, kneels down, and picks up the Keyblade dropped by Ven, and steps back to give it a test-swing. Yeah... definitely heavier than anything Ven would normally use. Right up his alley normally, and it seems to be right up Riku's.] I think I can manage it.
[Another test swing or two, this time in a stance that is probably a lot more familiar to Ven; a two-handed grip, with the blade held out in front of him and a well-rooted stance that echoes Eraqus.] ... Yeah; you'll want to stick with a two-handed grip until you're used to the weight. This thing's a beginner's blade, but it's meant for slower swings and harder hits.
[Really simple blade, too-- wait, wasn't this Sora's?]
no subject
[Unlike Ven's
heart kids and grandkidsother friends, Ven had a pretty satisfactory memory, especially with his heart back in tact. Even if this uh, wasn't his heart right now.Or was it?But he was also raised to fight, and after training with Terra, Aqua and Eraqus for so long, could pick out their movements, gestures and offensive/defensive habits from a mile away. He'd seen Riku fight... maybe once, and he didn't remember it that well. But he doubted Riku could fight so similarly to someone from the Land of Departure.]
Hey-- OK, who did you get switched with? Because I only know a few people that would naturally hold a keyblade like that!

Floor 11 was sadly in use, but he stopped curiously anyway when he saw who it was... and what they were doing.]

But instead if just kind of...crashed into the ground. That was about it.]
You've gotta be kidding me...!
[Fortunately or not, the keyblade had been thrown over towards his new visitor. And he didn't look that happy!] What are you doing here?
no subject
I merely came to see if the floor was occupied. It seems perhaps I had a similar idea to you...
no subject
You're here to train? [He quirked an eyebrow. The concept seemed both weird to Master Xehanort AND Aqua. Not that Aqua didn't train, but-- she was already way beyond his ability normally, so it was still odd to think about.]
no subject
Is there something so odd about that? This is a different body; one must be prepared for these things. There are... [he looks at the keyblade on the ground with a bit of understanding] discrepancies.
no subject
I guess that makes sense....[Aaaaand he held his hand out, bringing the keyblade back to his hand as if nothing had happened. And pointedly not making eye contact.]
Can't you go anywhere else? Or should I just leave.

DAY 4
And then... more confusing memories started coming. A man in a black coat, and-- then the memories kind of started to...hurt. His head was aching t random intervals, and it felt just like when Master Xehanort and Vanitas had forced his own memories to the forefront only-- worse. They were more chaotic, and some of them seemed like they weren't supposed to be there; memories of a girl with red hair (Kairi? How did Roxas know Kairi?)-- memories of fighting through a dark and ruined world, of Donald and Mickey and Goofy that definitely weren't either of theirs. And-- he remembered being frozen by Eiji, his collar being removed-- well, actually those happened to Roxas, but it sure...seemed like it happened to him...
The point is, Ven was scared. Scared and confused, and now he could hardly see where he was going because for some reason his eyes didn't care enough to work properly anymore and everything was blurry. He knew Aqua was incapacitated, Roxas... man Roxas didn't know half the time what was going on with Roxas, Zelda, Terra and Yu were probably busy helping the others, Romeo was still just a kid and had his own things to worry about-- same with Sayaka and that Kidou kid...Sora probably had no idea either, and had to deal with Vanitas anyway...
Ven didn't know if Naminé was busy, or if she'd even be in her own body, but she was the only one he could think of who might have the answers as to why he was having such a headache. She couldn't help him with everything, sure, but it was the best he could think right now when he was dealing with a panic he'd never dealt with before.
He felt his way along the walls of the dorm floors, trying to remember where her room was. His vision wasn't too blurry that he couldn't completely make out the text, but it took him a moment, and one he was sure, he carefully knocked on her door. "Naminé...? You there?"
no subject
It was only a matter of time, really. She wasn't certain what to expect, but she had to expect something. So when she heard a knock at her door, her trepidation was immediate. The voice on the other side was familiar and welcome even now, though a spike in her worry was also encouraged by that fact. (It was bad enough when it was a stranger suffering, but even worse when it was a not!friend.)
She wasted no time rising to her feet and making her way over to open the door, peering out carefull at first and then opening it more fully.
"... I'm here."
no subject
"Hey-- been a while, huh?" Ven smiled in spite of himself, doing his best to cover up his ever mounting anxiety as he carefully held the side of his head and looked off into space.
"It's Ventus. Not, Roxas." Ahahaha... "Can I...ask you some stuff? If that's OK."
no subject
At his explanation, "I know, Ven." And she did. She might not have known for certain if she wasn't already fully aware of the body swapping in general, but she'd have known something was amiss right away from his expression. Already bracing herself for some unpleasant realization, "Of course. Whatever you need to."
no subject
"I... think I've been getting some of Roxas' memories because of this. I guess that means he's getting some of mine too, but..." How, exactly to explain it?
"I'm remembering stuff that I don't think he even knows about. Some stuff about a girl with red hair, and a group of people in black coats... Some stuff about Xion too. But he's never told me about that stuff before. I was able to summon two Keyblades, and he didn't even know he had two...!"
He rubbed one of his eyes, in a futile attempt to rub the blurriness away. "And... I think there's something weird about his heart..."
no subject
"Ventus... if you're remembering that, then-- you're right. He... doesn't know about those things." And she opened her mouth to address that last part, stopped, shut it. Starting again, "He and I have... spoken about this before. About-- there being things that he doesn't know about himself. And... I gave him a choice, a long time ago, whether or not I would tell him those things. ... He chose to wait. Since then, I've kept quiet." A very brief pause. "I know it's not my place to ask that you do the same, but... please, Ven, consider his wishes."
