Erasing, Debasing
Characters: Vanitas (in Sora's body), OPEN
Setting: All over.
Format: Starting with action, but I will follow your lead!
Summary: Day three to four; Memory shenanigans lead to Vanitas being sporadically nice. Day five; attempting to stop himself from turning into Sora, Vanitas does-- the wrong thing.
Warnings: Darkness, violence, potential injuries.
Notes Lemme know if you'd rather your character didn't get injured to the shithouse, yeah? |D;
Day three/four:
[As he walked down the corridors, now and again, Vanitas found himself-- smiling. At people, for no reason. Sometimes he could shake it off, walk away and act like it didn't happen. Other times? He's not so lucky.]
[And that's just in the first few days. Body exhausted from trying to stick to the normal sleeping patterns his mind has known since birth, Vanitas isn't doing so good. He's not even paying attention to his surroundings, leaning against the wall with a rather distant expression, lips forming various words as his mind runs through an almost indistinguishable train of thought and memory.]
[And every now and again. He smiles.]
Day five:
I can't handle this. [Sora- he- Sora? They have a habit of thinking outloud, driving Vanitas into pacing with faster steps, breathing heavy as he grips locks of hisSora'stheir hair and yanks, hard. HisSORA'S heart is beating so loudly; he's scared. He's scared for the firstdon't lie time in his entire life, and the feeling is not comfortable. Not acceptable after the warmth and peace that had lulled him the previous few days.]
[Feels like hethey're going off to war. Like this is the worst thing that could happen, and the negative emotions are both hideous in how sharp they feel, how deeply cutting they are in the light, and a good...]
[Wake up call. ThistheySora isn't himbut he isbut he wishes, and yet he's losinggiving in and he just. CAN'T. do that.]
I have to end this. I have to end this. I have to...
[I always wanted to be whole.]
I am not weak.
[The first thing that could indicate something wrong is the anguished scream that rings throughout the tower, from one of the dorm rooms. At that pitch, it's hard to make out just who it is; someone succumbing to a monster, or some horrid side affect of the experiment.]
[Then it's silent. Deathly silent. The shadows seem to stretch out a little wider, and you just might want to watch....your step.]
[Especially walking down those long corridors. Towards the windows, or just past them. Those little points of light that cause your own shadow to stretch out all the more.]
[Because the closer you get to the light, the greater your shadow becomes.]

Floor 20, Day 4 evening
Thus it's while visiting this floor - a floor with so much significance to her - that she spots Sora leaning against the stairs (there being a lack of any real walls to speak of). She approaches him cautiously - she knows by now of the lot of people with switched bodies, so she's not sure if Sora is Sora right now.]
Hello?
no subject
[VanSora blinks, eyes focusing on Xion before he gives her a welcoming smile. He almost feels guilty; it's been days, and he hasn't even checked to see how she's been doing--]
[Why would he check--]
Hey, Xion.
[She's... not just a Ventus wannabe, after all.]
no subject
Hey. Are you okay? There's... a lot of strange stuff going on lately.
[To understate. Come to think of it, Sora had been in Jason's last experiment. She's... hoping he got a break this time. He doesn't seem to have switched bodies, though being slumped against the stairs didn't seem to indicate he was all right, either.]
no subject
I guess I haven't been getting enough sleep; everyone's having some trouble with...
[Well. She knows just what he means, really.]
How have you been though?
no subject
Okay. Feeling a lot better.
[Her side still aches a little, but mostly she's doing okay. Cure spells help too. And besides, if Sora's not feeling too great, she doesn't want to worry him.]
I was just gonna watch the sunset. I... did that a lot... with my friends, back home.
[There's a silent offer there, if he wants to take it]
