He could do this whole survival thing. It was easy as pie.
Or maybe it should just be said that pie was easy. Hunting and skinning your own animal? Not so much.
Gamzee wanted to consider himself a fairly competent human, though. He'd caught the animal - that was the most important part of the process down. He'd built the campfire too, at least in that he'd cleared out a pit, put some rocks around it, and dumped a bunch of twigs inside. Unfortunately, he'd forgotten to try and steal some matches from somewhere first, so he was left with the difficult task of getting a fire started without them.
What did you do now? Smack some rocks? Rub some sticks together, right?
The rabbit lay unskinned, as he didn't want to mess with that until the fire was ready just in case that would make it all nasty. ...Though at the rate this was happening, it might go bad anyway. Perhaps he should just give up and start searching for a microwave.

"Just wait right here!" she instructed, a little flustered as she darted back into the trees. She was gone for a while, the only indication that she was still in the area was the rustling in the overgrowth and the sudden thud of her falling out of a tree.
When she finally did return, a few new scrapes and stains on her clothes, she had cupped in her hand a number of berries and a few mushrooms she was positive were safe to eat. With a smile she extended her arms and offered Gamzee the meager meal.
"Here, you don't have to cook it. It's okay to eat, I'm pretty sure."

He waited with a sigh, continuing to poke at the fire pit for no real reason.
When she returned and held out her hands, he just stared at the contents. "...You don't all eat nothin' warm and filling with all that shit?"

"...That's all kinds of sweet of you, sister," he muttered, not really feeling guilty for his actions but feeling like he at least owed her a little more courtesy than he'd given.

"I can find you more if you want. I lived in the forest before the tower so I know all about what you can and can't eat around here." Putting her hands on her hips she gave a curt nod as if to signify it was her specialty.
It wasn't but it was useful enough when there was nothing else to eat.

How was he supposed to survive in the real world if he couldn't even catch and cook his own meat?

Maybe it would be best just to leave him be, lest he start getting angry again. But then he might get angry at her for leaving so suddenly. She's still not exactly sure what causes that kind of reaction.
"Is there anything else you need?"

Or at least that's what he figured, anyway. Fire was important.

That was pretty much all she could offer, her first attempt at fire didn't work out so well and she didn't really know any other way. With a hasty wave she dashed back into the forest.

She was a sweet kid, and probably too sweet for him.
