So that last week had been hell, and they really should have seen it coming, but it's as they all say...

It was just another Tuesday in Tower What The Helsinki is Going On Here.

Unlike the private party, there are definitely plenty of decorations courtesy of the Amagi Inn heiress, and plenty of food thanks to those who offered to hunt for the event and the ones who could prepare what was caught and gathered. Really, everything's set. Even some alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks were clearly labeled (so please, don't spike the normal punch. There are kids here!).

So why was this all set up? Why, because they had succeeded in pissing in Jason's cornflakes and got him maaaaad figuring out the cure for the madness of the previous week with the clues that had been given. But wait, was there a birthday or two this month that had otherwise gone unnoticed? Well, why not celebrate them while celebrating their hard-earned victory? There's cards on a table for people to write down the lucky people who survived another year of this craziness, just waiting for well wishes (or not so, depending on if you like them or not).

[He shifts his arms to try and pick her up in a bridal carry.]

I've had to make do with just kisses since I came to the Tower. Let's just say I'm a little...

[He gives a playful growl.]

Oh ho. [She smiled, then gave him another kiss, her hands moving to distract him] Then I should make it worth your while.

[puppy_lancer]

[He starts moving toward the stairs.]

Hell yeah, and I'll bet I'm better than any other hero you've ever run into.

A challenge. You better hope you rise to the occasion.

And do I get punished if I don't?

Of course. [Her smile deepened]

I'll take this warning. But the punishment better not be dog biscuits.

[She snorted] That would be a bad pun on my part.

[He has a look of hearfelt gratitude on his face.]

Finally, someone realizes that!

[She blinked at him, a bit nonplussed] What do you mean by that? I was referring to the fact my father could turn into a wolf.

[puppy_lancer]

[He cringes.]

Oh. I was...kinda referring to my own history.

Oh? [She shifted in his arms, now very interested] What do you mean by that?

Okay, you have to promise me two things. No laughing, and no dog jokes.

You know of my own heritage. Unless it is particularly funny, I find no reason to laugh.

[puppy_lancer]

Okay, so the deal is, I'm this ancient hero. Cu Chulainn. It means "Hound of Culann". You see, when I was a kid, I killed this hellhound that wanted to eat me, but the owner was pretty sad about his dog dying. So I decide, what the fuck, I'll make it up to him, and I train another dog to take the first one's place. Of course, he needs someone to guard his house while I'm training the dog, so I took the dog's place. The man's name was Culann, so from then on, everyone called me Cu Chulainn.

[A pause.]

And some people have seen fit to turn it into a joke involving dogs.

I have the urge to adopt a vicious dog now.

[puppy_lancer]

...Was that just a dog joke?

[Not her too!]

[divinitysoiled]

[In a way.]

Hunting companions are nice. Humans are too moral for it, and end up becoming food. [She fell quiet at that, having another thought]

I'd hunt with you, long as you're not eating humans. Dunno where we'd get you an actual dog, though.

You're not exactly human, are you. I say you would make a perfect companion.

[puppy_lancer]

[He shakes his head.]

No, I can't. I mean, I can help you out now and then, but it can't be anything official.
