So that last week had been hell, and they really should have seen it coming, but it's as they all say...

It was just another Tuesday in Tower What The Helsinki is Going On Here.

Unlike the private party, there are definitely plenty of decorations courtesy of the Amagi Inn heiress, and plenty of food thanks to those who offered to hunt for the event and the ones who could prepare what was caught and gathered. Really, everything's set. Even some alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks were clearly labeled (so please, don't spike the normal punch. There are kids here!).

So why was this all set up? Why, because they had succeeded in pissing in Jason's cornflakes and got him maaaaad figuring out the cure for the madness of the previous week with the clues that had been given. But wait, was there a birthday or two this month that had otherwise gone unnoticed? Well, why not celebrate them while celebrating their hard-earned victory? There's cards on a table for people to write down the lucky people who survived another year of this craziness, just waiting for well wishes (or not so, depending on if you like them or not).

[ She'll produce the box from behind her and hand it to him. It's wrapped with a few sheets of paper - nothing too special, but it's the thought that counts. ]

I wanted to say thank you for earlier and for everything you've done so far. I have not felt this happy in a long time.

[Yu blinks, accepting it. He's pretty sure he didn't tell anyone about his birthday, so maybe this was... no, she pretty much did say it was just a 'thank you' present. He pauses, then smiles faintly.]

You don't really need to thank me. [A beat.] In fact, I should be thanking you.

[ She doesn't really know it was his birthday, but she had a sort of "feeling". So, she'll just chalk it up to pure coincidence. Still, she'll smile too and then quickly shake her head. ]

No, I really ought to thank you. You opened my eyes not just during our first meeting, but a second time earlier this month and gave me hope that I can change my future. [ A beat. ] You do so much for others that I just wanted to give back in some way.

[Well, those "feelings" sure are accurate enough. If he were the kind to get flustered easily, ht probably would be a little pink right about now. But it's Yu, so that smile only grows slightly; muted it may seem on the outside, but that light is definitely burning strong once again in his eyes.]

And you helped me see through the fog and accept the truth I was running away from. Most would have left me after what my other self had said, but you and the others didn't.

[She may have just been one of the many voices that lead him through even the densest lies, but it didn't diminish how important this faint bond was to him. He bows slightly in thanks, and when he does... she may catch a glimpse of his true self's mask. Izanagi's been doing that a lot, lately.]

[ In her mind, if she can help anyone overcome anything, even with her small doubts and insecurities, she's pretty much happy. So, helping Yu out was more than just a duty as a friend - it was rewarding and made her feel that she could do things without them blowing up badly in her face. ]

How could I not? After you helped me with my other self, I couldn't just leave you there to suffer because that's not what friends do, right?

[ Any sort of bond she can forge is an important one, she'll admit. And so, when he bows, she'll curtsy and straighten up once he does too. She'll definitely catch that mask and wave slightly at Izanagi. ]

Now, I think you'll like what I got you.

[...They're pretty alike in that sense, then. After all, one who has over one hundred eighty masks and possibilities was certainly one who had a few insecurities their own. In fact, her words now were easing them just like his probably helped his friends without his realizing until the voices spoke up in his head-

'Greetings, child.'

Okay, that one didn't count.]

You're right. It isn't. [Though now he's a little curious... so don't mind him as he nods slightly, and begins to carefully open it...]
