009 | ❝We are the champions...!❞

Characters: Anyone and everyone!
Setting: Floor Four, September 25th.
Format: Go wild with whatever!
Summary: EVERYBOOOOOOOOOOOOODY, YEAH, ROCK YOUR REAL BODIES OUT~
Warnings: Do we need warnings for partying? ...Naaaaaaaaaaaah.

So that last week had been hell, and they really should have seen it coming, but it's as they all say...

It was just another Tuesday in Tower What The Helsinki is Going On Here.

Unlike the private party, there are definitely plenty of decorations courtesy of the Amagi Inn heiress, and plenty of food thanks to those who offered to hunt for the event and the ones who could prepare what was caught and gathered. Really, everything's set. Even some alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks were clearly labeled (so please, don't spike the normal punch. There are kids here!).

So why was this all set up? Why, because they had succeeded in pissing in Jason's cornflakes and got him maaaaad figuring out the cure for the madness of the previous week with the clues that had been given. But wait, was there a birthday or two this month that had otherwise gone unnoticed? Well, why not celebrate them while celebrating their hard-earned victory? There's cards on a table for people to write down the lucky people who survived another year of this craziness, just waiting for well wishes (or not so, depending on if you like them or not).

Enjoy the night!

Feel free to tag into this however you please, whether it's something already on here, or you want to do something else. It's your party, guys... let loose and have fun with it!
As this goes on, we'll add them to the list. Enjoy the spoils of victory, people of the Animoo!
Mingle!
Birthday Silliness!
Games!

[ Twitching. ] When one faces off against a Saber, they care little for giving them the opportunity to use their weapon.

[ Sakura must have made a gamble that Rin herself wasn't comfortable in making at the beginning of her war. It's not every day someone runs into the most outstanding spirit mere hours after acquiring their own. ]

I guess she didn't learn a thing after I left. Taking on pointless risks is what got her killed in mine. [ Or so she assumes since Rin destroyed the world and ended up here. ]

[personal profile] scorchedchivalry 2012-10-01 05:53 pm (UTC)(link)
A prudent move, but I am afraid Sakura possesses a cunning no one would believe her capable of. More than you, I would be willing to claim.

Though you are far more ruthless than she. I will give you that.

[personal profile] angramaintsu 2012-10-02 03:53 pm (UTC)(link)
A move she lucked out on. Nothing more.

[ It bothers her to talk about Sakura this way, but Rin has to stick to the topic at hand for now. ]

If I had to take a guess, it was because she started her training so late. Living as a normal child for a few years must have given her something that I never had.

[personal profile] scorchedchivalry 2012-10-02 11:00 pm (UTC)(link)
[Oh, the most unimpressed look from Saber.]

I believe her age was still in the single digits when her training began.

[personal profile] angramaintsu 2012-10-06 03:38 pm (UTC)(link)
Still much older than most magi. [ Not that she can fault her father for it; even now she's still loyal towards him. ] No one can fault her for that.

[ Bored of the topic already, she shifts her gaze elsewhere. ]

What's with this crowd?

[personal profile] scorchedchivalry 2012-10-07 01:45 am (UTC)(link)
It is called a party. Have you ever attended one before?

[personal profile] angramaintsu 2012-10-07 05:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Why would I waste my time with an event like that?

[ Nope. ]

[personal profile] scorchedchivalry 2012-10-07 05:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Forgive me for forgetting that you lack the social skills where such an event would be useful to you.

[personal profile] angramaintsu 2012-10-07 09:03 pm (UTC)(link)
There's nothing anyone here can say that would be worth whatever I might have to say or give in return.

[personal profile] scorchedchivalry 2012-10-07 09:18 pm (UTC)(link)
You truly are inept in this arena. Perhaps you are not as ruthless as I had believed.

[personal profile] angramaintsu 2012-10-09 03:42 am (UTC)(link)
Because I choose to not associate with people? [ A scoff. ] If I did any of that...

[ They could see her for what she truly was. Rin's always kept herself guarded, even at school, for that exact reason. Here though? She wasn't the only monster that roams the rooms. ]

Well, I just don't bother because it's a waste of time. Name someone in this room who's worth it and I just might accept I am wrong.

[personal profile] scorchedchivalry 2012-10-09 03:55 am (UTC)(link)
Aside from me?

[Saber smirks a little before her expression goes serious again.]

Think, Rin. Expand your thoughts and tactics beyond the Holy Grail War. What is it that wins wars? Tactics, people and command. All three of those are tied together. The more people that are drawn to you, that follow you, the more you have at your command. The more at your command, the better your tactical options are. The more you have willing to die for you.

Now, an honorable and noble commander will not ask such of those under his command. But the ruthless will manipulate them into a position where they will offer their lives. And then, you are not sacrificing them for your own gain but accepting their offer for the good of all. The ruthless use people, Rin.

[She points to Catarina.] There is a succubus with amazing charisma that can be used as a distraction when you want someone out of the way but not dead. [Her eyes flicker over to Rin.] Or if you find Lancer is no longer satisfying you.

[personal profile] angramaintsu 2012-10-09 04:18 am (UTC)(link)
[ Admitting that Saber is right is out of the question, but admitting she's wrong too? She gives a small groan as she looks towards Catarina with disinterest. ]

Why would I ever waste my time with someone who would gain nothing from our time together? Equivalent exchange is the only reason I care to be that way with Lancer.

[ A smirk. ] Besides, why waste my time with a succubus when I have superior alternatives within reach?

[personal profile] scorchedchivalry 2012-10-09 04:34 am (UTC)(link)
You have more than enough prana that she would be quite satisfied and indebted to you afterward. It is how she feeds.

And try as she might, I will not give her so easily what she desires. But she is useful. That is the key, Rin.

[Saber chuckles.] You waste your time as is; there is always a superior alternative.

[Come on, Rin. Lancer? Pfft.]

[personal profile] angramaintsu 2012-10-09 10:15 am (UTC)(link)
Usefulness is the key here, is that so?

[ Yeah, she's definitely giving Saber a shit-eating grin. ] Speaking of superior alternatives, have you found a Master suitable to your needs here? I can't imagine it's any fun being in a place surrounded by fiends, but not able to fight at your full ability.

[personal profile] scorchedchivalry 2012-10-09 02:18 pm (UTC)(link)
I have a master. [Sakura.] You are quite mistaken if you think I am limited in any manner here.

I have simply not had cause to use my full capacity within the Tower.

[personal profile] angramaintsu 2012-10-10 09:34 am (UTC)(link)
A shame. I wonder who you'll end up having to run to if you run too low.

[ It's almost tempting to trick Saber into fighting game that may be too powerful for her. Rin's able to quell that thought by bringing up another one related to the topic at hand. ]

How well is a Servant able to perform without a Master? I have one that threatened me last we spoke and I really do not wish to give him a chance to actually lay harm upon me. If the best they can do is use their weapon, but not their Noble Phatasm, I might have a chance to... ah, how do you put it?

[ Tapping her fingers. ] Put him in the dog house?

[personal profile] scorchedchivalry 2012-10-11 02:19 am (UTC)(link)
I will not have that problem. [Saber wasn't sure -where- it was coming from, but she was receiving a steady supply of prana. It was... disconcerting.]

And the answer to that question is dependent upon the Servant Class. Some are better than others. You should know that the Archer Class possesses--

[She pauses and sighs. No, this Rin does not know.]

The Archer Class possesses an ability that allows them to work well without a master for a while depending on their strength. If you want to know what the Lancer Class can and cannot do without a master, I suggest asking your own Hound.

[She will not answer that question regarding Noble Phantasms.]

[personal profile] angramaintsu 2012-10-11 11:46 am (UTC)(link)
[ That pause bothers her more than it should. Rin hates lacking knowledge when she should have it, but it's not worth complaining about to Saber. Too personal of a topic and it's best they keep that line uncrossed. ]

How? By relinquishing control over him and giving him the chance to be seduced by that succubus? [ Rin's not on board with that idea, but her statement does give away more than she realizes. Lancer's loyalty to her may only extend as far as their pact. ] As if I'd take an unnecessary risk. When I'm wanted dead by a Servant, it's best to keep one nearby at all times.

[personal profile] scorchedchivalry 2012-10-11 02:47 pm (UTC)(link)
[Saber catches it. She can tell Rin isn't as well off as she claims to be. When one's Servant is only loyal because the command seals demand it...]

If your Lancer claims to not know his capacity when not contracted to you, to not know his own construction, then I would think he is lying to you. You need not relinquish your control for him to know.

And the moment you would, he would kill you just as quickly as the other Hound would. [Her lips curl up a bit cruelly.] If you think it is best to keep your Servant nearby at all times when another wants you dead, why is it that I do not sense the presence of yours.

It is Lancer, Rin. Not Assassin. Your Hound cannot conceal his presence from me.

[personal profile] angramaintsu 2012-10-13 10:40 pm (UTC)(link)
[ In all honesty, she knew better than to question Saber like that. The most outstanding Servant is more keen and astute when it comes to the details, especially when compared to Lancer. She's left to think it over, before she relaxes. ]

I don't want him around in my affairs all the time. So long as he comes when I whistle for him, then why do I care where he's at? It's not like that other Lancer knows how to kill efficiently. He hesitates and stares as me strangely.

It--[ Bothers her actually. ]--is so irritating, but a relief at the same time. He'll waste minutes contemplating whether or not to strike me.

[personal profile] scorchedchivalry 2012-10-14 03:07 pm (UTC)(link)
[And it is then that Saber, without the hesitation Rin spoke of, summons her invisible blade and swings it at Rin's head in one fluid, fast motion. She might only have Rank D Agility after her corruption, but that is still faster than most magi can react.

But the blade stops short, halted by the knight brandishing it, though Rin would be able to feel the edge so very, very close to her neck. Her eyes bore into Rin's for a moment. Her point made, she dismisses the unholy sword and relaxes back into her seat.]

It does not help when you cannot whistle for your dog.

[personal profile] angramaintsu 2012-10-15 11:35 am (UTC)(link)
Tch! [ Clucking her tongue, she looks away. ] So are you suggesting that I pick up a Servant that I can have at my side and in my affairs at all time?

[ Rin's not sure if she wants someone like that around in her life sadly enough. Having always been a loner, the thought of having a constant babysitter was embarrassing. ]

[personal profile] scorchedchivalry 2012-10-15 02:49 pm (UTC)(link)
I never said anything about being in your affairs. You are a master, are you not? The Servant is to listen to the Master. That is the way it works. If you command them to stay out of your affairs, then they should listen.

Otherwise, you may find yourself without your head one day.

[personal profile] angramaintsu 2012-10-16 12:13 pm (UTC)(link)
You must not be very familiar with the Lancers we have in this tower. [ If anything, the two of them both appeared to suck at keeping things to themselves. ] They seem to care not for things of that nature nor for boundaries nor for social cues.

... I have an idiot for a Servant. [ Must find another one. ]
