Summary: Rosa and Battler meet to discuss why their memories don't match up.
Warnings: Rosa in Homura's body and general Umineko mind-screw-ness.

Rosa has found herself a table in the corner of the cafeteria, away from the rest of the crowd. To better blend in, she had grabbed a bowl of oatmeal, but it sat on her table, going untouched.

She scans the room, looking for Battler. Despite being in the presence of all these people, she still feels tense. She still isn't sure on the identity of the Battler that she had spoken to, and she had even less idea as to what he was capable of.

"Where is he..."

Rosa does her best to smile back at him.

"Hello again, Battler-kun. It is a...pleasure to finally see you in-person here."

[titties]

He takes his seat. "Yeah, I'm glad to see you, too. Not sure if it's the best circumstances, though."

[homurosa]

"At least there are no Witches, not for the time being."

The closest thing was Rosa herself, in the body of a magical girl.

She folds her hands above the table. If he does not see her as a threat, he would be more likely to tell the truth.

"Heh, well... about that..."

It was a long story. And he wasn't sure how Rosa would take it.

"... I've got a pretty ridiculous story to tell you."

[homurosa]

"Oh? Even more ridiculous than the existence of Beatrice? I would certainly like to hear."

[titties]

At that, he brings his hand up, showing the Ushiromiya ring to her. "Yeah. Something like that, anyways. It's probably on the same level."

[homurosa]

Her body stiffens.

"Battler-kun, how..."

[titties]

"I know it sounds crazy, but.... The epitaph. The answer was solving it, after all." His expression turns much more serious, brows furrowing.

[homurosa]

"The epitaph..."

A bitter smile.

"It was a large amount of gold, after all."

[titties]

"... Yeah." The ring meant far more to him than the headship--then having the gold. The gold was something he never wished for. What need did he have for it?

"To be honest with you, it's all stuff I don't really need." He's come to find things more important, anyways.

[homurosa]

"Funny how you only ever realize that too late."

She still had Maria, but as far as she knew, Rudolf and Kyrie were both dead.

"Did you...stop her? The Witch?"

[titties]

"... Yeah. I did." He cringes at the thought.

"But... I brought her back." This... part was something he had hesitated to tell her. But, if she would come back to Rokkenjima, it was a truth that she would come to know.

[homurosa]

Her body tenses, and she starts scooting away.

"Why? To report her to the police? Not even they can handle...that!"

[titties]

"... She's not as bad as she seems." It takes him a moment for him to say that, but it is truly the case.

[homurosa]

"She murdered your entire family!"

That comes out louder and angrier than she intended.

"And Maria...she would have killed her too!"

"It's a little different than what you think--" But, it wasn't in anyway that he himself could really explain, either.

[homurosa]

"Different? Are you going to tell me people whose intestines have been ripped out of their bodies and reek of decay were still alive? And could still live for well over a day? Even after their blood and tongues and skin have been made into food?"

"... No. That type of stuff isn't excusable. In fact, it's almost unforgivable. I can't excuse that kind of thing at all."

[homurosa]

"And the Witch did that, you know."

[titties]

"... Yeah. You don't have to tell me that."

[homurosa]

"So if you cannot forgive her, why do you say things are different? What is going on here, Battler-kun?"
