01 || Sleeping Beauty
Characters: Kanon and you!
Setting: Fourth floor
Format: I'll match you
Summary: Kanon refuses to wake up. Maybe someone could wake her before nightfall?
Warnings: Extremely vague references to kidnapping.
You may have heard about a new entrant to the tower. A rather pretty young girl still decked out in the skintight suit, no older than 15 years old, with a small, faint scar running along a patch of her neck and wrists with dark welts and bruises imbedded in the flesh. There’s something sinister about her injuries; the marks encircle her wrists too perfectly to be some kind of accident, and the line across her throat is simply too straight. She seems well, though, her face showing no signs of pain, although it’s hard to really take in the possible severity of her injuries when she remains curled in a ball on a sofa, eyes glued shut and breathing steady; every bit the image of a regular teen girl in desperate need of a nap. No matter who goes by, no matter how much noise they make or how much they shake her, the young girl simply refuses to open her eyes and wake up.
You may notice, though, if your senses are keen enough, the way the teen gulps and shifts not even an inch away when you come near; both actions quite... unnatural for someone supposed to be asleep. Why, you might even image that the girl is, well, faking it. Lying. Acting. Pretending to be asleep for whatever reason. But that’s just silly. Why would anyone pretend to be asleep in an unfamiliar place? Isn’t that rather counterproductive, considering she could be spending this time trying to find her captor? No. The girl must be sleeping. She simply shifted in her sleep is all; probably dreaming of home, or a picnic, or something else that suits her delicate image.
A natural born ‘Sleeping Beauty’ like this couldn’t lie, after all. Though, perhaps, somehow, you might find a way to bring her out of her unconscious state; preferably before night falls and the monsters come for her in search of an easy meal.

So don't mind this other girl here, okay. She'll just be poking Kanon with her big golden staff, not really gently or anything either. ]
no subject
She is concerned about the poking, though. Mostly because it's uncomfortable and very, very hard to pretend to sleep through. So, not that she's blowing her cover or anything, but Kanon is going to inch away to protect herself from any more prods.]

[ She frowns for a moment, as if she's displeased by the turn of events. ]
Wha-t..? [ She notices that inch - and while it could be coincidence, she's not betting on it. ] Did you really think nobody would notice that?
no subject
Still, the tone is enough to creep Kanon out, making it all the more difficult for her to force her eyes open a crack to peek out at the other girl.]
Stop poking me.

Ah, so I was right. Of course I was! [ she sounds pretty satisfied with herself, honestly. ] Of course nobody would really be sleeping in the middle of a place like this unless they were a complete idiot, ready to give up and die..!

Someone might. What if they were really sleepy?
no subject
[ she could know - she is one of those people, really. ]

[Welp. These two are going to get along well.]

If you see something, don't you just wish you could break it?

[He sees her shift. It's too unnatural to be anything but a reaction to his presence. He's interested now. Why would a girl pretend to sleep on the couch?]
[He decides he'll just half-lean, half-sit on the armrest while waiting for her to wake up. In a way, looking at her sleep, if she's even actually sleeping, reminds him of Misaya. After the curse ate away at her limbs, she started taking to lounging on her couch more and more, and sometimes even slept fitfully, the pain from the curse invading even her dreams.]

However, the worst doesn't seem to come. Cracking a single eye open to peek at her visitor, Kanon immediately returns to her falsely sleeping state and squirms away, obviously afraid. Lancer's so much larger than the boys. Obviously much stronger, too. If the one of the most feminine of the boys could hurt her so badly, who knows what a grown man could do to her?
Honestly, she'd rather not find out.]

But, feeling that the stranger makes no move towards her, she lets herself mutter a single word;]
Yes?

[He still doesn't make any move either toward or away from her.]
Sleeping in an open place like this can be dangerous, little lady. Especially if it gets late.
