Floor Thirteen: Cathedral

This is something new. Spain wonders when did this appear, but decides not to dwell on it. Instead, she sits in a pew, clasping her hands together around her cross as her head bows low (inwardly she thinks she should have brought down her rosary). Her eyes are shut, but she's trying to hold back tears.

"Dios te salve, Maria. Llena eres de gracia: El Señor es contigo..."

Floor One: Cafeteria

Sighing when she reaches the cafeteria, Spain recalls the number of floors between her dorm and the cafeteria. Thirteen, the unlucky number, which ironically is the floor where the cathedral is.

Shaking her head, she mutters to herself, "Must have been a coincidence..." before helping herself to the food. Two small meat pies, salad and juice. She wasn't that hungry to begin with.

By this point, the detective was almost done. He finished the mouthful he had before speaking.

"Rescues tend to be a sadly necessary part of the cases I take whenever they crop up. Usually from more immediate dangers than power outages, though."

"You're like a superhero then?" she continues to ask, taking out two lollipops from her pocket. She offers one to the man, unwrapping her own and sucking it into her mouth.

He'll take that with a light nod of thanks, but it's pocketed rather than consumed immediately. "Something to that effect, yes."

Her eyes widen in delight, and a bright smile blooms across her face. "That's amazing. But it must be tough on someone so young like you, Tariño."

He chuckles, stroking his chin a bit with a somewhat smug look. "Well, the burden is worth the smiles I protect..."

"That is true." Spain leans in, waving the little stick of candy around nonchalantly. "So, have a girlfriend?"

"Ah, yes. Miss Francisca, actually."

"You're dating my best friend?"

It was more of a sudden shock rather than an accusation, possibly thankfully for Shoutarou. Because she knows France rarely sticks to one person for more than a year.

"...I suppose I am!" The detective blinks. "I was not aware that you two were acquainted - granted, I also just met a few days ago."

"Small tower."

"Well, you know how relations between Nations are." She gives a little nonchalant wave, chuckling softly. "Francia and I, we go quite a way back."

"Ah, right, right. Do forgive me, history was not a strong point of mine in school." He grins a bit sheepishly.

Spain smiles, patting his hand again. "Well then, it's time for you to relearn some things."

"I suppose so." He chuckles, then sighs a bit. "What do you have in mind?"
