Characters: Disciple (
bloodwriter ) and Signless (
iron_infidel )
Setting: All day within floor 38
Format: Any which way we want!
Summary: Thanks to Darkleer coming back, Di and Sign decide its about time to see what happened that dark day.
Warnings: Loads and loads of sad/depressing/heartfelt feels.
Ever since Signless came back into her life, Disciple was very protective of him. She stayed by his side every chance she had, making sure nothing had happened to him again. But he started asking questions, questions that she tried her best to avoid. She didn't want to relive that moment, to let him know that everything went downhill and he was murdered horribly.
And things would have gone "fine" if it wasn't for one troll coming back. The one troll that was involved in their horrible horrible event.
She was just grateful to run into that troll first (or at least she thinks so), but she knew that the time had come. It was time to finally talk to her matesprite about that awful day...
So reserving a spot within floor 38, Di made a nice sized pile of pillows and blankets, and awaited for him to come.

"Ok then. One day we were traveling and preaching like usual. Sadly it was not our day, for we were suddenly ambushed and taken."
She sighed again. "It turns out a spy was within the crowd and they had told authorities. They were hidden all over the place and surrounded us. We tried fighting them all off, but they were too many of them. They overpowered us and we were all taken to jail..."

"Continue, my love."

"Once we were in jail, we were not there for long. The very next day they dragged us out to be executed for all to see."
Tears started to form in her eyes, and she paused for a bit. "It was overwhelming how many trolls were there, screaming and taunting, wanting us all to suffer. It was amazing how big of a spectacle they made of this, on us being kill. It made me feel frightened. Especially when they started dragging us apart one by one to be culled."

"It was scary how hard they pulled you away from me. I tried so hard to make sure that I was taken first, but they wanted you. They wanted to address the 'problem' first by culling you!"
She soon began breaking down and crying.
"And they strung you up! They made us all watch while they hung you on these weirdly shaped hot irons and tortured you! It had gotten so bad that once an arrow hit your body, you started sputtering out a loud vicious sermon. One where you started hating everything and everyone!"
Pretty soon she shook and shown a hateful stare away from him
"And the one who put that arrow in you was the same fucker whom you just met previously!!"

"I'm not very sure on their fates. Because once you had died, I was to be culled next. But for some reason, that executioner just wouldn't let me die! He just told me to run and I was so scared of what you told everybody within your Vast Expletive, that I just ran. I did not even know how I acquired your leggings! I just continued to run until I collapsed. It wasn't until 4 sweeps later that I had learned of the others demise."
She took a gulp of air and brushed the hair out from her eyes.
"Dear Porrim was sold into slavery towards the horrible sea-dwellers, and poor Mituna was given the fate of being the helmsman to the queen's ship. No doubt because of his special ability. And they had the nerve to call it prestigious! I don't even know if they are even living when I was taken to this place!"

He lets go of her and pulls away his hands come to rest on his forehead and hide his face away form her. Mouth opens to speak but all that comes out is a subtle whine. He had no idea what to say to her or how to proceed form here. Was there even a point to his presence in this tower? Could he even create his dream and try and seek a new outside the tower? Why did the younger ones even look up to him, did they even know of what his fate had been and the anger that echoed into the future and harbored itself within his very descendent. Karkat, suddenly it made sense to him.... No. This was not what he had prophesied. Suddenly all the hints that had been dropped during his stay here, which he had avoided like a forgotten trail of bread crumbs, came together.
Dolorosa had acted so relieved upon hearing his last memory, been so protective and Disciple. He lifts his head in her direction but could nto bring himself to meet her eyes. He had failed her, failed them all.

She didn't want to leave him behind when he was at his most vulnerable. She would feel even more of a failure! So instead, Meu just curled up into a ball where she sat and wept silently.

He adverts his eyes from her and tries to take a deep breath to calm himself, "Disciple...I am sorry that I have pained you." it was all he thought to say.
