Not the most dignified entrance, but it'll do.
Characters: AU Kyuubey, open to all.
Setting: Room 2-03, Cafeteria, and then Floors 22-24. Yep.
Format: Starting with action brackets, but I'll match you.
Summary: An incubator with emotions arrives in the Tower. Shenanigans ensue, including but not limited to getting stuck on floor freaking 23.
Warnings: Possible death because ha ha incubator.
[Room 2-03]
[Kyuubey was not expecting this outcome. Ze could never have; the world was being destroyed and rewritten, and ze as well was to be rewritten. That had been all right. That had been acceptable.
Waking up with sleep paralysis was not all right. Waking up in an unknown place was not acceptable. After recovering enough to move, ze pads over to the notes in order to read them. Information is power, after all.
Your world has been destroyed. I saved you. Let's all be happy here.
This was unacceptable, and in a show of extreme maturity and calculation, Kyuubey began poking at the letter with a paw, as if trying to break it - or somehow make it not exist. It was an irrational reaction, ze knew that. What was done was done, and yet those feelings remained.]
[Cafeteria]
[S'up all. There is a tiny catlike critter with a violet collar sitting on the table and consuming the oatmeal daintily, licking at it bit by bit. The critter doesn't seem to be perturbed by the taste at all. In fact, it seems to be intent on finishing as much of the oatmeal as it can.
Waste not want not, after all. Ze learned a long time ago how important that was to people.]
[Floor 22< - >Floor 24]
[Having decided to enter human form for a change, Kyuubey is now exploring the tower. The only problem, however, is that this tower doesn't make sense.
Long story short, there is what looks like a violet-collared, white-jumpsuit-wearing kid in the art room, looking at the stairway up in utter confusion. There is a missing floor, and that is something ze simply cannot comprehend. What is going on here?
So ze walks up to Floor 24 again.
...And back.
...There was something there, right?...]

*What.*
...is there no other way to fight this...heat death?

My kind...does not normally possess emotions. In fact, having emotions is considered a kind of mental illness among us. What this boils down to is, we can't use ourselves for the process.
[There's another long pause.]
I would like to believe that we would do so if we could, but...
[...yeah. :c]

*Sorry for him doubting you, Kyuubey, but the last person that tried to give him that sort of impression was proven rather wrong. Armaros's fall could not be blamed on his emotions, but his curiosity and innocence, his lack of awareness of how to handle his emotions and contrast them with the world around him. Once he had learned better, albeit in...a way he'd rather not think about, there didn't seem to be anything wrong. He's sure Armaros would want to go back if given the chance.
If...
...he tries to return to the conversation at hand, before the tightness building in his chest and throat can properly become tears.*
...Does not possess emotions, or lives in a way that doesn't see their maturity and expression?

[There's a tailswish and ear-twitching; while Kyuu doesn't hold any actual ill-will toward the poor girl, the moment of the change itself was...possibly the most terrible thing ze's experienced, and ze doesn't like remembering it.]
no subject
But...would it be ineffective if he had the capacity to learn it but had not? It doesn't seem to add up, but that's...not the point.*
...I don't know. But surely you must know how important the soul is. How could you deceive them?

[Good(?) for zir.]

*Haven't taken souls? Or...he doesn't want to think of someone willingly giving away their soul - unless they were told it was for the cause of preventing this 'heat death', but even then...*

*He isn't sure that's much better...*

[Sayaka...]
Sometimes people are desperate and there's no other way. I...will admit that I prefer actually working with people like this.
[Because, if only for a moment, ze's helping them.]

If you can access the soul, surely...
*Something. Something should be feasible. If their intentions were truly good, and the threat so enormous, couldn't someone contact Heaven, enlist their help in managing this thing? Come to think of it, why wasn't Heaven responding to people having their souls torn out? Had it escaped notice somehow?*
