Summary: Hunting for both candies and one very disturbed protagonist.

[Well, this is nostalgic. Kirigiri recognizes all the infighting that an event like this could lead to, so she's been avoiding any sort of social contact for the last few days. Of course, not having any supernatural powers, you could say she's been preying on the weaker monsters to meet the quota, rather than trying to take it from others. No matter what, she's not going to decrease the chances of survival of the whole to increase her own.]

[The unfortunate side-effect of this is that it is a massive waste of time, given how she has to be so selective. Time is the thing she needs the most right now, given Naegi's recent behavior. He's shown himself to be resourceful, and so, it's in Kirigiri's best interest to restrain him in some fashion, but she'll have to find him first. It's in her best interest to have people to help her with that, but given how Naegi's much better at social matters than her, and how he would have no compulsions about lying right now, it's best not to risk putting people against her.]

[Her costume is a problem in more ways than one, naturally. She doesn't know what Naegi has done so far, but just in case he's made any enemies, she has taken to having her hoodie down, so she isn't confused for him.]

[She places much more priority on not finding dangerous monsters than not finding people, so it's inevitable that at some point, she will run into one of the tower's inhabitants. Kirigiri may be wary, but she's cordial enough to not just walk off. Unfortunately, it's rather unlikely she'll take much time off from trying to track down the candies and her classmate.]

[ While Kirigiri's walking on one of the tower's floors, she might find.. a monster suddenly flying past her. Not a big one, at most moderately-sized, but small enough to apparently be flung through the air before it slams against a wall obviously lifeless and letting loose candy.

Obviously monsters don't normally do that though, so the source appears soon enough in the form of a boy in a big rooster suit, a metal baseball bat in one hand. ]

Hey, you, stay the fuck away from those candies, they're mi--

[ He stops mid-shout though once he gets close enough to notice he's actually yelling at someone he recognizes. ]

.. Kirigiri?

[Kirigiri's a little startled. Not because of the yelling, oddly enough, but because of the lack of a honorative. She's been keeping a particularly keen eye on everyone's habits recently. She neglected taking proper measures with Naegi when she had time. She will not do so again.]

[Of course, she doesn't ignore the possibility that this is simply a honest mistake, but right now, paranoia can't be a bad thing.]

Kuwata-kun. Hello.

[ ... Man, he actually lets out a sigh of relief at that - even though he was shouting like that, he wasn't particularly looking forward to fighting with some stranger (with possible superpowers) over the candy, this is much better, now he can just take the candy normally.

But for the moment he's still staring at the girl, mostly because of her outfit. ]

.. Why do you look like Naegi? [ says the one in the rooster outfit, Leon? ]

It's the costume I've been assigned.

[Simple and straight to the point. She looks at the dead monster, then at the costume.]

Almost all of the students from Hope's Peak I've seen so far are in the same situation.

I didn't know they made people dress up as others though, I thought they were just.. y'know, retarded costumes like mine. [ Somehow it looks even dumber when he's making that dumb face of his' in the rooster outfit, yes. ]

But.. yeah, I saw some of the others yesterday and before that, seems like they really got everyone in a costume now, huh?

There's little difference. No matter how dignified the costume is, the end result is the same if we're not careful.

...On that subject, have you seen Naegi-kun lately?

Nae-- yeah, I talked to him a few days ago, but.. [ He looks a little awkward. Naegi died, right? He had told him that, not to mention the weird.. well, everything.. At least he hasn't noticed Naegi acting like Monobear yet, but it was still all pretty awkward and borderline creepy. ]

Something weird is up with him, right?

He died, and has since come back.

I'm not sure if you have seen what happens next since they assigned us these costumes.

... Happens next? [ nope, apparently he doesn't realise - maybe he thought some of the weird people he saw (and avoided) were made by this tower or something.. (And Naegi was bent over his food, so he didn't notice it there either.) ]

You know, the candies don't really have effects for people not in costumes.

[Lancer is, of course, fully in costume.]

[Well. Either this person has never seen Naegi, or he didn't memorize him. Either way, she won't be connected to him. Good.]

[She can't help but get the feeling she knows him, though.]

[He blinks and cocks his head.]

['Friend'. Naegi's words from so long ago ring in her mind. It almost makes her feel actual guilt at not doing anything earlier, rather than just simple regret.]

[She doesn't draw her sentence out for even half a second. Kirigiri's good at hiding things.]

They can dress you like that? Who knew?

[Probably a good thing that he wasn't dressed up as one of the other Servants then.]

Still, I bet you look better in this than your classmate does.

[Smooth. Still, Kirigiri doesn't look the least bit offended, simply opting to resume searching the area for clues.]

If you're still looking for candy, I think I can spare some for such a cute girl.

[After all, he could kill monsters for candy easily enough.]

I can handle things for now, but thank you for the offer.

[It's starting to become very clear that this is a zero-sum game, and she doesn't want to owe any favors when the situation inevitably gets worse.]

I'm sure we'll both be needing as many as we can get eventually.

[Mondo comes up the stairs and steps into the hallway. Seeing what looks like just any girl fighting monsters for candy while on his mission to gather and give away as much candy as possible...naturally he goes right up to her, pushing aside his nervousness. He holds out his basket.]

Here. Take as much as you need.

[Kirigiri gives a respectful nod as she sees Mondo arrive. She's not quite sure if she has been recognized yet, but she fixes that quickly by talking, perhaps not with the expected reaction.]

...Do you have enough for yourself, Oowada-kun?

[Morally, she doesn't want to put in danger any other residents, but on a more objective level, it's in everyone's best interests to have people from Hope's Peak around. Not only do they know Naegi, but you could say they're already used to this game.]

...Kirigiri?

[Well, that's not who he was expecting. But all the more reason to offer help, classmates are high on the priority list.]

Aa, don't matter, just take what you need.

...Even if you're only interested in protecting others, you won't be able to do that without looking out for yourself first.

And how long do you think you can last? If you don't get enough for yourself, there will be nobody around to help them tomorrow.

You kidding? I'm gonna make it through, you watch! But...if I don't, that's just how it is. Already got executed, not fair if I'm fine and people like you're dying. Somebody's gotta help them today or they're not gonna make it to tomorrow.

[If that's his logic, then she can't very well disagree, much as she remains convinced in her own.]

[People have really changed since their time at Hope's Peak. And yet, she hasn't achieved the same level of emotional catharsis. How could she, when she left such unfinished business back home? She's still living a life hinging on an impossibility.]

I see. In that case, I don't have the right to stop you.

[He grins some, offering the basket again.]

So, you gonna take some?

[Chihiro's candy quota for the day has already been met, thanks to Mondo. He really didn't want to take Mondo's candy but the other wouldn't take no for an answer and Chihiro knows he would never be able to meet the quota himself...

So he is dressed like Mondo but with brown bunny ears and a tail, sighing softly as he walks down the hallway when he sees Kirigiri from behind.]

Ah, Naegi-kun!

[Kirigiri calmly turns to look at Chihiro, reasoning that being confused for her classmate means the hacker hasn't seen Naegi recently. It's for the best, but she'll still have to warn him during this conversation.]

[Privately, she wonders how Chihiro has made it this far. Kirigiri knows he's not the type to steal, and defeating monsters, while not an impossibility (if a method similar to hers is assumed) seems rather unlikely. She's not one to make assumptions, but she does have suspicions.]

This is just my costume, Fujisaki-san.

I've been looking for Naegi-kun myself.

[ It was just Rika's luck, really. Her first "event" here seemed to promise her death. She had no super human powers. No super human strength... very little combat experience, if what she had could even be called that. No way to gather candy, other than by counting on her luck and people's kindness. ]

Ah. Good day, there. [ So she's cautious when she spots Kirigiri. Rika is ready to turn tail and run at a moment's notice. Candy has been so hard to find lately and Rika knows she can expect the worst in people. She tries to play polite when crossing paths with Kirigiri, but has no trust for the other girl. ] Are you hunting as well?
