Characters: Kyouko Sakura & Homura Akemi
Setting: Sometime during the event, back when stealing candies was a thing
Format: Will match!
Summary: A long overdue meeting where Kyouko and Homura decide to team up and not die this month.
Warnings: um-! Will add if needed.
Floor Thirty-Eight
Homura had taken to one of the lounge floors. It was easy to see anyone who just so happened to come by and just as easy to avoid anyone in strange costumes. She had already had one more strange run-in that month than she preferred to have, exhausting some of her Soul Gem's glow to stop time and make hasty escapes.
Now she stood thoughtfully, debating her next move. It was kill or be killed, really. If she wanted to get through the rest of this twisted game, Homura needed to begin picking candies out of other baskets. She could not afford to help those unable to fill their own baskets. Instead, she would have to find such people and end their struggle. It was cruel... and she disliked displaying this level of cruelty... but she couldn't risk dying. People said that death here did not last, but Homura would not risk it. If this became the 1% time when the dead were not revived then her wish would be wasted. And Homura had yet to give up hope in that wish.
"Very well. If I must be a 'witch' prematurely, then I will do so." She whispered under her breathe, clenching her fist to hold her resolve tight, "This is no time to be naive, Akemi Homura."

It'd likely been months since the two had seen each other, but Kyoko approached her as though it'd been no more than a few hours. There was a casual grin on her face as she chomped down on a piece of pumpkin bread. Judging by the costume, Homura had been pulled into this little game as well and going off of the way she was clenching her fists like that...
"Don't tell me you're having second thoughts about this already. Ya got bigger concerns than turning into a pick-pocket, don't ya?"
NaNoWriMo ate me T_T;
"Kyoko Sakura." Her acknowledge was dry at best. Purposefully devoid of the warm relief that was encouraging Homura's will to fight. "... Mm. You are correct. But this is more than mere pick-pocketing."
Take your time. ♥ I know things get busy around this time of year.
♥ Thank you
Then again, she had left the days of being able to make decisions based on 'morals' a long time ago. "You're planning to steal, I take it?"
No problem! ♥
Her expression, formerly neutral, if a bit irritated, suddenly broke into a grin. "...well, of course, if ya want to back down, I'll take that basket off of your hands right now, y'know. Better that it go to another magical girl, right?" She made a meaningful gesture towards the basket as she spoke. It was an attempt at goad Homura into action, but only a small one.

But Homura does not do that now. She tightens her grip on the basket. That old her is gone. Madoka saved her from that person. Now she must protect Madoka. Even if that poor girl is dead now, due to this twisted game, Homura cannot die. If she does, then all hope of saving Madoka dies with her.
"That will not be necessary." She replied briskly. Hesitant, before adding, "Fighting solo in this circumstances is foolish. We are out numbered and our opponents unpredictable. Kyoko Sakura. I propose that we do not die in this fight."
She extended her free hand to shake.

It would make it easier for her to stay on track too. So, with no candy to give as offering this time, she takes Homura's hand for a shake. "Looking forward to working with ya, Homura Akemi." She doesn't bother mentioning the other two girls; if either of them were still around, they likely wouldn't be having this conversation right now.
