[04] || [The Lord of all Horses] || [Open]
Characters: Gandalf, optionally Shadowfax and YOU.
Setting: Room 2-08, Dormitory Floors / Corridors, Meadow Floor, Floor Forty-Five, Anywhere Else.
Format: Action for a start, but will follow.
Summary: As a result of his death in the event, Gandalf has regained his horse: Shadowfax, the Lord of all Horses. While that's a pretty good news, keeping the horse safe may end up being kind of hard. Feel free to talk to Gandalf (and his horse)! There will also be an option without the horse.
Warnings: Nonthing for now, will update if something comes up.
Room 2-08 (Backdated to the 1st)
[ Well... Upon waking up, that's quite a surprise. Hopefully his roommates are not here or they are still sleeping, because otherwise they'll be able to witness the white horse that appeared in their room, and who may end up being a problem. Not that the horse is bothersome, he is quite quiet and obviously domesticated. But as all horses, he is big and takes lots of space.
Gandalf smiles upon seeing his horse of course- Or rather his "old friend" as he calls Shadowfax. Although, the horse's presence here raises some questions. Obviously he got him as compensation from the costume, but... ]
How did you get here now...? How did they--
[ He pets the horse before looking at the door, first things first. Finding a safe place for the horse. He trusts Shadowfax to avoid monsters and less than commendable people, but the safest the place for him, the better. ]
Dormitory Floors / Corridors (Backdated to the 1st)
[ You may happen to see a strange scenery- The White Wizard leading Shadowfax throughout the Dormitory Floors and the Corridors of the tower (not riding it unless necessary of course) as he seeks a fine place for the horse to stay. The strange part is probably the horse, though Gandalf is quite glad he is here.
Sometimes monsters get in their way, but there are weak for the most parts and Gandalf is quick to dispatch them with his staff, or sword if this is really required. ]
Meadow Floor (Any day between the 1st and the 8th)
[ Finally it is at the Meadow Floor that Gandalf decides to let Shadowfax be. Maybe the White Wizard will pick another floor later, the Forest Floor is much more dangerous, but without a doubt more adapted for the horse.
In the meantime, you can see Shadowfax running freely around the meadow, sometimes stopping near Gandalf as the wizard pets him. Note that the horse carefully avoids stepping on the flowers, for the most part. ]
(No Horse) Floor Forty-Five
[ Gandalf stares throughout the windows of the observatory. Probably the most interesting and less useless of the new floors- All the other floors are more sordid jokes by those in charges without much interest. He can stare for hours long, as he thinks to the riddles and questions. And of course, as he does that, he smokes his pipe-weed.
Whenever a dead and faceless humanoid crawls on the outside though, Gandalf looks unfazed. It admittedly did surprise him at first and he is horrified at the idea of what they may actually be, but after a while, you just get used to it. ]
Anywhere Else
[ You may be able to find he White Wizard pretty much anywhere around the tower between November 1st and November 10th, with his staff in hand and carrying large books around. The books he was writing previously has gotten notably thicker.
However, the horse is not following him throughout the tower. No, thankfully enough the wizard has find a place where the horse can stay safely, and flee the monsters if necessary. ]

They probably believe it, yet I have seen more indicating that they- Accidentally one can hope, doomed us. Yet I do not believe they are outright evil, not anything like the evil that dwell in Middle-Earth or gather in this tower.
[ It had taken a lot of time for Gandalf to understand that the administrators, as despicable and cruel as they are, may truly have benevolent intent. A few of them at least (Jason is beyond redemption). But that's a complicated matter better kept for another day. ]
They may for all we know, but I wouldn't put it past our hosts to limit your vision so you cannot see. There are well hidden secrets they are afraid of, after all. Afraid of the consequences if we were to find them.
[ Gandalf prefers for people to be prepared for the worse outcomes so he can only approve. Yet again he wouldn't approve of the circumstances that led Legolas to start thinking the worse may have happened. ]
But tell me my friend, what is it that weighs your mind?

[Besides the countless deaths many here had suffered so far since arriving, the things done to those who died in costume, etc.]
They may have. I should not be surprised if that is the case though I am disappointed. Had this floor been available sooner, perhaps we'd have had a better warning for that whale.
[Which is one of the reasons he wouldn't mention anything about seeing it.]
Nothing can be hidden from you, can it Gandalf?
[He sighs softly, knowing that nothing could be. That's how the wizard had learned of his first death, after all.]
A friend was injured from one of those who died last month. His hands are terribly burned but he wishes for none to know of it. I have hope that you may know of a remedy to help his hands heal.

[ He stares back at the horizon then, thinking about it all, his theories and questions. Asking a, even simple, question to Gandalf rarely ever leads to a straight answer, alas. ]
Without the shadow of a doubt, yes. The administrators clearly do not see what are the priorities. Their manner of thinking eludes even me. Yet again, i doubt even years of preparation would have made the attack easier for us to bear.
[ He smiles at Legolas' next words though. Nothing can be hidden from him, heh? ]
If you really wanted to hide something from me my friend, you would avoid me for you know I am more likely to find what it is you hide than not.
[ Gandalf's smiles fades though as he hears Legolas' next words, worry drawing on his face. Hands terribly burnt? That sounded bad. ]
It does not sound good. A remedy I probably know but for that I need to see what exact state the hands are in.
no subject
[What could Legolas have possibly been expecting. You weren't so cryptic before going into Moria, Gandalf. What gives?]
Not easier to bear but there would have been less panic from those here, less casualties and more could have sought shelter.
[Hmph.]
I would not be able to find help for what I need then. I had hoped to bring up the subject myself.
[He should have known that Gandalf would suggest seeing the hands himself, too. It was something he would have tried to convince Haldir to agree to if it wasn't for his stubborn pride.]
I fear that is not possible. He'll allow no one to see his hands and that I did was a miracle. I can describe the sight to you, though it was gruesome.
no subject
You are right, but what has come to pass has come to pass.
[ Oh so this person refuses for his hands to be seen...? Probably someone with great pride. This, and this person is one of Legolas' friend. One that Legolas worries greatly about. One that Legolas felt necessary to ask Gandalf help for. And finally, one that is skilled enough to have survived the battle, but does not possess the might of having avoided this fate to his hand.
This narrows by a lot the list of who Legolas may be talking about. But Gandalf will be nice and pretend he has no clue. ]
Tell me then, then I'll tell you what is best done to heal them.
no subject
It would be nice though, Gandalf, if you didn't think this over so logically and make it nearly impossible to protect his companions identity. And his dignity. Even if you are pretending not to know.]
His hands are burned, terribly. It looks almost as though his flesh has been melted. They still bled, even after being bandaged. I fear infection may appear soon or that he'll not be able to wield a weapon again if they are not properly treated soon.
[He's even careful not to mention any weapons that Haldir is known to carry. And Legolas is also cursing his foolishness in not studying the healing arts more thoroughly.]
no subject
Nevertheless, the white wizard looks both worried and thoughtful at Legolas' words. ]
You shall go down to the infirmary and and take their antiseptic- A substance that exists not in Middle-Earth but that shall prevent an infection on the short-term. Then walk the Forest Floor for Athelas. I have cultivated what little remained from what Aragorn gave us during his stay.
Used by you, an Elf, the Athelas' healing properties should be strengthened. This should put the bleeding to an end and ease his sufferings. However, unless given magical treatments, his hand may never recover and the burning shall stay. The longer the wait, the harder to heal it will be.
[ Which can be a good time to ask the Turks a healing materia. If they have them. ]
no subject
Thank you, Gandalf. You may have saved his hands, for all the time he avoid speaking of it with even me. If it grows worse, I shall convince him to come and see you. I only hope that, if it should come to that, he will see reason.
[Unfortunately, Legolas knows nothing about the Turks and their materia. And Haldir would likely refuse their help more vehemently than Gandalf's.]
no subject
[ This all but confirms Gandalf's suspicion about who this friend is, but Gandalf will once again only nod before looking back to the window. ]
Tell him there is no shame in seeking help from others. There is no pride gained in losing a part of yourself to protect that very thing you call pride.
no subject
[So long as Legolas didn't intentionally reveal who it is and Gandalf says nothing to either of them, he's not bothered. And he won't openly speak of Haldir as being injured unless the march warden goes to Gandalf himself.]
I will relay those words to him if necessary. Namaarie, Gandalf. For now, I've a friend to tend to.
no subject
Then haste yourself and I shall hope to hear positive news soon.
